    For anyone wondering about screws, i needed:
    4x M3x8 to mount the metal paddles to the extension
    4x M4x12 to put the paddle extension parts together
    3x M4x25 to mount the back plastic button shell to the wheel core
    6x M5x20 (+ 6x M5 nuts) to attach the wheel

    • @flyfox3621
      @flyfox3621 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mattyt531 Glad i could help! that list is new hardware, yes. except for the original M3x8 that hold the stock metal paddles, I had to buy all separately (some wheels include M5 screws but you will need M5 nuts for the hexagonal slots on the rear adapter part)
      I was able to reuse the original long screws holding the wheel core in place, so they're not included. same with all the screws for the button panel, they can be reused

    Nice!
    I just came from a G29 to a CSL DD.
    And as an owner and user of both DD and gear driven, I'm gonna say, this mod is actually worth it!
    The G29 is surprisingly nearly as good as even a DD! Yes I'm not talking shlt here... is it louder? Yes! And? It's still a great wheel

    This looks like an amazing mod and I'm absolutely gonna give it a try, thankfully I know someone with a 3d printer, though I am wondering if you or someone else knows if someone has designed a piece to go on the button base to fill in the gaps? So like there the start/select buttons are now free floating as they would normally go over the wheel itself, someone should design a plate to go inbetween the buttons and the button base to make it look cleaner

    I did this mod to a G29 and it reduced the rotaional speed because the wheel rim weighs more so now the motors have more mass they need to rotate thus reducing the output from the motors as more weight acts as a damper the exact oposite to what you want to do to the wheel as more damper affect the less you feel details from the force feedback. remember the G29 and such are only rated for around 2.5nm of force so any extra weight will reduce that down, personally I see this mod as paying to downgrade the feedback feeling of the wheel.

      More weight from a bigger rim will act as a damper reducing power output from the motors as they will now have to work harder because of the extra rotational mass, remember the G29 and such is only rated around the 2.5nm mark for the power output so more wight will reduce that down, you cant escape physics.
