People are so strange, they choose to believe scammers that tell them outlandish stories, but don't believe good people that make sense and are willing to show proof they are legit.
I know this was posted 4 months ago, but for others that read this:
It's mainly because once you get burned once, you don't want it to happen again. So if you lose a crap ton of money and someone comes back talking about that exact time, your defenses are going right up and you don't want anything to do with anything involving that ever again.
The other flip side is that sometimes the scammers circle back and reconvince a victim that the scammer is the good guy and those other people (the scambaiters, etc) are the real scammers, trying to use the victim for whatever reason.
I think we see both of these scenarios happening in this video unfortunately.

Maybe it is time to stop being nice and letting scammers keep their computers by destroying everything once you have access to their network and all their computers and given the Indian authorities chance to do something about them a good cryptolocker maybe left with the same name of a most used file on their computers and hidden file extension, after all a scammer is not going to go the police and complain someone ruined their scamming computers and if they did am sure our local law enforcement wouldn't do anything except say well done lads you did nothing unlawful, we investigated and found no wrong doings here Mr Indian police officer. Yes I understand you want to remain legal hence the reason I suggest methods that get the scammer to do the clicking after all your methods of gaining access I guess is legit. Maybe we just don't see this aftermath which I would understand also. One last alternative would be to give access to scammers computers to another youtube channel I won't name but has a track record of destroying scammers networks. Anyhow thank you Jim and all involved for protecting the vulnerable out there it is appreciated.

When I saw that old man and heard the way he was speaking I immediately got super angry. They just wanted to help people and he got mad because they needed the victim to just take 2 minutes to do a video or even less time to write an email.
I got scammed because I watched the entire video thinking Munir was arrested. But great work and effort. Please keep fighting! You guys are awesome.

I did cry, they probably left a very lasting impact on that child. He will grow up to remember when he was sleeping on the streets with his mom and a kind stranger gave them a bed to rest on. You saw how they felt laying in that bed after the previous hotel, imagine how good it felt for them since they probably haven't had a real bed to sleep on in a long time

I cried, I can't tell you how many nights I hoped for someone to help me find a place to sleep. I was homeless and alone most of my childhood and I remember wondering how this could even be something that was even legal to happen to me... I also live in South Carolina.
I am a 68 year old lady from Australia. I happened upon your channel a couple of years ago. I have a private phone number, yet these people are still, to this day, calling me. Probably over 40 times. I can not tell you how much I have appreciated your videos, which have made me wary of the many different types of scams. I was terribly frustrated watching this video, knowing that this Munir has not been brought to justice. I felt so terribly sad for you, seeing the incredible effort you put in. I do understand the victims not willing to make a complaint. They are fearful of repercussions, and have lost trust. I really feel for all of them. Thank you so very much, for all of your hard work. It may seem very little to you, but you have saved one person.
I will make a suggestion. My mum at 95 in Australia was having the same problems. 25 calls a day, every day. Get rid of the land line . Have a mobile only. Load with the numbers of your contacts . Then never ever ever answer any other call . You generally can spot a fake number anyway. Just do this and you will be better off

U know, even if a private number, they have random call bots and if answer 1 time they share your information between scam call centres, your details will forever be on their list and shared by these terrible ppl. Pls change your private number and if ever get a random call, just remember be smart, never let a company download anything your computer, buy gift cards, of fall for their threats of urgency, they also use local number so pls dont fall for that too. Keep safe.
I am in Vancouver Canada and only have a cell phone and I get calls from numbers from all over the world! Even Lagos . I never answer the phone unless I know who it is. I once got a voice message that I was going to be arrested if I didn’t pay a big fine, needless to say I didn’t do anything but delete the message, So I got a voice mail message on Monday. The message said hello we have put a hold on your card do to fraudulent activities. No mention what card it was or bank nothing. They left a number me to call. I did not. I went to my bank and yes it was a scammer. My credit card was perfectly fine. Always check with your bank in person. Do not call these people back!
@@kangab1387 , With all due respect this is the worst idea. It is best to keep the landline and have the mobile phone as well. Caller ID can be installed on the landline by the phone company or get the phone package by Panasonic, which includes five phones with cradles and allows you to block at least 250 suspicious and unwanted calls. The phones screen will light up with caller information while at the same time announcing who it is. I have had a landline and cell phone for years. I received the Panasonic set a few years ago and it has been a great investment. It is so satisfying to block calls from people and entities I do not know not be mention having more ways to communicate.

They didn't get the scammers 1, and 2 people who have to broadcast stuff like that for the internet are not doing it out of genuineness but to say "hey look at me helping the homeless" ....like really???
They made there best possible effort which is more then anyone has done. This is the reason why these pos scammers get away with so much. It's a crime no one really cares about. So what if an 80 year old widow loses her life savings because some scammer got into her account and cleaned it out for every last penny she has. This goes on every day and nothing will put an end to it unless people really make an effort to help bring these criminals to justice. Two people pounding the pavement is not enough when every victim is either scared or embarrassed to come forward and do something about this. These two guys tried there best and could not do anything because when it comes down to it, no one cares enough to send an email or record a few sentences about the fact that they were scammed. It's nice that you have taken the time to show appreciation for their efforts and I too thought it was awesome that they took the time to get the woman and child a room to sleep in. Then there are people that have to comment about how it was done to make them look good. It doesn't matter if they showed this or not. It made me feel good that there are people that care enough to do something nice like that. Why do people have to make some derogatory comment about them doing it to be commended?

After being scammed it's only fair for them and their own to be on the defensive. Yes I agree. These guys are well intended and so generous. I feel they may be misunderstood when they act silly and now I know how good they are and share their skills I would not hesitate to help them. My husband, a retired fed, was scammed so no one should ever be ashamed. I’m thinking their humor is misunderstood but you will never find 2 nicer people. You guys should leave one of your Trilogy Media pamphlets in the mailboxes of all the victims you visit in person, that way they can find out more about you in the comfort of their own homes, without your cameras present and without all the pressure of being approached at their homes by complete strangers. Some might reach out to you in the future once they have had a chance to do some research about you and what you do. After researching you they might feel more comfortable working with you. I think this would increase your chances of success and you would have a higher success rate of people willing to help you. Love you guys! Great work.

I think I can understand the reaction of the victims. They prob have been hounded and no longer trust anyone and really don't understand what happened or what the 2 large guys at their door are saying, let alone the guys don't really present as professional people.T-shirts and jeans? As you have found out just turning up on their doorstep is the antithesis if what is required. You are passionate and driven by what you do and that is a great thing, I understand that. I’m from India and I tell you the law enforcement sucks here. I too got scammed and I did what I could possibly do from my end. But those who have authority won’t even get their butt off the chair. This entire thing makes me so angry and sad at the same time.
I have never been so moved by a video, depressed by the frustration of trying to help people who don't want to help themselves and then subsequently brought up by the kindness you showed the homeless mom with kids. You have an eternal fan in me now.

Someone I know signed up for a class action lawsuit against organized crimes that took place at a church they went to and the team reached out to my friend like three times and they never picked up. They were nothing but kind and encouraging but my friend was just so scared to speak out. Maybe if you had victims talk to each other that would help them feel less alone? It can be scary when it feels like you're the only victim speaking up, I bet if you introduced one victim to another it could really help them feel safe. Or their relatives speak to each other. You guys are doing great work ❤️ keep it up!

Lol bribes exist in the real world, not just in movies. Cops do get paid off by criminals to not do anything and get a small cut of the payout. Law is not really enforced in those nations…money talks.

KUDOS for the room for the mom and her child, this was beyond human, which is more then I can say for the police in India who probably accepted a large bribe...I was almost a victim of one of these scams just a few weeks ago. My personal opinion, after watching this and many other similar videos, is that the Indian police are corrupt and easily paid of by the scammers. I disagree. You guys should approach each victim as if it were your grandmother. Imagine if some stranger walked up to your door, said they were with the media, and showed you a picture of your own desktop. Bet you would be slightly skeptical. But do you guys stay calm and try to empathize with them for even a minute or two or listen?…nope. Just push and push until you’ve lost a “target” as you called them. I have the latest one saying that a charge of £900 has been applied to my Visa card and if this is not correct, I need to contact them for the refund! This is absolutely weird, because I don’t even own a Visa card!

tbh , the cyber security cell division works totally differently from the local police division. They are actually helpful and they do raids and arrest people. These cases also run under different cyber security courts in India. As stated Indian law is very different from US/UK also these scammers know this well. they can't get away just by giving money to the cyber security police, Once the police raided them and have enough evidence they are gonna serve a long time in jail for scamming people. But again as the police person said, they don't get enough victims raising their complaints. even we Indians get scammed by these scumbags every day, whoever complaints and go through court proceedings, even get's back all their money....

I was recently blackmail/extorted for my personal details through Gmail and then files I had on Google Drive. Out of fear, I managed to convince the scammer I only had £400 in that moment which he could have and then tried to bargain for monthly payments to stall him (I know I should have never sent but he was quoting my mum’s name) and the first response of many - “why the fuck did you send that money”, the fear and bulldozing tactics leave you startled at first. These scammers are truly nasty vile human beings and your channel is a BLESSING for educating people on how these idiots operate.
