Hi, I have an '04 Element with this same armrest console. My issue is the button on the front of the console does not pop back out to lock the armrest in the desired position. I have to use needle nose pliers to pull the button out far enough so the armrest can lock in place. I opened the insides of the armrest and noticed a black spring is loosely hanging from a metal rod. My intuition tells me the spring has become detached but I don't have a clue if/where it should be re-attached. Help! Thanks
I bought a soft ice chest with a hard plastic liner, that fits perfectly. It works as storage, an arm rest AND I can use it as its intended purpose..It works so good, am surprised Honda hasn't picked up on it..It looks good and the fit is PERFECT! It works for both driver and passenger. ----Walmart $13.00
Excellent vid mate - That Element is an LX, which did not have arm rests like in the EX models - And those armrests in excellent condition go for hundreds of dollars now - The salvage yard definitely missed the boat letting it go for $10, wow...
Curious what you plan to do with the passenger side for an armrest. On our 08 LX anyway there is no mount there unlike the driver's side. Which I found out after buying an armrest and bracket for it...

The cover for the seat did it have a zipper or u cut it
The cover for the 09 up definitely has a zipper. 07-08 I believe it has one too. The 03-06 you have to disconnect the tabs and pull the cover up.

There should be a Little spring that goes behind the bottom. If you remove the push button, it should have a tube like hole where the spring goes.

Ah....my '05 EX sure didn't have an armrest at all- I did install this same armrest which at the time was available not too expensively.......

The Air bag Module sits in that location for the passenger seat in LX models...

These are OEM got them for $100, average price. Go to your local junkyards that where I find them. I found a set for a friend for $50 once.

Junkyard dude, I find them all the time for $10 to $20 bucks. Make sure to take off the mounting kit and bolts.
