Note 8 is still my beast . I played with new Iphones/Androids and I would not say good bye to my Note 8 for any. The display is wonderful, the proc is so fast with no lag. The only thing I did is that I changed the battery and the back cover (break it couple of times) . And the beast is alive and more powerfull. Is so amazing to see it everyday working like 3 years ago. No complain. Is one of the last good things done in our days. Ill keep it for couple of years at least. Pictures are so beautiful and colors so alive. Im happy. They did a mistake. They did it very good and so strong. Is a real undercover beast.

I have the Note 8 and it’s the second Note 8 due to the first one getting a hardware fault in the charging usb c slot. Now my second Note 8 has the fault and I charge wirelessly all the time. The headphone socket that hardly is used, also not working. I am still using the phone for now, however will be upgrading soon. I never had a issue with the fingerprint sensors position and you get use to the position quite quickly. I think it’s over hyped about the position being difficult to touch.

It has a large dead pixel spot in the middle of the screen and it has really bad screen burn in from watching TH-cam videos on it for so long, but no bad scratches or nothing. I have an otter box case and i will now and forevermore always go with otterbox it has saved my phones life 100x over, the case itself is completely worn down all of the buttons are completely smooth accept for the Bixby button. It really has a lot going for it. I paid $1000 for it, but I've had it for at least 4 years and it is better in many ways than my laptop. It's great for photo editing and video as well. All in all I'd recommend this phone over the a series phones as I was previously a note user but back in 2017 after my note 4 I switched to the A series Samsung's first was a samsung galaxy a7 2017 then the 2018 a7 and then I ended up getting a a50 but I have to say moving back to the note 8 was so worth it I've missed the s pen and the screen wow definitely holds compared to Samsung's mid range devices in performance but the built the note 8 is on next level

My ONLY complaint about this phone is that the screen will burn images whenever using a screen for an extended period of time. My keyboard is a visible shadow that never goes away. I still prefer my Note8 over everything else I have tried and I am currently using my third one. I love the 35mm jack and would try the newer Notes if they hadn't changed that one feature.

@dula peep The jack also supports both of my external microphones, computer speakers, the headset base for the wireless earphones for my mother's television and the traditional style headset that my elderly mother uses when she talks on the phone because she can't hold or hear through the smart phone speakers. Not to mention people who have to wear hearing aids can't use earbuds you ignorant jerk. Mind your own business.

Its a great phone and I still have it. Still using the note 8. I don't recommend anyone to buy it, unless you can get it for really cheap. IMO its better to get a 2 year old flagship phone. Mine was a year and half year, refubished flagship. It still had a 9 month warrently from Samsung. I check at the Samsung store and they confirmed it. I would get a year and half or a 2 year phone. I think that is the sweat spot for the price. My note 8 is still running fast, but I know Samsung will slow it down eventually.
If you don't care and don't use it much, then it's different. You can always turn on and off the data to save battery. I did that with the note 4, four or five times a day and the battery did not drain. If I kept data on then in would drain in 2 hours. If you need a phone for work, even though it's running great right now, I would not recommend the note 8, Samsung could eventually slow it down.
I guess most of the people watching this, already have a note 8 lol

Functionally my N8 was a great phone and the only one I purchased at the end of lease. Although once announced that it wasn't receiving any further updates the future started to become useless. Then I received an offer too good to be true for new phones. While I intended to wait until the S21 I jumped to Note20 Ultra 5g which now appears to be the best choice.

Still using the note 8 today. Poco F3 at £300 is the closest feature wise I can find that wouldn't be considered downgrading.
You do gain 5G and 128-256gb storage but loose wireless charging, the s-pen, samsung pay and dex. Cameras, NFC, wifi and bluetooth are close enough to be a wash.
Its getting close to the point ill upgrade but when a battery replacement is £200 ill likely go for that instead and get another 2years out of it
