Absolutely excellent in identifying that screw that holds the panel from the side. It is only about half an inch long and useless, obviously a design flaw. I replaced it with a 1.5 inch screw using a washer to stop it from slipping through the panel and replaced the screw cap. I can't see it coming out now! Thanks Ryan Franzi. Saved me a lot of heartache.
Your video was a great help but I did it a lot easier. I used a longer screw to go in the existing hole. I put a washer on it and after removing the plug I screwed the panel to the seat. It made a solid connection. I then shaved the back of the plug to refit it and used blutack to hold it. On the front I used a cable tie. It is all now as solid as new.
I havent found a single video on how to ACTUALLY fix the entire seat... rocking back and fourth from loose/worn down parts.. rails and inside mechanisms, including the ones that pivot the seat in the back of the chair.... absolutely nothing..

I just bought a VY TONNER with the same problem your vid has inspired me to tackle it cheers
Had the same problem - a long self-tapping metal-thread hex-head screw was a much easier fix !!
Your a fucking champion mate just the vid i needed. Thanks for posting brother.

Would had been a good idea to disconnect the battery 1st cause the airbags may deploy.

Any idea why my seat wont move foward or back ? Non electric 01 vx .
Can you show how to remove the seat
I can't now as I gave the car back to my dad. If I get it again I'll pull it out for you.
is it possible to change vx commodore front seats (manual adjustment) into a 2002 calais electric seats?
I believe they would fit as the mounts are the same but you would need to look into setting up the wiring loom for them
I can do this!! I mean..I can try anyways 🤔 Thanks!!
Is it the same for vy 2003 commo :)
Yes

Lol just screw a large tech screw in there like a roofing screw.
