Just bought mine yesterday! Opted for the trail boss custom in white. Beautiful truck. It’s 2024 and was able to get $6,900 factory rebate + $1,000 off for being a Costco member + the dealer wanted to really make a deal and took an additional $1,500 off for a total of $9,400 off MSRP. They threw in a full tank of gas, 2 Chevy ball caps 🧢, and two free oil changes and even feed us lunch lol while we were there. There’s deal out there you just have to fine the right one.
I think the 2.7 is probably the most reliable motor that their 1500 has right now since the V8s have the lifter problems. The diesel could be reliable if one could get away with deleting it but 2.7 would be the safest bet.
Love the simplicity of the dash. I don’t need a huge touchscreen or digital gauges. Control knobs/ buttons are mandatory in my opinion. Nice looking trucks, thanks for the video!
I love the dials & buttons I don't want to go into different pages to shut my lights off & things like that & knobs for the radio volume & change channels is great
I’ve really noticed GM/Chevy seem to have really improved build quality. My local dealers have great service as well. The 2.7 seems like a great engine when you read about it. Interesting in how they’ve built it.
Too bad they don’t offer custom trailboss with 6.2 Only offer 2.7 and 5.3 that don’t compete with ecoboost 2.7 or 5.0 on the Stx f150 fx4s or ram warlock hurricane inline 6 3.0 I bought my dad the last of the 6.2 custom trailboss classic back in 2021 Truck came with 6.2 , 10 speed , multi function tailgate, running board, and fog lights and wheel liners .. all for 48k
excellent, make a request and ole Jason delivers !!! 5.3 for me, tried tested annnnndddddddd doesnt break down. Couple of points to add, on my LT trailboss, I do have the dividers under the back seats you spoke of, as well, mine comes with the grill plug in and its not a diesel.
I only use 4L in the winter. I do the same thing. I run it through 4H, 4L and the axle lock just to make them work every so often. Now I know someone else does that. Idk if it's in the manual; it just seemed like common sense. 5 yrs, all that still works like new.
Every time I try a 1/2 ton truck I've always regretted it. I've done it 3 times and always find myself looking for a HD diesel truck again but nowadays I would probably look at the 6.6 gas HD.
There should be a good bang for your buck. Save extra money just to pay for full time mechanic or electrical tech. 😉😂. They are nice looking trucks but Chevy lost my faith in them over 5 years ago.
I’d say if you’re not ever going to use 4 low just make it an awd. My dad has an 2003 Chevy full-size van that’s awd. Thing is a beast in the snow. Doesn’t have that typical jerking locking 4x4 and turning tight radius.
I agree that lots of people are using 4 wheel drive less. Me and many friends and family members but them for just in case. For the hunting lease and other stuff we park the trucks and unload the side by sides or 4 wheelers. I'd rather put them in the woods than my truck.

I love that cypress gray color too. Quite obvious by reading all of the comments that everybody has their own opinion about everything. That’s why all of the different options are nice. Get what you like. Who cares what anybody else thinks. You’ll never see those people and they won’t be driving your truck.
I have a 2012 Silverado 1500 that has been good to me, except for rust/corrosion on the frame. Is the quality of the steel on the newer trucks better? Are other half ton brands better in this department? Wisconsin roads have a lot of salt.
@giddyupcal15 I don't think any are safe from salt without doing a twice a year fluid film treatment or even just once a year will make a huge difference. Even the ford's with aluminum body's suffer frame rot and aluminum oxidation
@@Jason-Samko honestly idk. I’m in the market for a new truck and I’m trying to take the safest route. I like the Colorado and the gladiator. I don’t like 4 cylinder vehicles let alone trucks but if they can still be reliable with proper care at 150k miles I would consider one. Ram trucks I’m not familiar with but the company isn’t doing well and there’s discounts. Discounts talk to me. any advice for my situation?
@Sportsandsneakers20212 all trucks are a crap shoot today. That said 150k miles should be doable with most any truck today turbo 4 or 6 or 8. However I would not own a truck today outside of warranty and recommend a factory extended warranty. But I would test drive them all and see what you like best. Ram is good, ford is good, chevy is good, nissan is good. Toyota tundra is a little iffy still right now. Jeep is good
Still waiting on those 2025 colorados. Pre orders were supposed to be in September with production being finished in December I thought but I still can’t even build a 2025 online. Not sure what’s going on or if I’m just missing something.
These trucks are a FAR BETTER value than anything Toyota offers. A 5.3 v8 get rid of the cylinder deactivation and auto start stop if they have them and this is easily a 10yr 200k plus miles truck.
You can get a great full size for the price of a midsize if ya know how to configure & shop for your price especially for the guys that pay attention to you on this channel
I love my new silverado but one of my only complaints is that it doesn't have a 12v outlet and now I'm pissed to see that you have one on that stripped down custom trim. It's my first vehicle with all digital gauges and that takes some getting used to for the fuel gauge because when it says that its "low" what does that actually mean? If it was an analog gauge you'd have a better idea. But in mine, the second "low" comes on it means only about 2 gals remaining. That's it. And my other major complaint is the fuel tank capacity is pathetically small. I have a 4wd without the 4-lo and at first I was a little bummed about that but I don't plan on taking my truck offroading anyway, I just need it for slippy conditions on my mountain so it was a fair trade off for a lower price. And yeah for me lack of a grab handle was a major major gripe of mine back when I had a taco.
4L off road is absolutely MANDITORY especially if you got a heavy load on in the mud over poor terrain. If your truck has no 4L you probably dont need a 4by.
Hi Jason. Years ago I was told that the GMC is a higher level of quality than the Chevy. Do you know if it's true? Thank you for your time, have a good weekend 😊.
Gmc Sierra always looks better than a Chevy Silverado, especially the front end… just like Pontiac looked better than the Chevrolet back when Pontiac was still kicking ..ex: 2000 trans am looks better than a 2000 Camaro…
We have 3 Chevy trucks in our fleet. They have been dependable but the seats are a joke. The number one complaint seats suck. no matter the trim the seats are too firm and on a trip longer than hour my butt hurts. And the other thing what’s up with the side mirrors. It was like oh shit we forgot to install the mirrors. Don’t worry just screw them on no one will notice. They look like we are back in the 80s.
I’m sorry but that interior is an simply awful. Gauges and entertainment screen about decade old yet the prices are most certainly not on the same level. I get the old school feel but some upgrades make sense and should be implemented.
Chevy/GM makes the best trucks right now, hands down. Toyota is a lost cause. It will take them at least 5 years to make up their mistakes. You are totally right on Chevy giving people engine options. Letting the customers choose what they want will save them more money compared to having the customer having buyers remorse.
@bobcook8576 not always. Auto trac single speed is no 4 low. Autotrac with 2 speed transfer case is with 4 low. Gm offers both single and 2 speed options
@Jason-Samko I've had 4 gm trucks with AutoTrac 2 speed. Come to think of it, higher trim Yukons came AutoTrac 1 speed. On the 19 and newer trucks, GM cheaped out and made the 2 speed only available with the Z71 and X31 optioned trucks. I've allways had a 2 speed box on all my lt and ltz trucks in the past.
You get a bunch more room in the center console on fords with the column shifter. I'd buy the stx if it had options for the door code and remote start.
