How To Remove Centre Console Components! - VY Commodore

How to remove your centre console components in your Holden Commodore!
This guide helps with the window switch, auto shifter, console trim and even the handbrake!
An easy task everyone would be able to achieve with the right tools.

Hey mate, great video! will definitely use some of this in future. Can you do one on the removal of the radio area as well? A spring and clip have popped off from the storage lid under the radio in my VZ when I took the centre console apart a while ago and I wanna fix it without something else going wrong.

Yes i can relate to the boot stitching coming undone.GMH did not secure it very well.My dog put his paw on mine and pushed it straight thru!

Oh no! That's not ideal lol
You can glue the tabs if it comes undone constantly, I did that on my old one :)

Pretty sure it has tabs locking it in place, remove the shifter trim and see how much room you've got to play with 🤔

Not 100% sure but I'm pretty sure, you lift up from just before the cup holders (similar clip style to VY) then unplug your electrical connectors.
I had a quick search before and seems pretty simple :)

How remove gear light ?

Similar process to what we're doing in this video except you'll remove the lower housing (white bottom section) once all associated trims are removed.
You might be able to get away without removing it if you're sneaky enough but to make it easier, remove the bottom section and replace the globe :)

There's one screw and panel at the handbrake, it's tight getting your hand up there, just give the globe a twist and it should pop out. Put a led in mine today, huge difference.
