Love baked potatoes in the air fryer. The skin comes out so crispy.

I start mine in the microwave as its more economical in energy and cost and then 15 minutes in the AirFryer to crisper the skin

Instead of pricking the Potato with a fork, I mark a cross on the flatter side. Just enough so that it aids the cooking, not too much that the potato is quartered. But putting olive oil on (before adding a pinch of salt) instead of butter is a great idea. Will try it!

Thanks: the baked potatoes look great! I'd suggest a combi approach to cooking these as an hour baking at 200C is less energy efficient than a few minutes in a micro wave before transferring to the air fryer for only 20 to 30 minutes on pre-heated 200C. Only an air fryer or traditional oven will make a fluffy potatoe with crisp skin, but tge micro wave is very energy efficient even at 800 - 900 watts.

Instead of pricking with a fork I run a knife around the circumference of the patio. Don't cut to deep, 2 to 3 mm will do. Like pricking, it stops the potato exploding during cooking but also allows you to break the potato in half when cooked.
Another tip is to cook them in the microwave before putting them in the air fryer. Reduces cooking time and is a little bit cheaper on energy.

I tried this and my one baking potato did not cook at 200 degrees. It took 2 hrs at 200 degrees in my air fryer.

I'm guessing you had it set to 200 F. She said set it to 200 C, which is 392 F. You were cooking at half the proper temperature.

you need 45 to 1 hour to get the skins crispy, yes you can mirco wave and cook them for 15-20 min air fryer but your not getting the same crisp, low energy prices i do 1 hour, when prices rise i do mirco and 15 min
