I poked the potatoes with a fork, microwaved them for 5 minutes and then baked them at 400 for 25 minutes. They turned out perfect! So nice not to warm the oven up for potatoes!
I have been baking potatoes in the Ninja since I got mine. I use the grill grate. When the potatoes are done, the grill is heated up for my steak. It works out perfectly.

Try putting them in a freezer bag. Leave the top about halfway open then add about one half cup of water. But them in the microwave for about ten minutes or a little less. The water will steam them. They will be soft and delicious. My sister-in-law Jean use to do that. Awesome video thanks for sharing. I always enjoy your video's. Stay well and safe out there.

I have 4 Ninja things- the health grill, dual zone, flip oven and the new pressure cooker. I now realise that I've completely under-used the 1st two because of nerves so your 'alien' comment completely rings true. I'm forcing myself to go through the inspiration books with The Salted Pepper as a useful safety net - it's paying dividends now. Although I still side-eye the Ninja things they're becoming less of an enemy and more of a friend. Because of making myself try things I now realise that the last time I used the electric oven was Christmas Day!
Can’t wait to try this in my first ever ninja foodi. I have just got the 15 in 1 and did regular sized chips (fries) on steam/air fry and they cooked quicker and were better than chips cooked in my tefal air fryer. ❤️

This was great! I did my baked potato in the microwave, then air fried to crisp up the skin! Meanwhile the hubs did our steaks in the iron skillet since it was iced over here in Texas! I know hard to believe...But it was all great!! I do want to ask about the "skins" on your Foodies though!!! Are they bought or made at home with your Cricut?? Mines stays out on the counter 24/7, so it would be nice to jazz it up!

Pressure lid keeps food in your Ninja warm. Just make sure you have a lil bit of water in the bottom. I do it all the time with eggs. Cook and leave them in the Foodi keeping warm until I come back from gym. Love it. /Bklyn👑

I don't like sour cream. I use ranch dressing and butter instead. My favorite thing is chopped tomatoes, onions and diced meat with butter and ranch on top. A meal in itself.

How about your absolutely perfect recipe for long grain or basmati rice. Those I see here are ‘I do mine’ recipes which are not perfect, just adequate. I want the rice to not be sticky since I do not use chopsticks. Thx in advance.
I have a rice recipe for basmati that I put some other ingredients in, but you could leave them out and it would still be the same. I use the steam function and the rice is perfect every time. thesaltedpepper.com/homemade-rice-a-roni/
For such a small difference but such a large increase in energy usage I’d do the pressure cooking over the pure air frying. Personal preference of course.
To save time, prick the potatoe, microwave for about 10 minutes until soft. Next place the potatoe at the top of the oven near the grill for about 5 mins. Turn until nicely browned. Done in about half the time of other methods.
I air fried a potato at 400 for 45 minutes, I took temperature and at the 43 minute the potato was 210 degree's thinking it was cooked inside I took it out of the Ninja Foodie the skin was beautiful, crispy and nice but the potato was not fully cooked inside what did I do wrong?

The Salted Pepper thanks so much! I was thinking of getting a ninja foodi but wasn’t sure, and your channel helped me to decide I wanted one. I bought one at Costco for a great deal 3 weeks ago and love it! It cuts the cooking time down and allows me to make crispy foods with less than a tbsp of oil. So much healthier and still taste great. I experimented last week by making breaded orange roughy, lemon pepper salmon, potato chips, and zucchini fries in airfry mode, and all was perfect. I also made dad some lentil stew in the pressure cooker. Was excited to see your post on potatoes today because that’s what I’m about to make with whole red snapper, and I wasn’t sure on the temp and time on the potatoes. I will keep watching your channel for more ideas on things to make. Thanks!
Microwave for 1 min per oz..then finish in ninja to crisp if you want..no need for an hour to cook a potato..you can do it in 45 min in a regular oven🤷🏼♀️
americas test kitchen has a foolproof method. they do a quick brine. then bake till temp of around 200 then oil and bake 10 more min. I can't wait to combine that one and this one. thanks so much

I just got mine and find it is just like my Instapot except waaaay more features. I live the crisping. Made ribs, great, sauerkraut with pork, great, chicken wings, takes less time than the book says. It gets an A. My only negative is it is BIG, it takes a lot of space! The box was H U G E and this is the 6.5 quart.
Wow never tried that. But for the most part I have been cooking my huge bakers in the microwave for like 7 minutes and done. I wonder if you could cook more then one at a time using this method. Then that would seem worth the while.
I steam crisp, but if you don't have the Smart Lid XL, Pressure Cook or Steam for the first 10-15 mins, then, Air Fry after that for another 25-30 mins - absolutely perfect potatoes every time!
Dumb question: is air crisp the same as air fry? My Ninja Foodi doesn't have an air crisp option, just an air fry option. Thank you so much for your videos!

Japan invented a tv you can taste. Lol Not sure how that works on a sanitary level. I would love a tv with smell. Disney does this at their theme parks. You will smell different aromas in different areas to associate your time there.
We tried olive oil & salt on skin but they were still not crispy ..... Maybe we used the wrong potato type or should have not added the oil at the very beginning ... or should have re-oiled along the cook cycle ??? What is the trick for good crispy skins ?
Hi Louise...I need help. I have a senior dog that is unfortunately having trouble with her stomach. I won't go in to the details, but.... I have become her personal chef, LOL. I am trying to figure out what she will eat. I have tried to make her, many meals like bland chicken and rice, but that doesn't have enough nutritious value for longer term. I am now trying to figure out how to cook chicken gizzards in my Ninja Foodie Pressure Cooker Air Fryer. I use the steam and bake, but the steam ran out immediately and the water and juices burned in the pot. Do you know what I should do and would you please do a video on steam and bake...not steam and crisp. It is hard to find info on that function alone. Thank you.

Hey Louise I’m looking for soft foods that are easy to swallow during treatments. I can’t take vitamins so I’m looking for natural food high in vitamins and minerals and a baked potato, and hopefully some great hints, seems to be ideal. One thing I did notice is the slow cooker on the Ninja is twice as slow, on high, as a normal slow cooker. Any suggestions? Thanks for everything Louise.
Slow cookers have different designs. From what I understand, some of the crockpots heat from the side walls as well as the bottom. Personally, I like the slow cooker function of the Foodi much better than any other slow cooker I've ever had because it is a nice gentle heat.
Now that’s priceless don’t you think! 😂. We could make a pretty penny just selling cookers. I also have three large electric roasters as I use to cater spaghetti dinners for 150 people. Too funny 😁

The time depends on the potato size, but it doesn't matter if you cook 1 or 4, the time is the same. If your potatoes are varying sizes, you can either stagger adding them in (biggest one first) or stagger pulling them out (smallest one first). If they are close in size cook them for the same time.
So does the Ninja act like a pressure cooker? If so I net it would do some great chicken or better yet veggies and roast beef . . . I have an a 8 quart Air Fryer and do everything in it. I haven't tried a baked potato yet but want to. It does great biscuits though. I flatten the biscuits out and roll them up like a croissant and it works great.
The Ninja Combi isn't a pressure cooker so those recipes won't work the same. Air fryer recipes work pretty much the same, but sometimes the food is done a little faster in the Combi. The steam/crisp or steam/bake recipes in the Foodi should be pretty much the same in the Combi.
OK, my machine doesn’t look anything like that but on the pamphlet it says ninja foodie on the outside of the machine it says just ninja but mines a rectangle. Looks like a toaster oven but it dehydrates an air fryer air roast pressure cooker. I’m so confused. Lol
You aren't the only one! For some reason Ninja Kitchen decided to name several different appliances "Ninja Foodi." They have several Ninja Foodi ovens, pressure cookers like this one, grills, blenders, pots/pans, and more. ALL are called Ninja Foodi. It's horrible. Anyway, I'm happy to help you figure out what you have if you know the model number. I doubt it pressure cooks though, there are only 2 basic styles of pressure cookers and none are rectangular.
I don't poke my potatoes and the skin is crispy crunchy all the time. Is there a reason to poke? I mean in a regular oven I did, but I didn't in the ninja for some reason.
I haven't done any studies on that, so I'm not sure. People have said their electricity bill dropped. I have a gas stove, so I didn't see any difference in my electric bill. It didn't go up though.

*********Louise******** I have a question for you…….Can I make lasagna in the inner ceramic Foodi pan? I want to try it without ruining $12 or more of ingredients. I could use my usual recipe that makes more than in the smaller pan you used.
You will have a very hard time trying to PC lasagna in the inner pot because of needing thin liquid and using enough thin liquid for lasagna would end up being lasagna soup, which I hear is pretty good though!
Camera tricks! The skin on the left-hand foodi appears and disappears during the video! Still useful to know that pressure cooking doesn't help with spuds
We don't do camera tricks, but the video is edited to reduce time. Not sure what you are referencing, but I can assure it wasn't done to trick or misrepresent anything.

I have the new Foodi XL Smart Lid, so I bake potatoes on the Steam Chrisp setting - combines the best of both options!! :)

There was a time difference though because you wouldn't have ever opened the lid on the baked one while the others water was being drained.
You should do this same test/dual for other items...like pork, roast, Chicken wings etc.. it would be fun..

As long as they are similar in size, you don't need to make any adjustments for making more than one.
Hi, what would the time and temp be for multiple potatoes in airfry setting? Such as 3-4 potatoes.
If they are the same size, they’d take the same time. You don’t have to change time and temp for multiple potatoes

I steam crisp, but if you don't have the Smart Lid XL, Pressure Cook or Steam for the first 10-15 mins, then, Air Fry after that for another 25-30 mins - absolutely perfect potatoes every time!

Ty for these videos,my ninja didn't have a guide book when bought so all my cooking has been guessing I'd bought the 2 lid ninja from Walmart was my first mistake I guess.
I have a ninja foodi..For baked potatoes its just quicker and less hassle to just do them in the microwave. Imo
I can eat it plain or with butter.
Try putting Pennsylvania pepper on a baked potato, it's awesome.
So to play devil's advocate, try microwaving the spud then aircrisping it. It takes like half the time and the results are amazingly delicious!
I have never had much luck with a microwave and even cooking, but if it works for you that's great!
I watched one of your videos, you mentioned about ordering on the website the air crisp basket and reverse rack for the newer foodi 6.5 (with stainless) since they gave us that tiny rack like thing. What model # should I get for the new basket and rack? They ask on the website and I don’t know what to put in.

We tried olive oil & salt on skin but they were still not crispy .....
Maybe we used the wrong potato type
or should have not added the oil at the very beginning ...
or should have re-oiled along the cook cycle ???

Microwave for 20 mins then airfry for 10 mins gives me the best results. I never oil a baked potato just lots of fork pricks and lots of salt
Hi Louise...I need help. I have a senior dog that is unfortunately having trouble with her stomach. I won't go in to the details, but.... I have become her personal chef, LOL. I am trying to figure out what she will eat. I have tried to make her, many meals like bland chicken and rice, but that doesn't have enough nutritious value for longer term. I am now trying to figure out how to cook chicken gizzards in my Ninja Foodie Pressure Cooker Air Fryer. I use the steam and bake, but the steam ran out immediately and the water and juices burned in the pot. Do you know what I should do and would you please do a video on steam and bake...not steam and crisp. It is hard to find info on that function alone. Thank you.
Hi there, am new to all of this and bought a dual zone AF400UK. I wonder whether the "Air Crisp" function is the same as "Max Crisp" version on my air fryer?
It's hard for me to say exactly, but I do know that the dual zone air fryer works very well.

Hey Louise I’m looking for soft foods that are easy to swallow during treatments. I can’t take vitamins so I’m looking for natural food high in vitamins and minerals and a baked potato, and hopefully some great hints, seems to be ideal. One thing I did notice is the slow cooker on the Ninja is twice as slow, on high, as a normal slow cooker. Any suggestions? Thanks for everything Louise.
Slow cookers have different designs. From what I understand, some of the crockpots heat from the side walls as well as the bottom. Personally, I like the slow cooker function of the Foodi much better than any other slow cooker I've ever had because it is a nice gentle heat.

Yes, you can use silicone as long as it's heat resistant and food safe.

Each potato will cook at the same time if they are the same size, so you don't have to make any changes. Enjoy!

I have not encountered that, but the grill will set mine off sometimes.

The time depends on the potato size, but it doesn't matter if you cook 1 or 4, the time is the same. If your potatoes are varying sizes, you can either stagger adding them in (biggest one first) or stagger pulling them out (smallest one first). If they are close in size cook them for the same time.
So does the Ninja act like a pressure cooker? If so I net it would do some great chicken or better yet veggies and roast beef . . . I have an a 8 quart Air Fryer and do everything in it. I haven't tried a baked potato yet but want to. It does great biscuits though. I flatten the biscuits out and roll them up like a croissant and it works great.
There are several Ninja appliances, but the Ninja Foodi that I use in this video is a pressure cooker and an air fryer.
Just curious…will all your Foodi recipes work the same in the Ninja Combi?
The Ninja Combi isn't a pressure cooker so those recipes won't work the same. Air fryer recipes work pretty much the same, but sometimes the food is done a little faster in the Combi. The steam/crisp or steam/bake recipes in the Foodi should be pretty much the same in the Combi.

OK, my machine doesn’t look anything like that but on the pamphlet it says ninja foodie on the outside of the machine it says just ninja but mines a rectangle. Looks like a toaster oven but it dehydrates an air fryer air roast pressure cooker. I’m so confused. Lol
You aren't the only one! For some reason Ninja Kitchen decided to name several different appliances "Ninja Foodi." They have several Ninja Foodi ovens, pressure cookers like this one, grills, blenders, pots/pans, and more. ALL are called Ninja Foodi. It's horrible. Anyway, I'm happy to help you figure out what you have if you know the model number. I doubt it pressure cooks though, there are only 2 basic styles of pressure cookers and none are rectangular.
I don't poke my potatoes and the skin is crispy crunchy all the time. Is there a reason to poke? I mean in a regular oven I did, but I didn't in the ninja for some reason.
The holes are to let the steam release that is built inside the potato to prevent them from splitting.

One isn't better than the other, they are just different. From the cooking I've done, both do a great job.
How energy efficient are the Ninjas compared to oven and stove cooking?
I haven't done any studies on that, so I'm not sure. People have said their electricity bill dropped. I have a gas stove, so I didn't see any difference in my electric bill. It didn't go up though.

*********Louise******** I have a question for you…….Can I make lasagna in the inner ceramic Foodi pan? I want to try it without ruining $12 or more of ingredients. I could use my usual recipe that makes more than in the smaller pan you used.
You will have a very hard time trying to PC lasagna in the inner pot because of needing thin liquid and using enough thin liquid for lasagna would end up being lasagna soup, which I hear is pretty good though!
If you open the airfryer so that it alters when the pressure cooker is open you are stopping air fry and letting cool. Airfryer is quicker otherwise.
Camera tricks! The skin on the left-hand foodi appears and disappears during the video! Still useful to know that pressure cooking doesn't help with spuds
We don't do camera tricks, but the video is edited to reduce time. Not sure what you are referencing, but I can assure it wasn't done to trick or misrepresent anything.
