This looks good. It would be nice if more smartphones and tablets used USB instead of specialized ports (ex. Samsung, Asus, Apple). Another product you should make is an HDMI to standard USB adapter that runs in the opposite direction. So you can connect a digital camera to a PC, and it will show up as a webcam.
I purchased the Adapter and the PID9716 connector. I am pleased to report that the set up works brilliantly with my Samsung Galaxy S4. I tested it on my 60 inch Sony Bravia L.E.D and Emerson 19 inch LCD HDTV. Worked perfectly on both. I am so happy that I don't have to go buy an expensive tablet now to stream NFL Sunday Ticket on Sundays. I can put my sim card in my old iphone (so I have a phone to use during football.) and stream HD NFL with my Galaxy S4. Thanks Monoprice! Always the best.

I want to buy one for the cool factor. But I know I'll never use it. I bought mini hdmi cables for my Droid X. I used the hdmi out twice in the 18 months I had the phone, that was to test the hdmi out for about 5 minutes and the second time to show the wife some pictures of two cabinets.

The Evo4G has direct HDMI out from the phone itself.
Like the post mentioned from ekbuz, you just need a micro HDMI cable, with the normal size HDMI on the other end.
No adaptors needed. plug it in and away you go.

I bought a third party MHL adapter which is compatible with s2 s3 s4 and note but when I plug it in my Xperia ™ Z1 it doesn't show me anything. Whereas when I plug it in my galaxy s4 active it immediately displays. Can you tell where I am going wrong or what can be the fault?
Hi Zohaib,The MHL adapters for the Samsung phones come equipped with an 11 to 5 pin adapter which will nto be compatible with your phone. I would suggest trying a different adapter. Possible something like PID 8675 - goo.gl/gXJsVT
I plug everything as it should be. I can see the message on my phone (galaxy S2) detecting the HDMI connected, and the TV shows something connected to the HDMI, but when I select that device it says "no signal". Even if I rotate 90° the cellphone it rotates the screen, which unplugged doesn't. Any clue?
Hi Manuel,Please check the HDMI cable to make sure its functioning correctly. Also, the SII does not require an 11 to 5 pin adapter. If the adapter still does not function as intended, maybe try using a different phone that is MHL compatible? Otherwise we can process an RMA to get the adapter replaced. Interesting, but somewhat counter-intuitive.
As most HDTV's have USB ports, why not just make the MHL USB signal a standard, and have the TV be able to receive it? I assume the little MHL box doesn't have any components that can't be put in a TV to make it able to decode the USB MHL signal...

with the Samsung S4. Samsung uses a nonstandard micro-USB connector with
11 pins, rather than the 5 pins used by standard micro-USB connectors. Hope this helps.
