    Nice! I started pulling my fuel pump fuse after an oil change and cranking it over a few times to prime the oil filter.

    • @illiniwood

      That is completely unnecessary. The new oil flows throughout the entire engine before it gets to the dry filter. It's impossible for the engine to experience oil starvation at any time due to an unprimed filter. It's not necessary to prefill your oil filter either, plus you're just giving your starter a workout it doesn't need.

    If you have long primate arms you can change your shitbox filter from over the top. Most normal upright species remove the wheel or go from underneath 😆 😆

    I always go at my Element filter from over the tire. Still can't see it, but once you feel it, it is easy to get off and on. I also use ramps under the front wheels for easy access and maximum oil drainage.

      Yep, I think I started the car and moved it like 4 times trying to decide where to shoot the video so it was a little low on charge. Also if the car sits for a few days it cranks weak. It may be time for a new battery soon but that tiny little battery just keeps going.

    What do you do with the pan full of oil once it's out of the car?

    • @clintsearcy3252
      @clintsearcy3252  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a great question. I put the oil oil in old two liter coke bottles (I'm an addict...) When I have a full bottle I have a local trash dump that allows me to drop of oil for recycling. If that's not an option you can ask your local parts store if they accept used oil. Most do these days.
      AutoZone:
      WHAT SHOULD YOU DO WITH SUCCESSFULLY COLLECTED OIL?
      Depending on where you live, you may be able to turn your used motor oil in via your city’s curbside recycling program. If your city does allow for this, make sure you carefully research packaging requirements and protocol. (Never simply toss a container of used motor oil into your standard recycling bin.) If curbside recycling for motor oil isn’t a possibility in your city, then you’ll need to make plans to drop it off yourself at a participating recycling center.
      Don’t worry if you’re not quite sure where to take your oil or if the nearest recycling center is a little off the beaten trail for you. Most AutoZone stores accept used motor oil, as well as other sensitive recyclables (like batteries). Get in touch with your friendly neighborhood location today for all the details. When you’re done dropping off your used oil, you can pick up a fresh jug of new engine oil while you’re there. Get started today!

    Nice oil filler cap...anodized aluminum. I always drain from a hot engine just turned off then let it sit for an hour, unfortunately with the E, you can burn your arm on the exhaust manifold. Need to inspect the oil filter after removal to ensure the gasket came off with it. Sometimes it sticks to the block and you can't easily see it there. I liked your plug at the end of the video about the filters. With a few exceptions, how often you change oil is way more important than the quality of the filter. I use Fram. 7:06 Did you remove your oil pressure sensor? There's an open hole above the filter for which I think is the sensor.

    • @clintsearcy3252
      @clintsearcy3252  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that high boost oil cap is a must! The open hole isn't open. There's a plug in is for something. I assume if for an oil presser switch of some work for an other application. .

      Yea, it's probably not 100% necessary but these things are so fickle about their oil systems I figure... why not.
