I read the negative comments about this just being a big advert. My impression is this is a great intro for people who need quick recommendations to get started. You have to list brand names and models to be helpful to the viewers. Had you only danced around the equipments names without listing them directly, that would’ve been a wasted video. So I think you’ve done a wonderful job here.
@jnnx How could I possibly recommend gear without it sounding like an advert to you? Whether the brands paid or not (which they didn't) I still need to recommend something in order for the video to live up to the title

I had a DJI 6 gimbal(resold it), have Hohem 6(very good, but bulky, not used at all), and the Powervision s1, which many said is not for professionals, but I use because it is light, compact, and charges my phone. I use Filmic Pro and I don't care about other things only stabilization. I had Zhiun 55(resold it)
Creatives have a lot of good choices these days. When I bought into a lens system, it was between Moment and Sandmarc, or Moondog for anamorphic. I bought Sandmarc, and I've kept that system up to date. Take it from this Engineer. Sound is so much more important than most visual-rooted creatives realize. Don't cheap out on the microphone quality, but you don't need to go studio high end unless you're mic-ing musical performances. Shure's MV88 is a very good small mic. Sennheiser's MKE mics are good for on-camera, though knowing how to sound treat a space is important for any on-camera mic. Wireless is convenient, but there are gotchas. A separate recorder and some good quality wired lav mics is a better approach than most wireless. When I record church music, for example, Audio Technica's AT2035, AT875R, and AT8022, fed through a mixer or a Zoom F6 field recorder is my arsenal of choice. Very good performance for the money.

So the catch-22 of this online world is that in order to reach the people you want to help you also need to play into the trends and shiny objects like gear. Davinci is the very best if you're going to invest time in film making, but for the easy way out you can't beat final cut pro. Yeah, yeah, mac os only but it is the very best for quick edits and focusing on the actual content, the story telling. That's the thing you need to invest 90% of your time. I will say that you didn't talk about sound editing and that's just sad, sound is the most important part of this business for vlogging or talking head videos of all sorts. Davinci and final cut offer decent sound editing software, I think davinci is way better but premiere just sucks for me. Also please don't tell newbies to go for premiere, it's buggy as hell, expensive in the long run and has a very complicated and to be honest bad ui ( yes, I know what i'm talking about, got 15 years of experience in UX/UI). Otherwise good video, congrats!
People who say premiere pro is buggy have not used it enough or used it improperly. I’ve spent years in all three of the bigger softwares and they’re all equally buggy.
@@MrPaulXavier so… Huge content creators , professional editors are either lying or not using premiere pro correctly? I find that very hard to believe…
Every editing program will crash from time to time. People will say premiere pro crashes all the time but they haven’t invested ANYWHERE near as much time on other editing programs so they don’t truly have a basis to compared. I’ve spent years using all three and they definitely all crash. Final Cut Pro crashes the least in my experience but that’s because it’s fine tuned to work only on macs. Davinci crashes just as much as premiere pro for me. The computer you use it on plays too big a role to generalize and say one is vastly better than another from a bugginess perspective.
Some of our most popular videos were shot on smartphone, but others are usually a mix of different cameras we have setup to try and make shooting as efficient as possible
I am new to videos. I am looking at the DJI Osmo 6, Insta360 flow and Hohem Isteady 6 gimbals. I want to film dog training videos. Good tracking is key. I am confused about Editing videos. My question is with the Insta360 flow (which I assume will be the same for DJI Osmo 6), once you have exported the video from the insta360 app (or DJI app), can you then edit it in third party software like capcut, wondershare etc? I may want to do a voiceover, or I may want to remove windnoise, I may want to edit the video to trim out bits I dont want etc. Any help would be appreciated, I am up until 2am every night researching
@@MrPaulXavier perfect thanks. I am looking to get a phone that is compatible with the flow. Does the camera quality make any difference when filming with the 360flow? I.e. iPhone 11 to 13 vs iphone 15 (the latter of which I understand is much better). I am slightly confused by "not using native camera" as to whether this means it makes no difference
Yeah so the app you film with makes little to no difference on the quality of the final video. That is determined primarily by the sensor on the camera itself and the newer phones like the 15 have the highest quality sensors. It sounds like you'd get a ton of value going through our 14 Day Filmmaker course, it covers everything you need to know in great detail so all of this will make crystal clear sense!

Let's see now... 100,000 signups at $48 each.... nicely done! And, yeah, I'm probably gonna be signing up, too :)
Hi, I don't see alot of accessories for Google Pixel 7 Pro or 8 Pro
Almost all of these will work on google phones.
@@MrPaulXavier I dind't find any lens on Amazon for The pixel 7 pro
Did you watch the video? We specifically mentioned a universal phone mounting clip you can get which will allow you to attach the shiftcam lenses to any phone (including the pixel phones)
Great lineup! Thanks
Hi, great video and saves a lot of efforts.. thank you and hope u update this video annually with the latest gadgets 🤞on the other hand what’s your take on xiamoi 14 ultra as a camera phone for digital creations vs samsung 24 ultra!? Xiaomi has leica lens and camera kit but samsung is more popular.. if you can compare both in terms of camera performance for youtube / instagram 👏 thanks and again really cool video as i was looking for sony zv 1f but was not really eager for it .. i think an iphone with capable android camera phone is a good start up setup 🤞✌️
When using a gimbal, do you find that you are not able to have the lenses attached nor an SSD? If so, how can anyone combat this?
You would need to get a larger gimbal like the Zhiyun series
Dream gadgets 😌😄
Quick question... are your videos shot on phone?
Yup! All of the footage can be exported and used in any third party editing app.
I'm looking for lenses for Samsung s24 will this be good for my phone?
Checkout our most recent video it’s all about Samsung accessories!
I’m from India and planning to buy your course , but in India Capcut is banned and will not work , what could be the alternative?
We teach several other editing programs and apps as well!
Can the DJI OM6 hold a iphone with just a anamorphic lens for example?
Yes it has just enough power to support that
@@MrPaulXavier Nice thank you so much for the help!
Amazing content... Thank You!
My pleasure!
Is the 14 Day TH-camr and the 14 Day Pro Camera Filmmaker available to students who have purchased in the past or is this an additional upgrade charge?
14 Day youtuber is going to be granted to all existing students next week! Then if you go to your library the pro camera version is the main "14 day filmmaker" course compared to the smartphone edition
@@MrPaulXavier Just so I am clear, I do not need to purchase anything else to get everything? That is excellent customer service!!!!
@@MrPaulXavier Does this also include 1 Week Director and 1 Day Script or are these additional purchases as well?
Correct you don't need to purchase anything additional! The only other course you mentioned that WOULD be a separate purchase is 1 day script.
@@MrPaulXavier Awesome customer service. Anyone trying to decide to pull the trigger on this, DO NOT WAIT. Well worth every penny.
A bit sad that everything is for Iphone.
I've got Samsung S24 ultra and no lens mount is to be found...😢
We’re releasing a Samsung video soon. Most of these work for Samsung as well though!

Interesting video. But I think most of the gear are only for Iphone, not for other cellphone. You should change the title.
Although I think a lot of this applies to androids We do have another video on the channel specific to Samsung phones too.
@@MrPaulXavier would be great 👍
Amazing!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Informative video
7:53, a full room tour !!
can u plug that mic on Phone with Cage?
Thanks for all your helpful insight! I wanted to ask, would I be able to use the hohem gimbal while using the hard drive, since it would be added weight?
I haven't personally tested it but I believe it would work fine
Nice
