That was shockingly close. I used to have a 2008 Chevy Cobalt sport and I used to smoke golf's all day long. The little car could get up and go and on a highway picked up speed quicker than a fighter jet

Here in Croatia(EU) Golf R with additional equipment because the standard equipment is so miserable, it costs $83281.88 so you tell me about that plastic unreliable vehicle. Everyone is waiting for Chinese cars and not fake German vehicles that are constantly in service and for that price, it's no wonder that VW is giving out layoffs because no one will buy them anymore.
I feel Fisker should have launched with the Ocean first. I think it looks better than the other models and fits customer want's of the small cross over/hatchback models. Still wouldnt buy one, but maybe they would have seen more adoption had they launched with the Ocean.
Im curious why Edmunds would choose to buy and review the Fisker. The car is not available anymore, no one can buy it so what is the point of reviewing it? That would be like buying an Atari Jaguar in 2024 and reviewing its games and how it plays. Also there has been alleged embezzlement and other financial malfeasance at Fisker so maybe rewarding them with a review is not the best idea but that’s another topic.

Since Magna Styer built/builds both this Fisker Ocean, the BMW Z4, and the MB G Wagon, I wonder why they failed so miserably with the Fisker? Did Magna Styer sabotage Fisker?

Seriously, sub-3000lbs was always a conservative benchmark for me growing up, and even then there were multiple options that were even lighter in the 2300-2700lb range. Now seems like that type of weight range is all but gone.

Teslas are known to fall apart before they reach 50K miles and that's the reason while they resell for pennies.
I'd love to see the Fisker again, but with better tires. The Bridgestone Potenza Sport are also OE tires in the EU. These should significantly improve times across the board, as the stock Alenzas are just not very good "sport" tires... With the Alenzas, the 1.01G corner force really shows the capability of the Ocean's handling. That said, the Ocean is basically on-par with the current Model Y Performance, and I think we a tire upgrade it could match the current EV6 GT. The new EV6 GT and the Ioniq 5 N are on another level...
Even a failed EV beats the best ICE...? I don't think this is a competition of "What brand is better" but rather how far ahead EV's have pushed past ICE powered cars.
I hate these comparisons, because npcs watch it, see that the EV wins and immediately take it for the better car just because its faster. Like the electric car wasnt going to win from the start, because its electric...

Yeah - it's not fair pitting ICE vs EV - we know the outcome just hearing the drive train differences.
Ionic N did it in 32.3 while the Fisker 37.x.
It's not always about putting like cars up against each other.
The golf Rs 0-60 4.9 is the slowest I’ve seen. All other testers were getting 4.2-4.4 sec.

With an ambient temp of 98, gotta wonder if the Golf was pulling timing or experienced heatsoak. 4.6 to 60 seems a bit slow.

I have a 100k model 3 with almost zero maintenance while my now needed way more, I had few vws as well that had way more problems before 100k mi.
