This is part of the reason why I'm an atheist, at least when it comes to the popular religions like Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. A caring all-powerful righteous God would not allow a life of unjust suffering for children and parents. This guy had his childhood stolen and his parents sentenced to a life of very difficult, abnormal living and let's be honest... misery, for absolutely no reason. No hope that their kid will ever become a normal person with a job, girlfriend, his own home, a car, etc. And why? What horrible crime have they committed to be punished like this? None... it's just bad luck, or "God's will" if you're a religious person. God has a plan for everyone, right? Apparently Kevin's plan was to be trapped in a damaged body with a damaged brain for life, for his parents to take care of him FOREVER. And the plan for countless other children is to be slowly crushed by earthquake debris as they lie there screaming and dying... slowly, crying for "mommy!". Or to be tortured by various pathogens, parasites, bacterial infections, viruses, and cancers until they die a painful death at age 7. I specifically didn't mention crimes against kids so that Christians can't use the "God is not a puppeteer!" argument, where apparently God watches criminals prey on children and does nothing about it out of respect for the criminals' free will.

Seeing all of the disabled gathered together enjoying the outdoors and each other’s company considering all the effort put forth to be there makes me, even at 70 years old, ashamed that I complain about the simple aches and pains I may have in the morning. Shame on me for taking good health for granted.

"Watching this made me grateful that children and grandchildren were born, what I consider, normal" um, as someone who is also autistic, saying that your grateful that your kids and grandchildren aren't disabled, is ableist because it makes disability out to be bad, when it really isn't! It is the lack of accessibility and ableist attitudes of those (who think that disability is bad), that make it difficult for disabled people! *NOT* the disabled person themselves!

Hello! I'm autistic and wanted to let you know that a lot of us are uncomfortable with functioning labels. It's not necessarily accurate, as our skills and traits fluctuate a lot. Saying things like "high support needs" is a bit more accurate.
Another reason we are uncomfortable with that terminology is it can be used to either deny us accommodations, or deny us autonomy. Many who are labeled as "low functioning" are denied privacy, and many "high functioning" autistic people are denied the accommodations we need.
I understand that you aren't being malicious, but it's something very important to keep in mind.

My son started out ONLY SPINNING metal objects for months or years no making eye contact or relating to people. With the guidance of Jesus I took the matter in hand, he is the love and joy of my life but for his own good I WORKED WITH HIM YEAR AFTER YEAR Love, patience, dedication; he ended up being very sociable, graduating H S and has his driver's license. Although of course I can see autism is quite different this young man's situation. I know a young woman with Downs Syndrome.she went on to college, it depends on the home life they have.

When I was paralyzed as a young man in my twenties when someone rear ended my vehicle at a red light, I ended up in rehab for a while, and I remember so clearly that when my mom met the mother of another guy who was also paralyzed, she said, “I would do anything to be able to trade places with my son, to take the pain of this injury on myself instead.”
I’ve always remembered that as a demonstration of the kind of love that mothers have for their children. They carried us for ~nine months, they whispered to us when we were still developing inside of them, they thought of what they would name us, and they told us about dreams they had for us, and the type of person they hoped we would become…
That’s what I see here: a mother and father who get up every day to care for their son, simply because they love him. ❤

What a good looking son! The brain cells are definitely working. I had the two girls and a boy on the third, so I feel a connection with you. YOU are a quiet-spoken mom and that's to be admired, but ask for help when having to use your back lifting. The Foundation is amazing and has a great need. WELL DONE BY KEVIN. Love seeing the tears and smiles of KOOL joy.

In 92 I was injured whilst serving in the British military resulting in the loss of both legs. Until that moment I was uneducated and had no insight in to the disabled community, since then I have been blessed through witnessing the tenacity and sheer doggedness of so many differently abled people and their support network. I am in awe of you all.

Truly amazing! Shows what can be achieved if we look for solutions around the disabilities and don’t put limits on people! And to stop making assumptions. What a blessed family! Honestly so inspiring for myself, going through my own issues with invisible illness and mild movement disorder

19 years ago I was driving a city bus. I encountered all human walks of life. One evening I opened my door and saw this amazing human staring at me. As I waited for him to board I kept thinking who is this guy. I was intrigued. I told another bus driver about him and I realized all of the bus drivers knew him. Another occasion I again opened my doors and I said hey my name is Monica he couldn’t speak very well. So I asked him that every time he would board I would get to know him more. And he did. I found out we were both immigrants and almost same age. He loved movies and music. After 5 years of random sightings I met up with him to eat breakfast. It was so nice being with him. He told me that day at that restaurant that he treasured me like no other bus driver he’s ever had because I took the time to know him. I never made fun of him. I took the time to listen.
Now thanks to him I know sign language and can read lips.
I told him one day I will write a script for a movie about you.
If you read this his name is VICTOR FRAGA from San Antonio Tx.
HES THE BEST HUMAN BEING IVE EVER MET.

Kevin seems so sweet, happy, smart, and a hard worker in his life. His smile at breakfast when he said he has one goal, to get the food in his stomach was what made my heart happy..He has such loving,& supportive parents that motivate him to get out there and have fun,&be successful , i know personally having a child with special needs it can be challenging but its even more rewarding on so many levels..Although people with disabilities, differences, & special needs are faced with more challenges than someone without the same disabilities but its not impossible, its very possible for everyone to be successful in life, they just have to find ways to do things in ways that work for them..I remember being so inspired so proud of my daughter when she was 2 years old,she taught herself how to tie her shoes one handed, within hours in one day she figured it out all on her own, she was born with Amniotic Band Syndrome, she was born without her left hand and half her left arm., Theres many many days when im the one learning from her, im the one inspired and motivated by her..People that are born different are truly special amazing people, Its great when the world can encourage them, support them, befriend them and protect, cherish, and always be kind to them because you never know when that one day comes that someone with special needs may just end up being the most incredible person you will ever know❣💜

I don't believe in God, but I consider myself deeply spiritual. I find it incredible what each and every one of you does. Despite being limited by your disability physically, you touch so many lives and prove that nothing can stop you if you want it. I have so much respect for every person in the foundation, Kevin's parents, and the caretakers of any disabled person. I cannot say that my prayers are with you, but I believe that I can send you some of my positive energy, and that you are sending yours to millions across the world. Thank you, and know that you are amazing.

Simply beautiful. The dedication, The strength, The perseverance is just showing us that just because he has a disability he is no different than the rest. He bleeds and breaths the same as everyone else. His parents are god's angels. Showing what true parents are.... Never give up on your child because they show us so much more than we expected. Amazing story and beautiful family. May God continue to bless your family and give you all the love and support you need. ❤️

I am a caretaker for someone in a wheelchair, so this video made me really happy seeing all those kids with smiles on their face and participating in an event as independently as they are able to. Thanks for sharing this part of your lives with the public. This is a really special moment in time that will positively impact so many other families going through the same thing.
