@@patmarkham519Good morning, Pat. I had a very similar childhood in the 70's. Grew up in a tiny hamlet in rural Somerset, SW England. My grandparents lived in Willow Creek and one night when my husband and I were visiting we heard the most chilling sound coming from the mountain directly behind my grandmother's house. Spoiler For something as big as a Sasquatch to be driven off by a couple of .22's? Would seem suspicious at first until consider just the legs and lower torso was visible in the door way. My lads I think the young fellow landed a groin shot. Feel bad for the squatch 😬
No way! The forest moon of Endor and Chewbacca er I mean Sasquatch. Had no idea it was filmed there. Ewoks, Death Stars, and beer… oh my! Great story, Mr. Rodger’s!
Oh my gosh !!! Generally I will say after your watching one of your broadcasts, "that was the most frightening story - it can't get anymore spooky!" Well.... once again, I was wrong! This was terrifying, given the location, and how remote these boys really were! Northern CA /OR/WA are definitely a hot spot for Yeti. I will rewatch the Return of the Jedi to see the lanscapes in Humboldt County- great fun fact!
When 'never to return' is a good option there is a seriousness that is not mistaken to listeners of your stories. Thanks, Chris, for letting us enjoy your artistry.
Chris your video quality has improved so much since I started watching you a year ago. You put such effort into the details to make the stories more engaging. This is such a great niche for you!
My kids and I love listening to your stories, Chris! So you know, we personally like them more without a lot of extra sound effects. You are a great storyteller! Either way, we still love them and are happy subscribers!
I'm not a bot and I like the sound effects as long as they're kept to moderation. The difference that was pointed out with Mr Ballen's podcast is that he's describing murders and the sound effects are gory and disgusting. (In my opinion) Yours are not distasteful, they're just ambient atmospheric noises and I think they're great. It's been great watching your channel evolve and grow over the years. Keep up what you're doing The vast majority of your viewers think your content just gets better and better with time. ❤😊
The editing is really superb 👌🏼 Love the titles. Really classy. And your backdrops never disappoint. On top of the cool stories ofc and the novelty beer reviews! 👍🏼
Are you a new viewer? The original version of him just talking to us is so much more enjoyable, makes it feel like real life. All the extra sounds are so distracting
@@sonnygL7Chris has done many different effects over the years and throughout all his story videos. He can play around with whatever he feels to and that's fine. He is allowed to. It is his channel. I don't really care about that as long as the story is great and only Chris tells it.
@@Gri03 who said he couldn't? All I'm saying is his original content and majority of it is him talking directly to us.. No need to take it personal I'm just giving some feedback. You see many channels who start off great and all go through the 100k +transition of making the content a production and more like the over saturated content on TH-cam. The Mr ballen type videos. All I'm saying is Chris's channel is special because you can tell he was a guy who just enjoyed telling stories... It really does make you feel like you're on a camping trip with him. All the extra stuff is at least to me distracting. I just hope if you're someone who is helping him with this you take comments like these with a positive outlook & not as a direct attack. If you did I'm sorry you feel that way. But many channels who transition to bigger numbers lack the ability to appreciate someone taking the time to comment as constructive criticism and shun them off as a troll.
What is up with these comments getting mad at people taking the time to tell Chris his original format is so much better. It looks like most ppl commenting are not a fan of all the extra sounds. I couldn't even concentrate on what he was saying.
Hi Chris. Great story. I can tell you put extra effort into the production. However, some of the visual effects were out of place, like the boat on the lake and especially the dog-man illustration when it actually was a Sasquatch running away after being shot. Keep up the good work. Long time subscriber.
Hi Chris Im just checking.in to hear tonights story. Im here in Beckwourth Ca. Pretty close to you at your home. Thats next to Portola. Went to church this morning. Nice with no snow yet. Have a great evening. Thanks for making these programs. God bless you keep you safe.
You are a great storyteller. You don't need a lot of sound effects while telling any story. (the caws of the crows, etc)The pleasure of the story is you telling it because you make it captivating. Are you doing your Halloween special this year?
So the birds were crows/? i thougt they were tame parakeets n a cage that you brought with you to the cabin…?? or maybe the ‘cabin’ is a “set” for filming in your home?
I like when the sound effect is thrown in at a spooky spot so its almost a jump scare. I don't watch these stories, I put my headphones on, lay my phone screen side down and listen when it's story time. I enjoy seeing what today's beer of choice is. 🍻
@@KDBee-ri5hi I like it, too, that way, when it is htrown in at a spooky part. I just think that this last video had too many unnecessary ones like crows cawing and birds tweeting, etc.

@@basecampchrisOh that is a comforting thought…I live in NW WA Actually my son claims he has seen a young sasqatch around our place at night. He says it is too big to be black raccoon, i think it was probably a black bear. there are a lot of them around. They come to raid the trash cans before the Waste Management truck arrives on pick -up day. and they come out of hiding around July 4th driven wild by the fireworks booming all day and night out here in the county. . There is a greenbelt corridor under the high voltage power lines that runs from our area all the way to the foothills of the mountains. wildlife travels along it in all seasons… Elk and cougar come down to find food but go back into the high country in spring. coyotes don’t care, they are everywhere. The cougars spread out into the outskirts of towns . so yeah bigfoot can travel too.
My heart started pounding when it walked around the cabin and started pulling the board. I cannot even imagine experiencing anything like this. I believe everything they shared.
That was something! All of these experiences are. Just had a friend come back from hunting and an hour before sunrise and he caught distant screaming on video. He stayed in his tree stand, never saw anything and it stopped in 15mins.
I love your stories. Keep them coming. I miss the good old days when the weather wasn’t very nice and you used to set up a tent in your backyard and you’d have your lantern and it was just like you were camping and then you would videotape the long hike from your backyard into your house. The only thing missing was the crunch crunch of your boots hitting the ground in the forest.
Love your new way of editing for the stories. Love those creepy forest clips you include at random intervals throughout the storytelling. It would be so cool to maybe one day have Cliff and Bobo from finding Bigfoot guest star as co story tellers on your channel for one episode
Coincidentally, my sighting was in this same county in 1974. I awoke to a noise of somebody in our campsite, and when I looked out the windows of our van, a big gray hairy guy was standing there looking at me. We both stared for a while, then he left, and I went back to sleep. About 3 or 4 months later, I came upon Roger Patterson's book and discovered "bigfoot." It's been reality to me for over 50 years now. I especially enjoy stories involving kids. Thanks for the great stories, Chris!
We didn't have the Internet and Xbox/PlayStation to take up our time like kids do now. Children naturally want to be helpful and do things and parents sticking them in front of a screen is taking that initiative away from them.
Also I hope whoever is now helping and advising you to add all this extra stuff isn't making fake comments saying how much they like them just to continue with making your channel a Mr ballen production. Please don't fall for it, I no longer follow (Mr ballen) bc the channel is now this big production movie like and TH-cam is over saturated with that same content. Remember your channel got big bc of your original style, your way of telling a story gives us the viewer a genuine sense of you speaking to us directly
I plan on reviewing, adjusting and toning down this new style...BUT to say that the comments are FAKE!! is NOT to know me or anything about the people here!
@@chalillo2268 I don't watch him at all anymore.. Mr ballen adds many sound effects and can tell is a big production, which to me is a waste of money. He has said it himself. TH-cam is not an easy job and I'm not going to discredit Mr ballen just bc I don't follow him anymore. Both you can tell take the time to perfect their videos.
@@basecampchris sorry Chris I meant bots a lot of channels have random comments that when you look at their page are all recently made accounts. For something as big as a Sasquatch to be driven off by a couple of .22's? Would seem suspicious at first until consider just the legs and lower torso was visible in the door way. My lads I think the young fellow landed a groin shot. Feel bad for the squatch 😬
This is one of your best stories. Loved it and the cabin setting you told it from.
No way! The forest moon of Endor and Chewbacca er I mean Sasquatch. Had no idea it was filmed there.
Ewoks, Death Stars, and beer… oh my!
Great story, Mr. Rodger’s!
Always my favorite way to end Sunday night! Another great story, Chris! 😲🌲🥾👣
Another great story Chris! Best wishes from Scotland 😊
Yes! Was waiting ... All afternoon..evening thanks Chris another great story. Ontario Canada
One of the scariest experiences... They must have been terrified.
This does complete my Sunday. This is a great story and I like the new graphics.
Chris is the best story teller. I love his sense of humor especially Mr. Rogers..not only that..Chris your smile is amazing
Awesome video!!!
My kids and I love listening to your stories, Chris! So you know, we personally like them more without a lot of extra sound effects. You are a great storyteller!
Either way, we still love them and are happy subscribers!
Thank you for posting! Love your stories. My folks wait all week for your updates😃
Great episode. The background sound effects were also great!
These kind of stories are the best..!!!! More of these
Chris is the best! #Forthealgorithm!😂
I wish I had a family member like Mike. He rules.
The Mister Rogers comment had me 😂🤣
The editing is really superb 👌🏼 Love the titles.
My wife and I LOVE your stories!
Hi Chris. Great story. I can tell you put extra effort into the production. However, some of the visual effects were out of place, like the boat on the lake and especially the dog-man illustration when it actually was a Sasquatch running away after being shot.
Keep up the good work. Long time subscriber.
Absolutely love this channel I don’t drink myself but the stories are great.
Your hilarious mr.rogers I love that!
It's Time 4 BASE HEAD 🗣️ CHRIS!!!!!!
❤
I LOVE THESE STORIES !!!!
Great story Chris I think these things use abandoned cabins or houses to sleep in and at dawn they go back further into the forest.
Im sittin here enjoying this story while i relax with some green... peace and take care everyone 😊
Great imitation of Mr Roger, Chris your the greatest storyteller
You are a great storyteller. You don't need a lot of sound effects while telling any story. (the caws of the crows, etc)The pleasure of the story is you telling it because you make it captivating. Are you doing your Halloween special this year?
💯 agree
Yes 💯 I hope he sees these comments.
20:08 that made me jump!! Good story Chris!
Best part of my Sunday is seeing a new video up from Base Camp Chris!🎉. Great spooky story Chris! Thanks again for your time and work! You do such a great job!
Awesome! Thank you!
Thanks .. Chris , I bet til this day I bet those 4 guys are even still freaked out by the Cabin in Woods and Bigfoot Creature ?😮
Thanks Basecamp for all of your hardwork. Love the stories.👍🙌 Wa, State aka Sasquatch Country
Yeeeah! Washington state is the Center of BF.
Maybe it was the owner of the cabin 😂
I cracked up at your Mr. Roger's impression. But the story was pretty intense. Those were some lucky boys!
Another good story.Thanks Chris 😊
That was something! All of these experiences are. Just had a friend come back from hunting and an hour before sunrise and he caught distant screaming on video. He stayed in his tree stand, never saw anything and it stopped in 15mins.
Good story Chris . That place is right up the road from where I live in Mendocino county . 😮
That would be fun...Take em' up to Squatch Country!
You came out late Sunday evening, so I didn't get to it until just now, about 3 am. The dog woke me up to potty.
If Keith hadn't pinched a loaf behind Bigfoot's favorite Redwood tree, they would've had a quiet night. 😂
Hi Chris, I enjoy everything you do,I enjoy your videos, Thank-you Chris “ENJOY ABLE”! A little on the scary side at times.Canada
To open a door and only see legs that would be the end of me! Lol. Great Story. Thanks Chris. ❤️🏕❤️
Love the new effects ❤
Coincidentally, my sighting was in this same county in 1974. I awoke to a noise of somebody in our campsite, and when I looked out the windows of our van, a big gray hairy guy was standing there looking at me. We both stared for a while, then he left, and I went back to sleep. About 3 or 4 months later, I came upon Roger Patterson's book and discovered "bigfoot." It's been reality to me for over 50 years now. I especially enjoy stories involving kids. Thanks for the great stories, Chris!
Great visuals and sound effects. Really enjoy your story telling. You are doing a fantastic job of relaying these incredible encounters.
Kudos to the boys for showing some initiative and fixing up the cabin. Sounds like they had some handy skills. I like hearing that these days.
Lol! Mr ballen doesn't even do half the work that Chris do! That's the reason I don't watch he's channel!
But it's nice that you interact with your audience, please don't take it personal just a long time viewer & would hate to see this channel become a production. This is one of the last channels that gives the viewer the experience and feeling like we are on a trip with you listening to you tell us a story. Less is more if that makes any sense. Anyways love your channel & appreciate you taking the time to respond. 🫶🏻
@@basecampchris oh and I just noticed my comment made it seem like I said I no longer follow you when I meant Mr ballen. I guess someone reading it can take it both ways but just in case you know. 🫶🏻
Great story I can just visualize these kids doing these things. Hiking and riding their bikes..that creature was most likely to live in that cabin. Great story Chris.love it keep them coming!!!
Gee….I wonder where those buckets hit??? May never be able to reproduce😬 This was a very intense story, loved the Mr Roger’s throwback! 7 more days til our next fireside story???!!! Can’t wait!
OMG!! Scary! That was back in the day when we really didn’t believe in monsters. Great story Chris.
Such a great story teller. Thanks for sharing another one with us buddy 🦧🌲
Came upon this video kind of late, but I just had to say that I really loved this story! Creeped me out!
