Thank you so much for such wonderful lessons. I live in Russia, but I have loved country music since childhood. And now, at the age of 42, I'm finally playing Country Roads! You are great at explaining and teaching with heart! I wish you all the best, God bless you!
Favorite part: Chord sing-along. It never fails to make my laugh but I love it! I'm always impressed with your sophisticated teaching style. Many people can play, but few can play AND teach. Thanks so much for posting this video! Bought a package of your learning materials - book, DVD, etc - and they were fantastic!
This song came out when I was 3 yrs old and by the time I was 5, it was my favorite. I used to sing it with my mom and had close family friends with teenagers who played this on guitar. It actually led me to get my first guitar. It will always have a special place in my heart.
Visit ur channel after 5 years... How u doin' justin ? I Used to learn from ur channel n now I'm the lead guitarist of my band n all credit goes to u.. U've been a guide through my whole musical journey.. Thanks a lot 🙏🙏
John Denver was one of my favorite guitarist and music performers of the time. Still play his music to this day, and I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing the day it was announced over the radio that his plane had gone down and he had died. Would love to see you cover more of John Denver's songs. Cool video, thanks. Cheers,
Ok, Justin hits it out-of-the-park again. Great song and way to play it. Nice way to spice up strumming with base note-strumming plus hammer-on picking.
Thank you Justin! The way you start by demonstrating the simplest version and then later on showing a more advanced version is such a great way to learn
Justin- very nice and great tribute to John Denver. Was fortunate to see him live three times. He is sorely missed. Great video- cheers from Austin Tx- live music capital of the world.
Glad you enjoyed it. There are now 700+ song lessons plus a song request board here: www.justinguitar.com/songs Cheers 😊 | Richard_close2u | JustinGuitar Official Guide & Approved Teacher www.justinguitar.com/donate
This is absolutely PERFECT for me because I play piano, but I'm trying to branch out. So I've taken up singing lessons, and I'm learning guitar from you! But for singing I'm learning this song! So I could learn this, and sing along!
Ooh, this is very exciting! I’ve only been playin for 5 months, so most of the songs I’ve learned have been from TH-cam tutorials. Country Roads is one of the few I’ve taught myself by ear, and I’ve been playing it for about 6 weeks now. After playing it myself for a while, I’m interested to see how you recommend I improve my technique in his video!
I've already learned this and play it with old faithful, but the little extras at the end of the lesson is what I needed to take it to the next level. Thank you for another fantastic lesson Justin. If you can't feel it you'll never play it good. Thank you for all you do for us. Take care of yourself and your family Justin. From Charlie in the States.
We can't be thankful enough for what you are doing here and teaching us how to play songs on guitar. I just started learning from you and Marty Schwartz! You guys are awsome!
Very nice… my wife and I got to see John Denver perform 3 times in the 80s - once at Red Rocks and at park in Denver Colorado…got to say hello at the park concert as leaving… to his staff he was most worried that someone had grabbed his guitar for ride home! Thanks for the great lesson.
Loving this, thank you, Justin! The hammer technique on verses and then mixing it up during chorus and bridge with old faithful makes it really fun. Beautiful song!
Oooh, I really need to revisit this. This was my 1st F chord song in 2019 :) I've been doing some Bluegrass studies and I love this song. Great lesson as usual!
I Am a shower singer and I never was able to learn more Than the typicall chords (in Spain we call them something like the "Scout boys songs chords") , but... I Love it. Thanks for Your lessons, they make me very happy. Kisses from Barcelona.
i love it man! the guitar part is easy for me, but im just now trying to learn to sing and play at the same time, and this seems like a good song to start. It's great to be able to start out really simply and slowly make the guitar part harder. Keep rockin Justin!
If you are a beginner like me and haven't yet learned the F chord, you can try replacing the only F chord in the bridge with an Aminor. Sounds almost similar to me.
Is it just me... or is anybody else getting Stewie from family guy vibes when he is singing out the chords?? 😆 but good lesson tho. Thank you for taking the time to break it down. First time I actually bothered learning to play this song. I never knew it was this easy. I really enjoyed learning it.
@@markbowerman7554 I honestly didnt think it would be that helpful trying to learn a song but it is a funny way of realizing it and relating it to learning.
I like your lessons Justin. Can you also make a finger picking lesson of this song cause I haven't found a proper lessons on TH-cam. Much appreciated 👍👍👍
Hi Jason, I watch your lessons when I've learned a song because although I'm a very experienced player there just might be some little additional trick you do which I could steal. :) So thanks for the hammer on bit which I will incorporate. Regarding strumming patterns - this is something I've never actually analyzed. As a self taught player I think differently. I don't consciously go ''down up, down down, '' etc My approach is singing in my head such as '' jing jingajing jing ''which translates to ''down - down up down''. I'm not criticizing your practical terms just noting the kind of habits self taught players can get into. This example is neither negative or positive but there are many negatives and over the years I've had to consciously erase such things. However I have never managed to stop playing an open A chord with only 2 fingers instead of 3. Such programmes as yours are a boon to players. In the past I spent hours working out every lick and chord from records because sheet music just didn't tell you the full arrangement. I hope all the young players appreciate just how handy this is as I'm 79.

Tech has me stumped
Thank you so much for such wonderful lessons. I live in Russia, but I have loved country music since childhood. And now, at the age of 42, I'm finally playing Country Roads!
You are great at explaining and teaching with heart!
I wish you all the best, God bless you!
Country G take me D.
That is my favourite part.
Great lesson btw - as usual :) Thanks Justin!
The Alternating Bass really makes this song mesmerising, I could sit and play this one for hours - it's like therapy.
Yes, the chord singing is something incredible! How cleverly it helps to memorise everything in the lesson.
I just realised I love this man twice, I can play songs I gave up years ago and he looks like the late and very great Norm Macdonald.
My favorite part of Justin's awesome tutorials is when he uses the chords for lyrics. It's very practical, yet it always draws a laugh out of me.
Life is G there ... Em than the Em
Hit C like a G, baby. 😂 Love it. If he doesn’t have a video, I don’t learn the song on TH-cam.
Justin, you share your talents here so others can become better guitar players. Love and Respect

I've been watching you for something like 17 years now. Time flies. You're great Justin, an amazing guitar player and a good human.
What an astounding teacher you are, Justin. You make this stuff so very approachable.

Always nice to see a new lesson, especially when it’s a John Denver song! ‘This Old Guitar’ would be a nice song to have a lesson on next ;)
This is absolutely PERFECT for me because I play piano, but I'm trying to branch out. So I've taken up singing lessons, and I'm learning guitar from you! But for singing I'm learning this song! So I could learn this, and sing along!

Nice sharing
"To a place, I belooooong"
That was really smooth, nice voice! 😄😄
i love it man! the guitar part is easy for me, but im just now trying to learn to sing and play at the same time, and this seems like a good song to start. It's great to be able to start out really simply and slowly make the guitar part harder. Keep rockin Justin!

❤ fantastic

Try playing an F major 7 or an F over C - these are great work arounds. ✌🏽
Is it just me... or is anybody else getting Stewie from family guy vibes when he is singing out the chords?? 😆 but good lesson tho. Thank you for taking the time to break it down. First time I actually bothered learning to play this song. I never knew it was this easy. I really enjoyed learning it.
Ah totally get the stewie thing when singing chords!

Lmao. Down to the outfit now that you say it.
Dang Justin! Have you been talking vocal lessons? Sounds great man!
