    Yo! Don't remove spark plug boots like that. The valve cover is extremely thin and the inside ring isn't soft material its rigid. You can easily crack it doing that. Instead, using a flat head screwdriver, or small punch, tap those suckers out by placing it on the rigid rim. Remove and reseat the new guys carefully.

      You're mistaken. It's just an oil seal like any other. The valve cover is 1/8 thick cast aluminum. There are no cracks in the cover and it has 310,000 miles.

      @@clintsearcy3252 Hi Clint, Great videos! The compressor bolts are stuck. The main frame/sub frame bolt is also frozen. I decided to leave the compressor and removed the A/C clutch yesterday per your video. :).The friction plate was full of rust. The water pump is wobbly, so the removal is today. Because of the amount of noise, I'm thinking I should inspect the timing chain slack while I have it apart. I recently checked the oil screens, VTOC and by the tensioner but did not find any irregular sediment. There are no error codes, but the noise is bad enough that there could be a tensioner problem?? Maybe? Thanks!

      All I do to reset codes is unhook the battery for a minute or so.

      @@clintsearcy3252 Yes I have done this aswell, And the check engine light, VSA & traction control lights all went away, Reving is past 3K aswell, But the p2646 & p2647 codes, Either never went away or came back… I’m thinking I gotta get a OBD2 reader to manually erase those codes (Limp mode is killing my gas mileage)

      I had some of those super bright brake lights for a few weeks. Then I realized "Wow... I'm a super douche bag for blinding everyone behind me with these." So I swapped them back. But these things are just silly. Props to the guy for trying to use his turn signals I guess but these blinky lights just make that a moot point.

      @@clintsearcy3252 I just thought I’d give people an extra warning that I was stopping. Plus I no longer drive at night due to those fantastic OEM cloudy headlight covers and I have night blindness. I will ask my friends to let me know if they are blinding or annoying to them….

      No, I don't believe the Element has separate PS filter.

    NOTE: If you have TPMS sensors in your tires, don't go yoink the valve stems off. The sensor is part of the stem. I mean, you can, but that will be an expensive repair.

    Clint, are you jacking right at the spot where the sway link connects to the control arm? Ive never considered that as a jacking point. Would make some simple tasks easier. I suppose you could jack in the same spot(s) in the rear as well? Very helpful vid. Thx!

      I am, there are folks who say that you should not jack up a car using moving suspension components and I won't say they are wrong. But everyone once in a while I do it this way.

    I've run over the tire carefully to break the bead with my truck. That way i can use a garden hose. Also a razor blade on the backside of the valve stem is a 1 second job. I love your videos, Clint!

      @clintsearcy3252 I'm always careful to mark the tire and rim before. If I need to break the bead on both sides to completely remove the tire, I have the tire re balanced if it's been over 10k. Dish soap works very well. I just have factory steel rims.

    Nice! One of these bungee straps was removed and tucked inro the seat pocket of the Element I just bought. I'm stringing it up now. This will be perfect to restrain propane products or an Oompa Loompa, if necessary. Thanks!

    my 02 odyssey has the exact same issue of the broken roller. Driver side sliding door is jumpy when closes, the bracket is just as loose. Glad to see its easy to do.

      If you can get the door panel off you need to pull down on the point where the cable used to hook.

    Nice job. You dont need to take the hose off the power steering pump. Use Some grease to hold the nut on the tensioner in place. Usually it ends up behind the alternator if it falls Its usually the other screen that gets filled with crud. On the other side if the head. Pull the Vtec solenoid out too and clean the screens on it. Im one of those Canadias

    Wow super helpful!! I keep having this issue too. The shop literally just changed the filter last week and I have the same issue again. Do you think maybe the oil pan might be dirty ? Or does anyone know of any other ideas ?

      That may be an issue. I chased this problem for months before I got it to go away. I think in the end it was gunk in my oil pan that kept fouling out my VTEC. Once I did enough oil changes it finally started clearing up. I change oil and filter every 3000 to 4000 miles now.

    These are the best kind of auto repair videos. Just showing the process of moving thru the unknown. I think that builds confidence in people much more than a dry and straight forward step by step video. My 03 highlander has 415k miles on it. Water pump needs replacing and my local, trusted shop wants $1200 for it. In 2020 I had it done there and it was $700 🤷🏼‍♂️ inflation I guess, it’s a killer lol I’ll be tackling this next week! Thanks again sir you’ve just saved me! 🎉

    Clint, I have used the rub on and really like the results. My wife’s E has the metallic blue panels. One of the previous owners tried something on the panels, which splotched the pudding out of them. Now I need to find something that will take the splotches out, or maybe just switch my gray parts with hers and then just bed liner the blue ones 🥴🫣🤔😎

      Clint, have you had to deal with the Air Mix Control Motor in your Element yet? We tripped over to the coast yesterday, and because we’ve had an unusually long hot summer we haven’t used the heater yet, that is until last night. Guess what, yep no heat. My best guess using Honda’s service manual (volume 2), is the air mix control motor 🤔 The manual makes it sound easy, but 🥴

    Clint, I really enjoy your uploads! A few videos back I mentioned I have a 2004 Honda CR-V EX with an oil leak. I've purchased my wife a newish car so I can diagnose the oil leak and fix or sell as is. If anyone is interested, 2500 obo takes it. I'm in SWVA.

      The worst oil leaks I have seen on my Hondas have all come from the VTEC gaskets blowing out. This Van included. Have you found out where yours is coming from?

      @@clintsearcy3252 I replaced the VTEC solenoid pack with Honda OEM that included the new gasket. I need to put dye in the oil. I've got too many vehicles, lol!

      @@Rusty-Shackleford69 One thing I learned early on about that gasket is that if you don't get the torque right on those three bolts that hold the VTEC on it will leak like crazy.
