I hate discretion in enforcement. Just leads to prejudice.
It isn't a speed camera - it doesn't record any footage. It's a speedmeter.
So all it proves is a car was speeding, it gives no evidential proof about WHICH car was speeding. they only evidence of which car was speeding is the police officers testimony. So one man's word against another! And remember the Police officer is not a disinterested witness.

You guys should be ashamed of yourself wasting tax pays money penalizing non violent crimes which are not really crimes because of ridiculously slow speed limits.
Does the speed increase if the device itself is being moved or it has to be steady in a fixed position to be accurate?

welshpete12 speed doesn’t kill. then we must all give up driving and walk hundreds of miles a day. only inappropriate speed kills. even the road layouts and surfaces are built safe to drive 10mph more than the speed limit set on. and you can get killed either way if you cross the road like a donkey, child or an adult.

How can the law be satisfied that any driver that is pulled-in allegedly for speeding is the same driver recorded on the speed camera, surely it follows that without video evidence that gun could have been pointed at any speeding vehicle? The officer stated that they have discretion on who is considered speeding, what a ridiculous thing to say.
All them cars must be scrapped now in 2020

All this is to pay the government consolidated fund which in turn pays the civil list and the judge s pocket basically a government s cash cow

Beam will have spread no more than three inches. Right? At what distance? Picks up pedestrians as well. That seems pretty fragile to me immediately. At what was the 'beam' directed? Can it be proven. This is typical of a dyed in the wool wannabe traffic cop. Does it (the copper) have any understanding of simple trigonometry? I suspect it doesn't.
