I had a 2001 Camry CE that developed a check engine light that turned out to be an evap code. Scotty suggested in another video that Shell gasoline could cure the problem. I burned nearly all the gas in this car and then filled it up with Shell gasoline. The check engine light went out and the code disappeared after burning half a tank. I added ATS oil additive to my 2012 Camry LE hybrid with 147K miles yesterday. The oil that came out of the engine was nearly black after this treatment! This ATS gas treatment is next for this Camry! I wish that I lived next door to Scotty. He is a true automotive savant. Trust what he says implicitly!

@@CoffeeonKorriban awesome! I had an 01 tundra that I owned till just about 300k miles. It was in the family since new, and still ran like new when I got rid of it last year for scrap... It's a little sad seeing scotty get old I've been watching him for over 10 years, but I hope he gets to live till 100 or even more and be healthy the entire way through since he deserves it
Neighbour’s caddy CTS almost as old with high mileage and almost pristine. Front bumper was replaced but rest orig. Thanks Scotty!! I put Bernie’s in my car and it went from 16 mpg to 27 to 30 mpg😮. I also used the motor oil treatment and boy was the oil dirty. Saved me a lot of money on repairs.
The cleaner that Scotty dumps in the tank is from ATS carbon clean and called "505 CRF" for fuel and "505 CRO" for oil. The MSDS, aside from mystery ingredients under "TRADE SECRETS", says active ingredients are "Dipentene", Limonene, turpentine, some kind of organic peroxide, and "oil". Dipentene is a tree-based oil used in solvents and pharmaceuticals.
Hey Scotty, I got a 07 Chevrolet cobalt. I security lights on and I can’t get it to shut off. I got power to everything but it still won’t start or turn over.
I have followed Scotty's advice and purchased the Lucas Lubricant / injector cleaner with immediate results. I drive a Scion iQ with the Toyota 1.3L sewing machine engine. Hwy economy went from 6L/100kms to 5L/100kms. Broken down that works out to approximently 50kms (30mi) further per tank of fuel. All this at a cost of $11.99CAN. I may not be saving any money with the additive but my car and the environment is happier about it.
A bad fuel injector symptom is so much like the symptom of a bad spark plug. I didn't know that until I got a vehicle with a fuel injector for each cylinder. The first symptom was bad gas mileage.
I had this misfire feel with my Subaru. I bought one ignition coil off rockauto, and luckily the first cylinder I tried was the issue. Cylinder 1 misfire was fixed. No more hesitation and my mileage went up by 6 or 7.
Hey Scotty, years ago you recommended using Lacquer Thinner to clean the fuel system and fix a catalytic converter. Might that have worked in this case? Or do you think buying a more expensive product specifically sold for this purpose would be better?
It's a bummer because the fuel additive company that you recommend is out of the fuel additive and the oil cleaner additive at this time. I've been wanting to get some for a while, and then seeing you once again recommend it, I finally decided to spend the money and get a couple of their kits. Scotty, I have a 2017 Toyota Prado, four-cylinder turbo diesel, reading from the odometer is 167,000 km and it was consuming 11.6 L per 100 km I dump some of this stuff in the diesel tank and when I change the oil I dump some in the oil of course it’s the gray one for the oil not the one you show in the video and my goodness after driving 600 km I went to fill the tank and check the reading again and we were down to 10.3 L per kilometer. So this stuff works in the oil and in the diesel. Brand new Toyota Prado will get 10.1 L per 100 km. Bear in mind this is full-time four-wheel-drive. I guess my question is how frequently should I use it in the oil and how frequently should I use it in the diesel tank? Thanks for everything you post.

I just recently used the ATS kit and I am shocked the results isn't very good. Fuel mileage seems worst and lifter is ticking louder than it has been since I owned my car for the past 60k miles of its life.
Wow! Such a nice rig! I bought a 2003 Land Cruiser last month with 342,000 miles for $3500 as well, the interior is in rough shape but engine and transmission are buttery smooth after I replaced the #1 coil and spark plug! ABS is Air Bag Sensor? I thought it had to do with brakes. Now does the airbag still work FFS? Because my van has that light on. And I want airbag protection
Scotty what do you think of a 2020 Toyota Corolla SE? I recently got one and I think it’s a fun zippy car but not sure how good the transmissions or even 2.0 engine in it is. It says CVT but can manually shift gears on the gear selector or with paddle shifters, and changes gears noticeably while driving so I’m not sure what kind of CVT transmission it is.

it is a standard CVT transmission, it's just programed to act more like a transmission with gears because the "rubber band" feeling you get from CVT's puts a lot of people off. Toyota makes a fine CVT.
@@volvo09 wrong. the 2020 corolla has a physical starting gear, then goes into cvt. This new design is replacing the previous design which scotty says is pretty much the best in the industry.. all the information you need is on wikipedia.

Great video, thank you. question: I have a 2010 Acura TSX with about 135k miles. It runs great, but the last 3 years I have only driven maybe 1k or 2k miles per year. Would you recommend for me to clean the fuel injectors, even if I have no symptoms?
Hi Scotty! I love your channel. I’ve been following you for years, and I’m happy to see your followers growing every day. I have a 2019 Honda Accord hybrid that I bought brand new. Weeks ago two different person approached to me randomly to tell me they had the same model, but just a year older and theirs died around the 140,000 miles (they are Uber drivers just like myself). @@tooltime9260, They said that the engine went out and the dealer will not repair them. I think you are right, mine is running so smoothly that is hard to believe that the engine will die in 40 thousand more miles…
So nice, Scotty said it one more time. When it has a manual transmission you don't have to worry about it, like the automatic ones. Manual is the king.
When you have a manual transmission, it's usually way easier to fix and less expensive than an automatic transmission. So yes, it's the king if you care about not spending crazy money on your car.
scotty we received paperwork from kia on our 2016 sorento telling us to park our vehicle outside that because of the anti-lock braking system it could catch fire wow and they said the fix is changing a fuse.
I love any human who passes down knowledge I’m always open ears ready to screw up a couple times to better myself in the future

Scotty, should we change the fuel filter after running this cleaner through? What happens to the bad fuel that goes through?
Scotty is sniffing the cleaner again! Explains a lot.
That's cold man !
THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO. I OWN A 2015 BUICK ENCORE AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. HAD IT CHECKED OUT AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE CATALITIC CONVERTOR. I USED THE GUMOUT MULTI CLEANER TUNE UP AND BINGO HAD THE CHECK ENGINE LITE RESET AND HAS NOT COME BACK ON. HOW MANY TIMES CAN I USE A CAN OF THIS IN MY CAR TO CONTINUE IT TO RUN BETTER THAN IT EVER HAS????? THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS
Wouldn't dirty clogged injectors cause lean trims? I'm confused
It can cause injectors to stay open and cause a rich fuel trim.
Love Scotty hand talk..I see the video with out audio and Play a Simponhy and Scotty becomes the MASTER OF MECHANIC SYMPHONY. THANK YOU SCOTTY LOVE THE INFO AND YOUR VIDEOS. THANK YOU, THANK YOU.
That guy got a deal. Out here in high gas price california where one would think owners would be trying to offload those and buy a Tesla a 90s vintage Lx470 is at least 3-4 times that amount for a high mileage suv.
Funny enough, I used to live in California. :P would've never tried to buy it there.
Just so you know…your not allowed to ever retire from making great, helpful, insightful and funny videos. Don’t even think about it!😁 Okay…please and thank you!
It has a strong odor of turpentine. It does work well....I have used it on several of my vehicles.👍
How often (between miles) do you use it.
@@markdougherty1636 I am waiting for the 7,500 mile mark for the 2 vehicles I put it in. One is at 5,000 miles since adding it the car....a Subaru...is noticeably smoother. This product is unlike any other I've tried. I am a big Liqui Moly fan but this product works even better IMO.
@@mikerieck306 Thank you.
Way to go Scotty you just brought me more information that I didn't know I need that I can put to Everyday Use
Imagine how amazing and prosperous and better the World would be if everyone did their WORK with honesty, instead of trying to rip off and squeeze every penny out of each other.

Because of Scotty I'm holding on to my 240K Hyundai ioniq cat converter until it's perfect time to replace it....thanks again Mr Scotty for the wonderful lacquer thinner blog ...it's forever science and I'm very grateful of your videos
Chevron With Techron for a GDI motor > 3.5 EB
I just recently used the ATS kit and I am shocked the results isn't very good.
Fuel mileage seems worst and lifter is ticking louder than it has been since I owned my car for the past 60k miles of its life.
Don't always take advise from some guy on the internet. Theres a reason he's promoting this stuff on so many different videos.
@@PhatChanceAthat at $60 a kit I kinda thought it would work
@@PhatChanceAthat yea, bc it usually works..... btw, it's spelled advice....

Yup I tried it too. No improvement
One of the most reliable vehicles ever made!
I can't find CRF 505, do they not sell it anymore?
Yo
$3500 for that. That owner is lucky
Im not convinced!
Okay? More like $14k
Yeah, I'm very blessed to have found it! A few more things to fix, like the AC compressor, and it'll be good for a while!
@Brandon Keightinn They have cars on Craigslist with 300,000 plus mileage selling for more
@Brandon Keightinn yeah, these things aren't cheap. You'd be hard pressed to find a running one without rust for under $7k.
the o2 sensor probably sending inaccurate data to the ecm making the fuel ratio off, I would change the o2 sensor
holy crap thats the best looking car with 330k ive ever seen. GOALS!!!!! MY CIVIC WILL GET TO 300K and look this good.
This man's videos has helped me trouble shot alot of stuff.
Wow! Such a nice rig! I bought a 2003 Land Cruiser last month with 342,000 miles for $3500 as well, the interior is in rough shape but engine and transmission are buttery smooth after I replaced the #1 coil and spark plug! Due to misfiring. Thank you Scotty 😊 learn all the tips and tricks from you over the past few years! Now my LC keeps throwing a code P0430, I used the liquid stuff, used better gas quality, cleaned the MAF, still didn't help! Help me Scotty 😊
Thank you for all your videos!
John
Po 430 is a Catalytic converter code .
Try some " Cataclean " in your fuel but read the directions first .
You can get it at Walmart .
I used it on a 2005 Highlander with the same po 430 code and it cleared the code .
Try replacing your maf sensor
I have a LAUNCH scanner for what I understand good model x431 v+ v4.0 and I am just learning how to use it there is so much to learn with this thing.
My old 97 Tahoe still runs better than many of my families newer cars they don't make them like that anymore metal bumpers no check engine lights
So this cleaner is better than Seafoam I’m guessing?
That car has been loved and cared for.
Not saying but if they drove it to you nat far was it the cleaner or just from drive it for awhile
Definitely the cleaner, I put about 3 gallons of gas through it before I brought it to Scotty and after using the cleaner there was a significant difference, and now the shuddering is completely gone
I love you scotty, please keep making videos every day you are putting great info out there!!
Clean Lexus scotty, nice ride, I use only Sunoco gas in my Toyota, and never had problems since 2014, common sense goes a long way
That Lexus IS still in great shape they took care of her

ABS is Air Bag Sensor? I thought it had to do with brakes. Now does the airbag still work FFS? Because my van has that light on. And I want airbag protection
Scotty what do you think of a 2020 Toyota Corolla SE? I recently got one and I think it’s a fun zippy car but not sure how good the transmissions or even 2.0 engine in it is. It says CVT but can manually shift gears on the gear selector or with paddle shifters, and changes gears noticeably while driving so I’m not sure what kind of CVT transmission it is.
Scotty doesn't answer questions here
I have the same car, same year even. At a stop it jerks at times, shifting into gear. Just curious as to whether you've also experienced this.
@@anonymouslabera mine just past 34k miles and I only got it two weeks ago, I’m not sure I’ve experienced any issues yet just wasn’t sure if it was something that is new or a tested transmission. Also not sure where he answers questions then I guess the website I wasn’t sure.
it is a standard CVT transmission, it's just programed to act more like a transmission with gears because the "rubber band" feeling you get from CVT's puts a lot of people off.
Toyota makes a fine CVT.
@@volvo09 wrong. the 2020 corolla has a physical starting gear, then goes into cvt. This new design is replacing the previous design which scotty says is pretty much the best in the industry..
all the information you need is on wikipedia.
There was a time where everyone had to have an emissions test every single year in the state of Tennessee before you got your new tags for that year. So you newcomers including you Scotty are very lucky.
Is it possible to get that ATS cleaner shipped to England?
I live in the same county as that owner. Nice looking LX. Good video, I think I need to do this to mine as well.
Thanks, man! Knox county is a great area.
That Lexus looks great.
Yea I need to get some of this product …because I feel that In my car and it sat for a little over 3 years now I have a injector code
Great video, thank you. question: I have a 2010 Acura TSX with about 135k miles. It runs great, but the last 3 years I have only driven maybe 1k or 2k miles per year. Would you recommend for me to clean the fuel injectors, even if I have no symptoms?
In my opinion , don't fix what isnt broken .
If it runs good , just use a quality High test gas and you should be fine .
Teckron orielys $12 ,,,Ace hardware thinner $4 same results, been using this trick for 53 years!
Do you know anything about that? Should I get rid of mine before reaching that mileage? (Mine is almost 100k).
Thank you in advance for your help. Best wishes to you, my friend!
@@tooltime9260, They said that the engine went out and the dealer will not repair them. I think you are right, mine is running so smoothly that is hard to believe that the engine will die in 40 thousand more miles…
check for recall.. same like my kia car.. engine stop workong at 100k.. sold it before it stops working.. bettwr sell and buy a corolla
I’ve watched 100’s of scotty’s videos and was just wondering if he would be able to talk if someone taped his hands down to his side’s?
Thanks scotty for your expert advice 👍 I learn something new every day 👏
Can you do a special on 2016 dodge caravans and why they shift a little hard or jumpy or why they die at idling?
So nice, Scotty said it one more time. When it has a manual transmission you don't have to worry about it, like the automatic ones. Manual is the king.
When you have a manual transmission, it's usually way easier to fix and less expensive than an automatic transmission. So yes, it's the king if you care about not spending crazy money on your car.
@@marvinshenk and if you want it to last longer, and have more fun driving.... automatics are usually boring
scotty we received paperwork from kia on our 2016 sorento telling us to park our vehicle outside that because of the anti-lock braking system it could catch fire wow and they said the fix is changing a fuse. What really is bad recall letters are not even coming out until Nov 2023, geez, what do you think? Love your videos, keep up the good work, thanks.
Holy $hit. That has 334,000 miles and that engine bay and interior is flawless.
It's my detail guy. You should've seen it a few weeks ago!
@@CoffeeonKorriban I saw the picture he posted of the mice nest in there before and it's hard to believe that's the same vehicle. Your friend does an amazing job and next time I'm in Tennessee I'll have to get him to clean my vehicle.
@@davidkmillerphotography all you have to do is learn and have patience and some time . I do it on the side, I love it bc I love doing something you can see the before and after when you're finished.
