The only reason I didn't buy Silverado is the price... It might be affordable to some... Unfortunately I'm not one of those... I'm beyond happy with my Colorado ZR2
picked up a 25ZR2 Silverado with the 6.2 a couple months ago...got 12k off, there are deals to be had for sure. Out here in AZ lots of dirt roads to play on...the front and rear lockers got used for the first time today and what a game changer over a regular 4 wheel drive truck. Thanks for another great video.
Dude great freaking review. The front and rear lockers are a huge plus. I bought a 2024 tundra trd pro for the same price this is. I don’t regret buying my Tundra at all but I definitely would have liked to check out a Silverado. At least a trail boss. They’re very aesthetically pleasing. Great video again. Happy new year.
They used to be affordable trucks, not for the last few years though. A well equipped truck for 35k new, that was a reasonable price. Double it and it’s insane.
With the electronic shifter, you should tell people what happens if your truck won't start, you can't shift out of park so the vehicle can be towed. It's a major issue.
You had me till the $71,000 and the shifter. I am also curious what you think about the need to idle for AC in the south and the issues that causes for these engines. Sometimes you can get stuck in traffic for several hours or no where to go indoors. It sucks that those situations can cause issues with a super expensive vehicle.
no issues idling in situations like that. If that was a weekly occurrence though, Id move. If im stuck in traffic for 10 mins im pissed. If i had to for hours regularly Id literally quite my job and move.
@ oh come on you have been to ATL before. Plus mosquitos are so bad in the south if you were staying in one place for a while the truck is your only escape.
Fantastic truck, looks amazing. down here in South Texas chevy is king. Jason what truck do you recommend for someone that wont offroad? mainly gonna use it for commuting and hauling minor things but nothing too extreme yet being capable if the opportunity arises
ya really wanted the ZR2 when I got my LT trail boss, but didnt want the 6.2 engine, wanted the 5.3. Also, saving the 20k was kinda worth it too. I did really like the power folding mirrors in the ZR2 tho
As if trucks aren't expensive enough, and few are assembled w/ U.S. labor, in the U.S., now it's going to be interesting soon how the proposed tariffs may impact full size truck prices.
Okay, I'm in love with this truck... Did I make a mistake going with a Tremor F-250? I suppose not, it's a lot more truck, with a lot more towing and hauling capacity, but I wish I would have at least taken a flyer on one of these.
F250 tremor is an amazing truck. Personally given the choice between thos and f250 tremor I'd take the f250. Strength, solid front axle, amazing 7.3, easy to install 37s, excellent resale value.
I dont do driving reviews. They are too subjective and Im the kinda guy that doesnt care about how good shocks are or how smooth the trans is or power etc. To me I only care about its capability. so im not a good person to give a good driving impressions video.
I have a 2022 F-150 King Ranch and I can unlock the doors by placing my hand behind the door handle and I can lock the doors by pressing the lock button on the door handle without taking the key fob out of my pocket. So, I don't understand the jab 14:30 you made at Ford?
Sorry .... Chevy's inability to even admit they fu@ked-up on the 8L45 transmission is pathetic. I'll be replacing my 2017 Silverado this spring ...... and it definitely won't be a GMC product.
@ I've purchased (new from dealer) over the years; 2 Fords, 3 Chevys, 1 Tundra. By far, the 2017 Chevy was the most problematic truck for me. This week, I'm leaning toward a new Tundra in the spring ..... but, Ford may be the leader next week. I might even be coerced to visit a Dodge dealership. But, I will never buy another GM product again. Chevy's arrogance and 'my shit doesn't smell' attitude regarding their faulty transmission design has cost them a returning customer. If Toyota can 'pony up' their rotting frames & bricked engines, Chevy should've been able to replace a squirrelly transmission. My God, ask anybody with an 8L45 transmission ..... I wouldn't even give it the satisfaction of being a boat anchor. Every man needs to make his own choices in transportation. Mine happens to no longer be GMC; not because of a bad transmission, but because they won't admit they seriously screwed up.
@@TheJimbob1603 The seats are the deal breaker in the Silverado for me. Too short, narrow and hard. Have a 2020 and may be going to RAM. Never had one but a friend does and man the interior is nice and the seats are very comfortable. Not a fan on the I6 but I'm not towing a lot so it may be ok.
@Jason-Samko your ding dong ass is out showing a "Truck" gloss right over the main reason people buy one and shoot right over to some stupid seat cubby. Get real.
Id take a pw over any full size or hd vehicle made today. Love the pw. But anytime I mention the silverado zr2 is only full size with front lockers 500 Power wagon owners jump on my saying "no its not, powerwagon does" power wagon is an hd, not a full size.
I’m sorry but 70k is not priced right unless your last name is musk just saying not many people can afford that plus a soon as you take it off the lot it’s worth half that
Wow gm another shade of gray..good god, you’ve have 3 shades of grey since 2012, be a leader , get away from grey!! Ohh wait they can’t cause that’s what all the sheep want, grey furniture, grey flooring, grey cabinets, grey tv stands ,etc..ohh I forgot gray paint on the walls…ugly trend.

Ram power wagon has locking front and rear !! With the 6.4 v8 is a beast. Add 37 inch. Tires wow. Also has a winch. Yes its a 2500. But rides good

Should come standard with rock rails or high clearance steps .

Wow thanks for this review the ZR2 is s great truck I had no idea, I'm thinking about upgrading from nissan frontier to full size truck

I fancy the GMC variant over the Chevy

Just disconnect the linkage. Takes 30 seconds. Tow truck drivers do it all the time.
Why not just comment since it has a computer chip one day the software can become a glitch then what are you gonna do?
Love that new color. It’s a great truck and one of the few with triple lockers.
Should have 35s, I agree. Full size trucks make 33s look so small lol

I am looking forward to the 2025 trail boss trim level to become available sometime this spring.

Great motor. Great truck
Can you get 35's if you upgrade to the AEV Bison package ?
I believe the silverado 1500 bison is still on 33s. The HD bison is on 35s but no front locker
