Don’t forget to watch out for police bikes pointing toward you parked on the side of the road. The officer looking into the top box at the cctv bikes speed camera display on a laptop. Don’t know if they still have it but Warwickshire Police had a Honda NT700 setup that I have seen used in 30mph limits.
There wasn't a front number plate on *mine* either, but I got 3 points & a £100 fine last year. My fault, blaming no-one else...🙄 - 75 in a 60 on our bypass. BTW, it's *not* "all about money". 2 weeks ago, 5 bikers died in 2 separate collisions on Derbyshire roads & this weekend, 2 more have died on North Yorkshire roads. Obviously I don't know if speed was a factor but the police say that the hardest thing to do is knock on a door & inform families that their family member isn't coming home. I've been on (& occasionally *off!* ) bikes for over 50 years. At 69, I still enjoy it.
All cameras and vans should be camouflaged or hidden, the speed limits are there for a reason. Where I live it’s on a private estate with a 3pm-h limit, it should be 20 there are still morons that do well over 50 or more even though there are children here.
1700iDiGuy most camera vans have cameras facing both ways t catch plates on vehicles like bikes now. It’s also legal for the operator to log the plate if he manages to in the uk
Camera Vans in my area have Cameras all round, If there is no front plate you will have been recorded from the rear as you pass by, all recordings are time/date stamped and synced to the Video speed camera. They also record other offences such as no seatbelt & using a handheld phone.
Xeria_ lol they a pain in Yorkshire like. Never see them in the 30 or 40 zones they always hiding round a corner in a 60 in the middle off no where lol
Only the deliberately terminally dumb cannot (will not?) see it is all about the money, especially feeding as many as possible into the legalised bribery of a "Speed Awareness Course". Councils make eye-watering amounts from those courses, often run by a attention seeking volunteer for free and the vans have little affect on the dangerous nutters who use unregistered vehicles. And yes, with so much revenue to be gathered they WILL have thought about motorbikes single plate...
Not at all sure it is about making money. The local village wanted speed checks. The Police said. We don’t have the resources to do speed checks. I have a feeling that if it’s about making money they would have been there like a shot. Also if it is a money spinner there would be more safety vans about.
It’s easy to beat the system- don’t break the posted speed limit 😂- or remove the number plate, keep it with you as it’s just fallen off so will fix it when back home and the fine for not displaying a plate is less than that of 4 mph over a speed limit.
Seriously? I'd be more concerned about those over 8000 hidden ANPR cams scanning and recording your whereabouts. Police know where you have been for two years. That's more intrusive than speed cams where it's in your hands whether they do something or not.
Gatso's are usually a fixed camera radar device, these vans use a laser. They can register the speed of almost anything moving, cars, bikes, cyclists and pedestrians.
Speed camera vans cannot give bikes a ticket. Theres no number plate at the front. I was in the same situation once and after realised they wouldnt have my reg unless the guy rubs to the front of the car and takes pics
They can issue tickets as they look through the screen and write your reg down and then issue a ticket that way ..... ask me how I know 😡..... although I am arguing it as there is no photographic evidence ...
Do these vans have cameras out the front too? I was headed towards one doing 50 in a 40 but slowed down on approach as I passed the van the camera was hanging out the back of the van but I’m still a little worried

they probably got that biker for not wearing a seat belt ...

It’s really easy. Ride below the speed limit. You might get to live a full life and enjoy it too.

doesn't look like the flap was open so don't think it would've been in operation
Agreed, they are unable to shoot laser through glass/perspect
It's all about money 💰💰💰💰😂😂😂😂
Not really
Nope it's to get you to slow down.
Is 60mph not fast enough for you?
You obviously don't ride a motorcycle, otherwise you would know the answer to your own question.
@@andrewdoran4572There lies the problem.
How far were you when you spotted it?
Second I checked round the corner
Reg plate is on back cant get u
Oh yes they can. If they catch you speeding from the front when you pass a camera on the dash then takes a picture of your plate as you pass.
Why you worried there's no numberplate on the front of yer bike DOH

@kombat Sports & Fitness that what I said. Most Van's have cameras in the front now too for CCTV purposes they say lol

They need that money and dickheads breaking speed limits are a very valid target.
Getting traffic on the opposite side, but that still doesn’t alter the fact the bike was riding like a dickhead

Some of them have a camera (bubble type) mounted on the side which faces forwards to get an image of the rear of the bike as it passes by.

They usually record at the front with a camera synced to the laser so they can capture the plate.
