You have convinced me to give this a shot. After watching several other videos on how to do this your video is pretty much the only one I’ve seen that compares both methods and gives a good overview explanation. Thanks for sharing this.
Wonderful, really appreciate the way you've you've given this demonstration. First time I've seen just what I wanted. Did not waffle on just fully explained what I was looking for. ❤
Hi, When its slow cooking you wouldn't know its switched on, almost silent. Baking is pretty quiet too. Air Fry is the noisiest as it's using the fan to circulate the air
Seasoned veteran here when it comes to jacket potatoes. Ninja - Steam setting, add a cup of water, prick the spuds, steam for 10 minutes. Pour the water away, dry the spuds, rub olive oil and salt into them, then air-fry function for 20 mins on 200 degrees. Potatoes will be banging gorgeous with a lovely crispy skin. No need to waste time pressure-cooking them. Voila.
@@jade532 Hi Jade - i can't remember but steam only forms at a certain temperature anyway, so you can never go too high - just watch the water doesn't evaporate.
Thanks for that I actually don’t have a microwave so what I did was par boiled my potatoe then air fried it it wasn’t bad so I will try the pressure cooked suggestion and compare the par boiled with your recommendation
By the way I’ve watched a few of your videos now, I’m new to all this sort of stuff. I’m an old traditional Cook learning new things. I made a Pasta Bake the other day in about 10min cooking time wow. Anyway keep up the good work😜
I appreciate you watching and I hope my videos are helping. It’s such a big learning curve when we are all use to using the oven and hob. Keep experimenting and let me know if any good recipes
Try a South African braai fav … onions and baked spuds. For the BBQ wrap onions/ spuds in foil. Place them in the bottion of the fire pit. Place combustibles on top, Light, then braai the meat, once the required heat is achieved. Once meat is cooked rake out onions/ spuds. Remove foil. Spuds should have hard/ burnt skins, onions should have crispy/ burnt skins. Can be modified for Ninja.
That’s great instructions! What about microwaving for 10 mins and then air fry? Thanks so much for helping with the 15 in 1, the instructions that come with the machine are pretty poor! You have saved my life!
It’s a lot to read in the instructions and I need to watch something to understand it better. Yes definitely can microwave, put oil and salt on the skin after and then air fry. I was just trying to make it purely in the ninja as some people don’t have microwaves. I think that pressure cooking it and microwaving have very similar results.
Hi, personally I would defrost as to get them defrosted in the middle you could over cook the skin in the air fryer. I suppose on a lower heat for a longer time it could be ok. I’ve not tested this so may need a trial
Hi, no I haven’t Baked yet… good consideration as it’s no different to the oven just quicker. I’m sure it would be good. So much this machine can do i need years to try it all!!!
@@susannahskitchen I have now tried it and found the outsides got a bit too crispy before the insides cooked through so I will try your pressure method next. Thank you for the videos I have watched them all as the Foodi is new to me and they have given me a lot of confidence! Tonight I am doing a combi meal with lentils and tomatoes in the pot veg on the second layer and salmon coated with pesto on top. Fingers crossed!
@@amyhealey6078 that sounds a lovely dinner. Let me know how it goes. It was worth a try, it’s all an experiment! I liked the pressure cooked jacket, I hope you do too x

Thanks for watching and glad it’s helped. There is also the bake function… not tried that yet!
Likewise. I am recently picked up a 15 in 1 foodi and just getting to grips with what it can do.

Brilliant comparison, thanks for doing this demonstration
Have you tried the Steam & Roast setting? Might give it a try on mine this week and I'll come back and let you know!
Thank you very much for the video. Picked up one of these yesterday and it fantastic getting such clear instructions on using it.
I hope you really love it and thank you for watching. All my videos coming up are using the ninja 15 in 1 so hopefully that will help you get started
Looks good. What is the noise like when baking? What about slow cooker? Would be great if there's some videos showing this, so we can hear. Thanks

@@DameTremonti what heat did you steam on? 200?

@@DameTremontiyeah I tried your method but potato’s were still very hard. I’m not sure if my potato’s were too big maybe.

Could this be done in "one take" by using the "steam and airfry"-setting instead of manually doing the two-step "first pressure and then airfry"?
Hi, I don't see why not. It works for Potato Wedges so it should do the same but obviously would ned more time
Thanks again, that is so helpful to know .
If I pressure cook 4 potatoes and then freeze them. Do I completely defrost before air-frying or can I cook from frozen & if so for how long? Thanks.

I love steam air fry for potato wedges and roast chicken so why not jackets! Great idea, I think it would work really well just not tried it

Delicious!
Wonderful 😂 Nice quick
