13:41 inspired me to mount my phone in vertical mode on top of my camera to film story content while filming high quality horizontal content. Thank you!!
I read the negative comments about this just being a big advert. My impression is this is a great intro for people who need quick recommendations to get started. You have to list brand names and models to be helpful to the viewers. Had you only danced around the equipments names without listing them directly, that would’ve been a wasted video. So I think you’ve done a wonderful job here.
@jnnx How could I possibly recommend gear without it sounding like an advert to you? Whether the brands paid or not (which they didn't) I still need to recommend something in order for the video to live up to the title
The sponsor says this one is great and that one is great. I had a DJI 6 gimbal(resold it), have Hohem 6(very good, but bulky, not used at all), and the Powervision s1, which many said is not for professionals, but I use because it is light, compact, and charges my phone. I use Filmic Pro and I don't care about other things only stabilization. I had Zhiun 55(resold it)
Do you need a wide look, a zoomed in look, or an anamorphic look? Based on your answer to that question I would choose the specific lens we mention from the video that gives the look you need.
Not sure if you are going to see this. I am just getting into shooting videos and the outputting directly to the an external SSD seems like an amazing option but question comes to mind then is how that does work with also needing to plug in the external mic... Is there a good option for a ...usb-c hub or something that I could use? Great video and thanks for the help.
Creatives have a lot of good choices these days. When I bought into a lens system, it was between Moment and Sandmarc, or Moondog for anamorphic. I bought Sandmarc, and I've kept that system up to date. Take it from this Engineer. Sound is so much more important than most visual-rooted creatives realize. Don't cheap out on the microphone quality, but you don't need to go studio high end unless you're mic-ing musical performances. Shure's MV88 is a very good small mic. Sennheiser's MKE mics are good for on-camera, though knowing how to sound treat a space is important for any on-camera mic. Wireless is convenient, but there are gotchas. A separate recorder and some good quality wired lav mics is a better approach than most wireless. When I record church music, for example, Audio Technica's AT2035, AT875R, and AT8022, fed through a mixer or a Zoom F6 field recorder is my arsenal of choice. Very good performance for the money.
Very curious if you have a suggestion for lens and filter fir a specific use. 19:6 (IG TT) , Indoor , Concerts , MMA , professional wrestling, where you have extremely bright lights aimed at you. Appreciate any suggestions ❤
I am so glad I found your video. I need a camera to record corporate events usually in an AC hall. I was confused between choice of buying mirrorless cameras vs mobile phone cameras. Considering, I have to travel with camera I was more inclined towards mobile phone cam for recording events to have less weight. I would really appreciate if you can help me with these: 1) Which specific lens would you suggest for taking videos for such events? 2) Does creating videos with these lenses make the videos heavier? I have to transfer these to Windows laptop (almost immediately as I capture them) to play it on projector screen. So I am concerned of file size too. (Screen mirroring may not always be an option) 3) Do the videos recorded with filter lenses have same / better pixel quality and shows well even when enlarged on laptop or projector screens? 4) Also, can you suggest a microphone to be attached on phone which can record good sound even from far distance?
Great Video. Two questions if I may. 1) If you are just starting out, and you don’t have the budget to buy everything at once, what is the “priority” you recommend I should invest in the items you recommend. 2) Do you have a video on - didn’t see one on your channel - how to connect an IPhone to a monitor, Ipad, etc. in order to see what you are filming, while you are filming it? Tired of getting up to check the phone every time I won’t see how things are looking! Thanks, again for the help!
Getting a good phone/camera is absolutely priority. After that a good light and microphone would be next. Then finally a filter and a gimbal would be after that. It all depends on what type of content you film though.
So happy that I found your channel, your videos are super helpful. Can we talk storage options? I prefer filming on my phone over my actual dslr/digital cameras but I run out of space so quickly. How can I use my phone for long form videos?
I've been binge watching your videos :). How often do you actually use the VND filter when you record your videos outside (for TH-cam)? Can I get away with not using it or is it too important to skip?
Great question. For quick social media stuff I absolutely am fine not using the VND, but for heavy cinematic content I try to use it as often as I can!
What is your opinion on the Final Cut Pro editing software? I’m thinking about getting that once I get a new laptop. I’ve seen multiple different people mention davinci, adobe, Final Cut Pro, etc.

I wouldn’t recommend DJI Osmo gimbals for heavy IPhones.
Better to stop on DJI RS3 Mini.
And microphone better choose DJI Mic
Hey,,I’ve been following you for a while now and been learning a lot..Can you please help me with something which has led me in a stressful dilemma.. I have recently started with my TH-cam journey and have been editing all of my videos on my iPhone using VN editor, but now I am looking to upgrade and searching for laptops but not able to make a decision. Should I go ahead and buy a MacBook M1 or should I get the windows (which laptop?) which will help me to up my editing game
We have a whole video on this topic on our channel!
As usual, you rock, Anthony!!
Thanks Michael!
Great lineup! Thanks

Hi, great video and saves a lot of efforts.. thank you and hope u update this video annually with the latest gadgets 🤞on the other hand what’s your take on xiamoi 14 ultra as a camera phone for digital creations vs samsung 24 ultra!? Xiaomi has leica lens and camera kit but samsung is more popular.. if you can compare both in terms of camera performance for youtube / instagram 👏 thanks and again really cool video as i was looking for sony zv 1f but was not really eager for it .. i think an iphone with capable android camera phone is a good start up setup 🤞✌️
Very very valuable..Thankyou
You are welcome
ShiftCam case for S23 Ultra is out of stock.. I will need to buy from another vendor =(
Shiftcam for the win
They’re great!
How can I start and stop the recording of my iphone while shooting with the rear camera . Or is it not even possible
You just hit the red record button in the camera app.
@@MrPaulXavier I mean I'm shooting myself and I'm alone . Is there any other cheap option than apple watch ... So that I could automatically start recording. Because starting the record then coming back to the frame then again going back to stop the record . It's very challenging
@@MrPaulXavier bro 😂 not that dump
Reading your original comment there was no way I could tell what you actually wanted to ask haha. There are bluetooth triggers you can buy online to start and stop recording although I haven't tested any
@@MrPaulXavier 🤣🤣
Dream gadgets 😌😄
OM6 is great as long as you do not use their app. Talk about overheating being one with the sun

What if a person have a Sony phone and shift can doesn't support Sony devices
There universal lens mount should work on any phone :)
Beastgrip pro and their lenses. The lenses have standard threading so you can use normal camera filters and matte box, external audio and screen etc.
THE BEST!!!!
Thanks!
Amazing!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Editing software but no camera app?
In limiting this video to 10 recommendations I feel the editing app is 10X more important than a shooting app.
I def missed this giveaway but this was a great video
Thanks!
