Perfect. Very helpful. We didn't believe it would take only 45 minutes to replace the motor. The most challenging part was replacing the spring without the tool. Otherwise a perfect detailed video. Thank you!!
@@sandspringsgirlplease explain further. I'm stretching it with pliers and levering it with screwdrivers and only managing to scratch the paint. Argh.
Ordered the part from Repair Clinic almost midnight Monday, had part by noon Thursday (today), followed directions on video, now have working washing machine, thank you God! Repair Clinic is highly recommended, was a factory LG replacement part for my LG washer. Just a tad different from video (which shows a Kenmore). Thank you so much for the step by step video and thank you to my husband for doing the work! Took about an hour.
My Pump mounting has three 10mm hhcs bolts holding the pump to the base and 5 Philip’s head screws, holding the pump to that plate. I had to disconnect 3 hoses to get the pump out. There are no screws to remove for my control panel. It just snaps in and out. For the record this video made it easy for me to get through to be able to identify my differences, so I am thankful!!
This video was outstanding and was instrumental in helping me do the job myself. The pump replacement was easy and saved me literally hundreds of dollars. Note that after the pump replacement, I got an "IE" error. By coincidence only I presume, it was a water INLET error. Found the filter on the washing machine COLD water intake valve clogged due heavy mineral water we use. Cleaned delicate filter with took pick...and all is well!! Thanks for such a great video.
Parts were slightly different on my Kenmore washer but this video helped a ton. Well laid out and explained everything you need to know. Only thing to note is if you don't have a spring expansion tool it's a pain to get the boot back on. I used a wrench and some zip ties to get it back on.
Thank you so much for your wonderful tutorial video. I was able to do everything, except when I went to put everything back, the door is not latching shut anymore. It is not catching. I had a heckuva time getting the wire connector unlatched from the door, so maybe broke it? Are the sensitive? What could I have done wrong? Do I need to buy a new door latch now? Should I just try to unplug door latch connector again and plug it back in? Any tips would be appreciated.
I found that removing the two screws holding the door latch was easy -- after giving up on pulling the door latch connector. You might've broken the connector or its wires. An ohmmeter can be useful to check the connections if you can access the other end of the cable. Or remove it via the screws and examine it closely.
It's a lot easier just to tip the washing machine and take the pump out from the bottom. If you don't mind laying on your back for a few minutes while doing the work. Saved me a ton of time versus following these instructions
LG washer with OE code Would not drain , cycle interrupted Cleaned all filters and tubes, no luck Sounded like pump not working or at least having trouble pumping water Ordered new LG pump followed excellent video instructions test wash cycle running now, sounds great already cleaned the recirculate side and yellow spray nozzle at top of drum also cleaned 6 oclock drain in the rubber gasket and cleaned the outlet, lots of buildup black drain hose was completely clogged with black gritty mess, my guess is this is what burned out pump Thank you for great information
Hi! I’m at the 2:42 mark and my kenmoore filter is attached to a metal bracket? Do I remove that instead? Or is there still a clip/latch? Thank you in advance!
Just something to add. The pump on my LG is half magnet, so the rotor turns in jumps, and might appear to be sticky with debris. I took it out of the unit only to find it had no problem. I have a washer / dryer unit, and the problem was built up debris in the dryer parts.
I am stuck on the step where I'm supposed to push the tab on the pump housing to release the pump housing. It's like it's sitting on a metal ledge. No tab to push. Stuck here without trying it on its back and taking a bunch of other screws out. There's got to be an easier way. Mine is a Kenmore. All steps were the same until this step. Help!
Is this Video applicable to this LG Model WM3470HWA? I followed all instructions from the video and already remove the front panel but to remove, and snap out the pump assembly from the washer my model is different from what I see in the video, It doesn't have the 2 screws near the drain tube I dont see or feel a holding tab so I can remove the pump I do so a metal frame connected with 3 Flange Bolts screws on the matal frame and I am not sure if I do need to remove it
My front load opensfrom the bac, not the top, I have a Kenmore front load whirlpool & it dose not in spin or agitate anymore, nither does the timer relay go to O ,keeps on ruining .will not stop doing the same thing until I cancel manually.ty...please help!!!! Would that have anything to do with the MOTOR??

I replaced my drain pump and checked that all the lines are clear but it still won't drain. I can hear and feel that the drain pump is running but it just wont drain. Any ideas?

Yeah, the spring is a booger, lol. Finally got it by using a flat head screwdriver and "prying" around the edges to make it go on.

2:21 Be aware that many similar models have a separate re-circ pump located on the right side of the pump housing as shown.
Gat Parker, In most cases you can reverse the wires on two wire motors that use AC voltage and it will still run properly.
Does it matter where the wires connected to pump?
No problem! We're happy we could help!
Hi! I’m at the 2:42 mark and my kenmoore filter is attached to a metal bracket? Do I remove that instead? Or is there still a clip/latch? Thank you in advance!
Same situation I'm in right now... did you figure out a solution?
@@jaredvahl9142 yeah, unfortunately youve got a little more work, but there’s 3 bolts or so you have to remove. You’re almost at the finish line!
Got it. 10mm socket with an extension and a ratchet
Victory at last!

Thank you for posting. Easy peasy. Back in service.
Some units have bottom access that is a bit less complicated.

Could never have done this without this video. Awesome step by step instructions. Thank you.
Hello I removed the drain pump but now the washer machine does not fill with water. I verified the hose, filter, water pressure etc. Please advice

Same thing happened to me. Did you figure it out?
Phenomenal video, I'm a boob and was able to do this in a hour or so.
Great explanation. I went to order this part from your site and at checkout was told that part couldn't be shipped to Canada 😞

Great video - I used it to replace the pump and the pipe - great directions.
Sean Ballington We appreciate your feedback.
What happens if i connect the pump motor wires wrong?
Great video. Thank you

Excellent instruction video
Mine is giving me an "OE" code and wont drain. I hear the pump working. Just dont know if thats the problem.
Great directions. It took about 20 minutes to repair my machine. Too bad there isn't any videos on how to replace the main pump of a Bosch dishwasher.
"Detach the control panel mounting tabs, and move the panel out of the way." You make that part look too easy
Not to sound ungrateful, sorry. Thanks for the clear instructions! Very helpful!
