Believe me, I'm wary too and there's no shame in that, but there are safe people, and you will find them. If I've had a particularly bad time with men while I'm at work (ew, sales), I often come home and watch compilations of guys doing wholesome things. I advice buying a small taser and keep it in your purse. tbh taser can be pretty pricey, other option can be pepper spray or a small shaped knife. if you have a loud alarm or something that can alert the people nearby it's good too, but less help when you might end up in an isolated place. you can just bring them with you when you're going out

As someone who is in the BDSM community, we don't welcome nor claim anyone who will ignore/ dismiss someone saying they're not interested, dismisses consent, or tries to manipulate or force someone to do something they're not comfortable with.
