That last story about the fox really got to me. I found a dead fox in our back acreage several years ago. All the tall grass in 10 ft diameter pushed down and the fox was "displayed" in the center like a work of art. No outward signs of how it died. We had strange activity going on around the property the weeks surrounding this find including tree limbs bent and turned down and objects (like animal bones) left in place of now missing items from the yard.

Man, I was watching your Videos last night. I was already freaking out since I live next to the woods. But I wanted to experience the nice summerbreze. So I left my balconydoor wide open. I heard loud steps on the plastic roof right next to the balcony. I immediatly rushed out prepared to prevent any intruder from stepping on my balcony. When I turned on my phonelight I could only see the behinde of a rather big raccon rushing away. When he turned I saw the reflexion of his eyes looking at me. I guess he noticed the Sounds of your Video and was curiouse. What a night.

@@natehoover5266 No Yowie's here in Tasmania, Yowie's are an Australian mainland thing. I live in Tasmania an Island state about 125 miles from the closest state to us is Victoria across the Bass straight on the Australian, mainland. However I've been camping up in the central highlands of Tasmania and have heard a growl of from a Tasmanian Devil at night don't worry the growl from a Tasmanian devil is nothing to be concerned about as its bite is much worse than its growl. That's to say if one was foolish enough to try and put their finger near its open mouth. Then anyone would feel the intense pain as the jaw of a Tasmanian Devil. I would not to be that person. Other than that Tasmanian Devil's are very cute and are completely protected by law because of their low numbers in the wild. If you're confused by name of Bass Straight and think it was named after the fish Bass, well no it was not it was named after an early 19th century English explorer George Bass. Who sailed through that stretch water to try and determine if Tasmania, was an Island or joined to the Australia by a natural land bridge such as a isthmus. His discovered that indeed Tasmania is a separate Island from the mainland Australia.

Hello Mr woodsman Chris, good stories there. I had an encounter with one maybe about 50 years ago, I'm 84 now but didn't actually see anything so it's not worth mentioning on this venue although it scared the b a g e e g e e s out of me at the time! I was walking alone way out in the middle of nowhere in the country down the road when I heard somebody walking behind me two or three blocks so I started walking a little faster and it started walking a little faster so I started jogging and it started jogging and then my adrenaline kicked in and I started I swear making 4 ft leaps and it was keeping Pace with me and this went on for two or three blocks and then I didn't hear nothing anymore. I didn't smell anything or here any vocalization. I'm so glad you didn't catch up with me!

This was great. Good idea to read directly from the email. This enables The Listener to visualize what was really happening through the eyes of the storyteller. Thank you

Hi Chris, I've been listening off and on to your channel for about 6 weeks. I listen before I go to bed- it's my 'relax time'.
Enjoy all the stories so much! I think the one story that got me was about the (4) hunters and something was throwing rocks at them and didn't want them in the meadow....so interesting!
Keep up the great job you are doing..@ be safe. Yours is the first channel I've listened to 👍

Hi Chris, I am happy I discovered your channel. I love going on these hikes with you as my health prevents me from doing a real trek. I've always had my doubts about the unknown but your telling of other people's stories has me thinking. Be well and safe!

Hi again Chris. East Coast Eric here. Just wanted to say I have been enjoying all aspects of your site, the different beer, the gear and the stories. Always nice to find a good youtube site. I don't watch TV just youtube.
    Stay safe,
Eric PS: I think it would be just as terrorizing to run across a rabid animal as it would be a big foot.

Hey Chris Jay here lol I've always been a solo camper ,not much hiking involved only because of back issues. I live in Indiana, but used to do camping trips on my own to Colorado. People used to ask how I could do that on my own .to me at first was about facing my fears .I've heard alot of stuff that would make most people pack up and run ,but have always had the mindset that whatever is meant to happen is gonna happen, live ur life facing it ,run today ,get it Tom keep hiking.i use ur videos to help me go to sleep. Your attitude and personality has a real calming effect on me and I'm sure other people keep putting out ur videos

Great stories Chris and with you sharing them in the very same kinds of places where you could find yourself with a new story of your own too! Hiking in the woods at night is something I would pretty much avoid since I am not much of an outdoorsman...not at night anyway. I appreciate all of your videos a lot.👍

Earlier this year I was staying a motel in manzanita oregon with an ocean view. The night before I was on the beach where lots of other people were sitting on logs looking at the ocean. The next morning I woke up just after dawn and peeked out the window of the motel to see the beach. I saw someone sitting on one of the logs for the longest time alone. I got my binoculars to see closer and it turned it's head sideways and what looked like a long coated man sitting was a huge bald eagle. Spooky for sure.
