Today I went to another Arizona pond to do some urban flathead catfish fishing! There are lots of ponds like this in Arizona but it's rare to find one that has flatheads in them. I used hotdogs instead of my normal live or cut bait and it seemed to do the trick!

Keep coming back! One of my favorite fishing spots and I caught & posted two of those 15 pound flathead. Catch plenty of carp also. Yes on hot dogs lol

Where do you catch flatheads in an urban pond here in Arizona
Best place is Dobson ranch in mesa but this time of year the flathead bite is starting to slow down.

Thank you! I was using a 5/0 gamakatsu octopus hook with a 1 oz egg sinker about a foot from the hook 🤙
@@FishingWithPorter Thank you. I have been trying to catfish with hot dogs and bobber. Very rarley- I got 4 fish so far. Most of the time the turtles stole the hot dogs. I will try your rig method. Tx.

Hotdogs are not shocked catfish bait anymore, everybody used them.
Yeah for channel cats they’re probably the most common bait but flathead catfish pretty much just eat live or cut fish. To me catching flatheads on hotdogs is wild

This particular pond I believe is catch and release only. I wouldn’t be surprised if people catfish out of here though
