You've made one of the only videos about this model of Indian. I greatly appreciate it. I bought my 2021 Vintage August 10th and it was a match made in heaven!
Great review! I bought a new 2019 Indian Chief Vintage a few months ago.....took a 5 hr trip on it yesterday. You are soooooo right - I was so comfortable. Lots of waves and thumbs up at nearly all the stops....people really like the Indian brand. I also like that Indian Motorcycle appreciate those who have served in the US military - like myself.
Indian has really made an effort to do things the right way. I'm very impressed with their product and the company as a whole. Thanks for watching! Ride safe.
It is my favorite looking Indian. Now that they have corrected the rake I am going to have to reconsider. I am definitely a windshield guy. No use whatsoever for fairings.
I'll be riding with a fairing in the next few videos. Will be my first time so interested to see how it goes. I'm not a fan of how it looks but opinions can change.
My music flows from my pipes. My GPS is conveniently located on posts along side of the road. My infotainment system is otherwise known as the human mind. But...give the gadgets a try, who knows you might enjoy fiddling with them, many do. Personally, I am still amazed that I am riding a bike with a gas gauge. I don't even have ABS which I think is a good deal for most riders but I do have Brembo brakes and consistently stop faster than my riding partners BMW.
Corrected? My 2017 Chief Vintage has a 29 degree rake and it causes no problems. It seems that now the Chief series is the same as a Springfield. Now there is no choice to have the forks a little flatter.
I upgraded mine (2016 red) with the air shock and it's a night/day difference. I would love to have those riding modes. Not sure about the new rake angle because even though it surely handles better at low speeds, I feel it kinda looks weird with the less angled forks and windshield.
If you have ridden the previous model vintage with the less steeper steering rake .??Did you find any noticeable difference between the two?? Particularly on the interstate high speed cross winds ect ? Thank for the review .Jesus bless ya from a brother from down under 🏩🤠🇦🇺
I have experience with the 2020 and 2021. I believe they changed it for the 2020 lineup. I'll see if I can find an older model to ride and report back to you. Thanks for checking out the channel.
If you're gonna put some serious miles on it I'd definitely go with the chief. I love the Scout lineup but not something I'd regularly take out for those big trips.
Did Indian decide to give up the Indian Head logo for the script on most of the Indian models? I think the feathered Headress logo made the bike not the word.
Very similar. It's been a minute since I rode both of those bikes. Once I ride the 2021 models, I'll give you a more detailed response. I hope to do that in the next 2-3 weeks.
Geeze, yes comparing with the Scout, with its horrible suspension, now also having a windshield on the hwy.. no surprise you are impressed, but is the Scout the biggest cruiser you have ridden?. I do think the leather saddle bags are too shallow, too much wasted space between the saddle bags and exhaust.. you really can't rate the performance with your test ride. I'm told power drops out above 80 mpr in high gear.
This bad boys are pretty heavy on pocket. In India you need to shell out $38,000 to own . But nothing beats this model. Is it possible to fix a trunk and hard saddle bad to Willow Green Chief Vintage.
Wow. That is a lot of money. I've been told that a dealership won't put a trunk on the Vintage because of the weight. You can put hard bags on the Vintage but it will be expensive. If you really want the hard bags buy a Springfield. It will be cheaper.
The Scout is a fun bike to ride. It's the perfect Scot around town bike. The Chief is a comfortable bike. Maybe not as comfortable as the Roadmaster. I plan on riding the Roadmaster soon tho. Can't wait to see how it performs.
Wow.. I looked at it but didn’t like the 28 degree rake but now I gotta go back.. 25 degree rake is much better for handling and a more upright position versus laid back, much preferred, ive gotta check the rake on the Springfield online cause I loved that riding position. I been looking at Harley’s... I had a road king classic but this is nicer and more finished for the price... for anyone who owns an Indian how has their chrome and paint held up? Thanks to all..
I'm close to one year on mine. It's garage kept and still looks brand new. I don't have much chrome on my bike so I can't help you there. You're right about the rake. It's amazing what a difference 3 degrees can make.
I’ve got the same windshield and bags on my 17 Chief Darkhorse, I get some buffering because of my height so I need to tuck my arse down and drop in the saddle a little, it gets a little uncomfortable but I do love riding with the shield. Beautiful bike but I have always hated chrome can’t stand the sun reflecting into my eyes. I’m interested in the 25 inch rake though that would be different. Cheers for the review mate. 🤙🏽🤙🏽
I agree. I'm not a fan of chrome. The new rake really does improve the maneuverability of the bike. I loved riding this motorcycle. Thanks for watching!
It’s $19,999... I can afford it.. I’m considering this or the Road King but Harley ain’t selling the RK Classic in North America anymore.. so.. might be on this now that the rake is equivalent to the Springfield ...

You made the right choice! The Vintage is a solid motorcycle that is a lot of fun to ride. Thank you for checking out the video and ride safe! 🤠👊🇺🇸

The windshield on the vintage is super easy to remove from the bike when ya don’t want to ride with one. Easy peasy
Got 80k miles on my '16. Been cross country 3 times. This year 8500 miles round trip, coast to coast with side trips.
Looks better than a Roadking
best looking indian made .
One of the best for sure!
I get tons of compliments on my 2014 Vintage. Springfield Blue.
what a beauty!

Are you going to take out the Challenger?
I'll be taking out the Challenger very soon. Can't wait!

Other people have said the same thing about the rake. It definitely handles better.
Beautiful bike especially in black

First time seeing this bike on u tube and I'm from india surprised about brand indian LoL 😂😂♥️♥️
Lol. I can see how that might be weird. Thanks for checking it out!
Lol. Indian brand started in 1901. America's first motorcycle company.
I'm torn between a scout 20 or a chief. I like sporty but I kinda want comfort
No. It varies from model to model. Some will have the word and others will have the Indian Head.
Have a 2014 and I love it!
The Vintage is just an awesome motorcycle!
@@NoogaCowboy OMG I get so many compliments on this bike! Indian really nailed it!
Can you please reviewing 2021 chief vintage.
I'll be reviewing 2021 Chief Viintage soon! Thanks for checking out the channel!
How would you compare the ride quality between the vintage and Springfield?
Very similar. It's been a minute since I rode both of those bikes. Once I ride the 2021 models, I'll give you a more detailed response. I hope to do that in the next 2-3 weeks.
Identical bike. Put leather bags on a Springfield and it's a Vintage. Plug and play.
Shaft drive or belt drive?
Belt
Should maybe have a sound system
Beautiful ❤bike

@@NoogaCowboy There is the catch, Springfield is for $44,000 in India. Moreover Springfield isn't available in Willow Green.
Price???
They will run you around $20,000. Maybe a little over.

A link to all the specs are in the description. Thanks for watching.
ROCK
I think Indian should come up with a bike called the cowboy to complement the Indian! Just an idea 💡
I want to test ride the scout and the chief I own a Roadmaster

The title should be windshield test ride !

Nothing vintage about this modern, ugly, reincarnation.
Do you really think that Joe Public can go out and afford a monster like this?
This one comes in between $22,000-$24,000. Worth the money all things considered.
@@NoogaCowboy Personally, I I would be seen dead riding it.

Is it ugly because you can’t afford it? Because you seem bitter Joe Public.
Obviously, you can't, so stick to your grandpappy's BSA.
