Great video! I've invested in the suite of moment lenses purley so I can do b-roll shots in tight spaces with my phone vs my regular camera and very happy with the results so far. Very thorough video as always.
You have just diagnosed an issue I had with an ND filter in still photography many decades ago that plagued me for two years until I sold that camera, a 6X6. It was the filter that was causing the dark section in the middle of my shots… I always thought it was the development process or light leakage in the camera. But could never find the cause. I sold the filter with the camera and the trouble disappeared. All this time to work it out…amazing.
Hey man you need to do some voice acting like audible or characters or something you have a really relaxing voice and i would highly recommend you go into voice acting. Also great videos 👍

I just checked and we have the same lens that you have and we shoot a video with it but the phone case it came with was junk so we us the BeastCage that has right size insert to fit it. Video look good but the build quality just wasn't that good.

@@SiHorrocks I own the Note 20 Ultra, it's absolutely amazing for videography, thank you so much because I was struggling to decide between the OM5 or the Smooth5, most reviews are with iphones. I think the OM5 will suit me at the moment, most of my videography is indoors. The Smooth might be an addition later if I'm heading out and need the ND lens.

really good video, thanks! and i've subscribed I get quite a bit of audio background hiss when using an external mic with my samsung galaxy, which you seem to get as well in your audio when you switch from voice over to testing the external mics. Do you know a way to resolve this other than background noise reducing when you are processing the video in something like imovie? I'm assuming the microphones are just very sensitive and picking up electrical signals...
its down to the cheapness of the microphones. Expensive mics have shielding (the one I use for VO is £700) which protects from this interference. But a low budget mic won't have this and so you get background hiss, interference. The only real way to remove it is to use a noise filter - I use Adobe Audition for this

I do vloggy type nature videos out in parks and such, usually in a bit too much of a hurry to spend ages on setting up shots, often winging it, but I try and videos like yours inspire me to maybe try harder lol. I just got the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and unfortunately my Smooth 4 can't handle the weight (it's fine if the battery is full, but it won't balance once the first couple of squares of battery have gone). I'm fighting with wind a lot of the time and would like to have a mic. So my question is, do you think the Smooth 5 would balance my phone (about 280g) if it was shifted out of place a little in order to fit a smaller wireless microphone receiver into the usb port? I'm thinking probably the Comica BoomX-DUC2 because it's higher end but also small. Do you think this configuration would work? Thank in advance

Moment looks like the only company that really supports Android phones are far as the case and the lens mount. You can find a clamp-on lens...but a case for an Android Phone ... looks to be only one company at the Moment..unless you know of another?
This is a conspiracy, the manufacturers of such accessories to do things only for the iPhone? I don't think the iPhone is the best when shooting video, there are a lot of Android phones that do better, but we Android users remain discriminated against ... sorry.
I don't think that it is a conspiracy. With iPhones it is much more predictable for manufacturers whether a certain feature or function works or not, because they only have to deal with Apple and their software support is much more consistent. With Android it is a bit of a gamble whether the phone manufacturer supports a certain (software) feature or function on a specific phone, where features may even disappear after software upgrades. For example: Even though Huawei phones have quite capable camera hardware it is impossible to use many Filmic Pro and McPro24fps features, because Huawei does not provide basic Android software support for it: No log support, no proper manual white balance, no 24 fps, mediocre bit rates, over sharpening, ...

We can now record raw video on Android, and soon we will be completely bypass camera2 API nonsense, mcpro24fps and Filmic Pro will be able to record without these limitations of device manufacturers, reaching the full potential of hardware!

Almost all the TH-cam videos I find online about lenses and filters are iPhone only. I know all about the issues re android and film/camera apps as I was a beta tester for, and work very closely with moza when developing the android camera app for their 3 axis gimbals. Very frustrating times.....
