People should understand that the basics for what today we see, India is working on tirelessly since the time of Swami Vivekananda's visit to US in his times..and brick by brick. It's a hard work but Pakistan doesn't like hardwork, but believes in shortcuts, backdeals and backstabbing and terrorism due to it's nature of it's historical DNA. Start from scratch or just forget. Don't despair. From education to economy to religious reforms to law and governance reforms you have hundreds of things to do before even aspiring to where India is today.

Sir you need not worry, one of the advantages of being from one of the oldest civilisations and having 5000 or so years of history, is that what seems like very old history is relativly recent for us. We still remember about the mourya dynasty, the mughals, the british and 1971 as well. I think a lot of people in the west dont realise that we support Russia not only because of the weapons and oil, but rather because of their invaluable assistance to us during the 71 war when US and UK were against us. Hamid Bashani is beyond compare in his study and reasoning. He's so clear and courageous to say the facts as they are. However I must inform him Modi is no walkover kid he has proved that he's a unshakeable master strategist who has his country and his people's priorities in his heart and soul and he has no other interests greed, lust or ulterior motives which others wish to stick on Modi he's God sent and God's greatest gift to India and it's people.
Always a learning experience listening to Barrister Bashani. India's trust issues with Americans will never allow Indian leadership to fully ally ourselves with the West and piss off the Russians who we need for cooperation in Central Asia for economic opportunities and to combat terror challenges. FTA with the Russian led Eurasian economic block is in final stages after years of trying and similarly Indo-US trade is ever increasing. Apart from the Chinese India wouldn't mind engaging deeply with any other power.

Hamid sir, India will never sit in the lap of the US. We don't need to. We will always remain politically neutral and independent. China is an irritant, not an enemy. Despots like Xi Jin Ping come and go but we are not scared of them. I taught in the US for close to a decade and you must believe me when I say that the Indian way of life is now deeply entrenched in the US. People are gravitating toward Yoga, Indian festivals, and Indian culture. We treat Americans as equals. This has always been so and shall remain so. It is always very refreshing to hear your views about the Indian subcontinent.
