So are companies (both legitimate and illegitimate) registering their "corporate headquarters" within shadow buildings in the middle of nowhere Delaware. Companies including Walmart, McDonalds, Starbucks, Google, Facebook, JPMorgan, Berkshire Hathaway, American Express, Boeing... the list goes on. Even El Chapo has an illegitimate Delaware corp. That's exactly how an employee of a registered agent / virtual office services provider should answer when served with a legal document for one of their clients. (That's effectively what Trilogy did when they started asking for private information about one of their clients and then handed her the paper.) To not do so would put them in breach of the contract with their clients and open them up to being sued.
      Remember, they aren't affiliated with Bostoy in any way. They're just providing a virtual office to them. This would be like blaming the post office for accepting packages from scammers. Virtual office providers have no idea what kind of activity their clients are engaged nor should they. They're simply a legal point of contact.

That's why they also asked them to leave, as they don't want to make any comments about a company that they have no idea of what they engage in. • @mariusvanc

      It's not telling at all. Someone starts snooping around MY business, lawyers would be involved immediately, especially if I have fiduciary responsibility to other entities, like an operator of a virtual office would. No one's going to do business with you if they know you will casually tell everything about them to anyone who asks. It's no sign of guilt. Not talking to police, not talking to reporters, getting legal advice, those are things EVERYONE should be doing, regardless of guilt or involvement. You never know if you'll incidentally say something that will unwittingly implicate you in something. I find the attitude in this thread very worrying, and everyone should be concerned about the willingness of some to jump to totally unsubstantiated conclusions. "Why be worried if you have nothing to hide" is something people who want to smear you with dirt will say. Just look at this video... "this building is shady AF"... uhm, what? There are tons of buildings all over American cities that are half empty and not utilized. There's nothing shady going on. Someone owns the building, and is renting space to a virtual office company. That it doesn't have full occupancy (at least appears so), isn't shady at all. The economy sucks these days, if you haven't noticed, and the building looks rather derelict in places, so maybe the rest of it is not safe to occupy, or is being renovated? OMG, so shady!

Scammers often make grammatical errors and misspell words on purpose in order to filter out people like you who would notice the details. The Delaware thing though.... These companies probably hold hundreds or thousands of HQs. Most of them totally above board. This is a dead end. These people have no idea about the goings on on of the businesses they incorporate and I totally do not blame them for not giving you any information. They are not legally responsible for what the businesses registered there do.

    • @outseeker

      by the sounds of things that first girl had plenty she could explain if she were allowed. as for the manager, if you're running a legitimate business there's no reason to lock the door on these guys.
      explain your business, explain broadly how it works, no specifics about any one company that may or may not be "there", all perfectly reasonable information to request and receive.
      but to say "please leave", and lock the door?
      "we don't speak to the press"?
      how is that not suspicious as all hell?
      even if you're willing to give up zero information as a matter of privacy, you would think someone would still want to hear the whole story with all the details at the very least, if not then explain how they're in no way connected really to the companies they "house", if that is the case, but no..
      really it's a specific choice to decide you don't want to hear about any potential wrongdoing, and the obvious reason for that is you're aware of it, and profiting from it either directly or indirectly.
      glad grandma got wise :) i hope whoever tried to scam her always has food that is either too hot, or too cold to enjoy.

    • @justintime5021
      @justintime5021 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@outseeker all I'm saying is that you would probably get the same frosty response from most of these places even if they were totally above board. And it's not hard to understand why. They have absolutely nothing to gain from talking to the press at all. They aren't involved in the businesses they incorporate. It's kind of like going to the head office of the water delivery service a company uses and asking why their client has been scamming people. Its just not that kind of relationship. Some people seem to think this is like a business partnership and that's just not the case. It's a service they are providing for a fee. Should there be tighter regulations? Probably. Are the business owners acting how I would expect them to absent those regulations? Yes, absolutely.
      Now of course they could have been nicer and more professional. I agree with that. They could have explained to them what I just explained. Thats totally true but they would have come away with the same lack of information regardless. That's kind of what I mean when I say dead end. None of these companies are going to give what these guys wanted. And it was a bit naive to expect any different

    • @outseeker
      @outseeker 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@justintime5021 idk i think if u went to a water distributor, with evidence, and told them one of their clients is doing illegal stuff, like taking payment to deliver water they never provide, they would want to know, and distance themselves from that client to avoid (further) tainting their reputation.
      maybe they have nothing to do with the illegal activity itself, but their name/brand is going to be relevant in any proceedings/news coverage, which isn't a good thing when the topic is illegal activity/theft/scamming.
      they do have something to gain by talking to the press, if they're innocent and genuinely concerned for the legitimacy of their business and those they deal with, they have reputation as a trustworthy/honest company to gain.
      particularly it would look very bad if you at any point try to claim you had no idea about any wrongdoing by your client, after someone had brought the matter to your attention previously- perhaps that is a reason to not want to even hear the story. then you can feign ignorance later when/if the swat team comes knockin'.
      in a case such as this where there is no physical product, and you're being told one of the clients you "house" is involved in misrepresenting themselves and basically stealing money from victims, to reply with "oh well they pay me and i'm not directly involved in their business so it's not my problem if i enable them" (expanding what they said a little) seems a very fully aware and dodgy response.
      i feel like if the scammers were costing the company that "houses" them money, they would be all over it, but because they profit from it, they'd prefer to turn a blind eye. i call that dodgy, as legal as it may perhaps be. i certainly wouldn't call it legit by default.

    I appreciate what you guys are doing, but Delaware is filled with registration agents like these Registering Agents that have an office can have hundreds or thousands of suite numbers and that is all that. Even this location does this for hundreds of businesses, most of which are likely to be normal, small businesses that don't want to have their address public
    Like, there are hundreds of thousands of individuals who need an LLC for various reasons, say they are a contractor. They don't know the first thing about being a legal company, so they go to one of these people, who will apply their name and address as the legal location.
    I spend a lot of time on secretary of state websites, the registration agents are not necessarily shady, it's just like people who get paid to make businesses legal entities.
    If I were to make a guess, he got a request from some people to set up this entity, he called the registration agent in Delaware, and they set it up with very few questions asked.
    You guys need like one person on the crew who can navigate this kind of stuff.

      Because they were making legal threats. The office manager of the virtual office doesn't have the authority to make legal responses for customers. If you showed up at my house or office, I'd say something similar. That would depend on where I am in the corporate hierarchy. I'd probably say "up the tree", since I haven't always been a C-level person. Even if I were a C-level person, I'd hand it to legal to respond to.
      In legitimate businesses, I've not answered questions, even if I'm the one with those answers. I ask management who would authorize me to say anything, or they'd ask legal first. Then I'd call the person back. Once that cycle was short enough to get the investigator before he left the building. Usually it's later in the day. But not all companies want to get pulled into legal cases. They'd wait to be served legal papers, and then comply with the court order. Like, the normal legal way to do this, not just knock on the door and expect answers. A real investigator with legal authority would have a subpoena for information.

I also don't want to get myself in trouble by saying the wrong thing. While I wouldn't just shut a door in your face like that lady, I would politely ask you to leave since I can't say anything - even if it was a scam or controversy in my company, it's simply not my place, and I need my job, and I don't want to get my ass in trouble by saying the wrong thing.

    The so called manager said initially that she would pass on their business card, then at the end once given the note she said she would give it to her lawyer.
    So obviously she also is aware of the shady dealings and is used to dealing with lawyers and lawsuits.

      How is she "obviously" aware? She works at a registered agent / virtual offices provider. This is what they do.
      The employee asks if they're serving because usually the only time someone physically shows up to their location is to serve legal documents to a business using their virtual office services. They probably have hundreds or thousands of clients so I'm sure they get served for one of their clients multiple times a year.
      If you know anything about how registered agents and virtual offices work then you know that the way the employee and manager acted was completely normal and above board.

Some of them have almost got me but then I thought maybe they were a scam. I really am interested in knowing.

    Are you going to overlook where these scammers advertise? Google is an accomplice. They happily take the money to advertise for these scammers. Without Google they couldn't run this scam.

      It's not that much of Google's fault, the companies paid and google did what it promised, it's the same thing TH-cam does. However, i do wish Google had a form of tip line for scams and fishy sites.

      They're getting paid money so they don't care. They totally have a team of people who will investigate every ads to see if their legit or not.

    • @SherrifOfNottingham
      @SherrifOfNottingham 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most importantly when google cracks down on these scammers unfortunately what happens is t he "free" nature of the ads goes away
      Much like how TH-cam has demonetization, that tool was meant to prevent organizations like isis from being associated with advertisers, but once we cracked open the pandora's box of "advertiser friendly" to get rid of profiteering terrorist recruitment videos suddenly advertisers were willing to say "Yeah no I don't want to be around somebody talking about race or war or LGBTQ+ either"
      Once you provide the tool to get rid of the scammers, you've unlocked the ability for corporations to now control things.

    Being in Delaware, maybe you should have asked to talk to Hunter. 😁

  • @cefarix
    @cefarix 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    That location in Delaware is a registered agent / virtual office / corporate filings business. I can almost guarantee they have nothing to do with Bostoy other than the owners of Bostoy being their clients. There are registered agent businesses like this in all 50 states and their operations are 100% legal. They are not responsible for what their clients may or may not do.
    Since they are the legal point of contact for a business registered in that state and using their virtual office services, normally the only time someone shows up physically for one of their clients is if they have to serve legal documents. They provide their services to hundreds or thousands of businesses so I'm sure they get served for some of those businesses in this fashion multiple times a year. That's why the employee at the office first asked if they were serving.
    Blaming the business at that Delaware address is like blaming the post office for accepting packages for scammers. The post office just provides a service and has nothing to do with if their services are used by a criminal. Similarly, the business at the Delaware building is just providing services and has nothing to do with if one of their clients is doing something illegal.
    Using a registered agent and setting up a virtual office is a perfectly normal part of registering a small business like an LLC for example. It's also their legal duty as a virtual office to not reveal private information about their clients to anyone. If they did that, it would actually be illegal and they could be sued by their clients. This is the same as asking the post office to reveal the personal information of a PO Box owner.

A ton of money is also different things to different people. The least you can do is keep them on the run.
