India is a secular state, there is no rule of any particular religion. There is no Sharia law rule here. So many different types are held in different states of India. The ceremony in Kashmir is like that.
Removal or Non Applicability of Art 370 or 35 A actually resulted into application of whole of Constitution of India to Kashmir , which includes Fundamental Rights enshrined in part 3 of the Constitution.
These are applicable to Union Territories, including UTs in Rest of India.
Elections most probably will be held along with next Parliamentary Election in 2024.

I'm a freind of a Pahari, she carefully listens every shows of Mr. Bashani, she even told partitioned by religion separated pahari minds, who have same almost same culture. But Sir Bashani is an exception, it's not that he takes sides but he speaks on cultural point of view with logical aspects. And he is the few present day Pakistani origin who kept Pahari culture alive.
I am also of the same ethnic pahari tribe of the ethnic tribe from which hamid bashani belongs too it's true that the Muslim ethnic tribes were the first people who launched agitation against Maharaja of J&K & which resulted into first partition of J&K in 1947/48 but once J&K divided between India & Pakistan majority of the pahari tribe areas and Districts came into Pakistan POJK & India got only 2 districts of pahari in J&K which means poonch & Rajouri Districts & yours friend might be from these 2 districts

There is massive protest happened in POK yesterday against Pakistan government. They are even talking to join India if pak government does not listen their demands and basic needs. Minorities in pakistan are being targeted, force conversion and marriages. On the other hand, Indian Kashimir has witnessed a radical change in infrastructure, health facility and education. People are getting their basis needs on affordable rates. They are not doing any protest against government.

Only thing that is not available to J&K people is elections. Elections can only be conducted when the people understand value of democracy. India has conducted local level elections for people experience democracy.

Mr. Barrister does not have any clear idea about Indian Union Territories and the constitution of India. We as indian people understand integraty and sovereignty over human right because we don't interest in going to mediaeval time. Supreme Court case is on how Article 370 was removed . Secondly the rights that is being spoken is how pl from India who are living in J&K and working there forever were denied fundamental rights!!! In India one can work anywhere - buy properties etc . But the ppl living in J&K could not do so. SO fundamental rights were denied of people who have been working there for ever !!!! Also the local people were denied benefits of GOVT Schemes because 370. Now with that gone they are getting direct benefits straight in their accounts - like money, health etc Again this is for the benefit for the people
