You're a brave man to go alone to the middle of the woods to tell these stories.. legend!
Thank you! C
There's plenty of people who DO go out into the middle of the woods alone, literally all the time. I go out all the time. Its not a big deal.
It doesn't feel like Sunday until I have heard a BaseCamp Chris story. Keep hiking and keep the stories coming!
Growing up in central Pennsylvania and then moving here to the Olympic Peninsula years ago, I have no doubts anymore. 3 sightings, (in 45 years) rock throwing (bowling ball sized boulders) and all the noises, plus the response from our cougar and bear chasing dogs that suddenly wet themselves and run and hide in the house. The sounds alone, like the ground shaking 'gorilla bark" I heard the first winter I was here, coming from the quarry, right across the road from us. We live very rurally about a mile from the mountain foothills and a mile from the beaches, along a major salmon filled river. Kind of like a highway (quarries, power line cut, river and lots of cover) for the local sasq'ets.
You have a rock quarry across from you? I feel they are attracted to those gravel or rock quarries
I'm always scanning t background just in case a sasquash pops up to listen to these intriguing storys! 😊
That made me smile. ❤️
Me too… I’m always looking behind Chris. Especially when he’s sitting by a Creek, where he wouldn’t be able to hear something coming.,,. I hope he’s carrying either a 10mm or a .45 with him.

Me too😂
So funny. 😂
Can't believe you are sitting in the dark alone telling these chilling stories. But we love hearing them!
It would be awesome for Chris to have a meet up at a camp site and everyone gather around a fire to tell their stories 🔥
How much time do y'all have? My entire life has been a paranormal experience.
I'm not kidding.
It's so common to me that most of it slips my mind.
I just love when I run into old friends and they are so excited to talk about whatever weird shit they had to deal with when they were hanging out with me because we all know most people won't even let their friends/family talk about their own personal experiences, or they're just not interested.
It usually takes them a while to notice the blank look on my face.
Most of those people don't believe that I could have forgotten that experience that changed the foundation of their lives.
Yes folks you had 3 maybe 4 experiences.
I know that it will mess with your mind. I get it.
When you call 3 or 4 experiences a slow day though only the extremes stick with you very long.
Doors opening themselves?
I don't even notice.
Lights being turned off when I'm alone in the room?
Thanks for helping me keep the light bill down.
Digging in the bottom of my closet trying to find the shoes I wanted to wear when I feel a hand on my shoulder and hear a lady ask, are you ok, and sounding very concerned?
Those shoes are still in there somewhere and that was months ago. Lol.
I was the only lady in the house at the time also.
Oh and feeling her breath, too freaky.
How? Why? If they're dead why are they breathing?
That really did freak me out.
I honestly wasn't ok at the time though and I would have probably continued to brush it under the rug indefinitely had she not made me deal with it.
Ok I was terrified that she'd come back and be more aggressive in her attempt to make me care for myself.
I am not sure if she's one of my faes "personalities".
I have no idea what all she can show herself as.
Yes I have a fae in my home.
I keep telling my family that I'm going to go to the doctor and tell them all of this and then I'm going to laugh all the way to the nut hut while they're stuck here dealing with my "friends" when they get bored and miss me. Lol
@77Scarlet,
Well, give me a couple of years to pull the $$$ together to fly out from Boston 😄 😉
I'm down he is in my neck of the woods

How lucky for you!
Have you ever met Chris?
Would be epic
One of my favourite TH-cam channels. Love what you do. ⛺️🥾
I love everyone's passion for Bigfoot. It's always been a total fascination for me ever since that tv program in the 1970s called In Search Of. Thanks for all your dedication, Chris and followers.
Do you remember when the movie "Legend of Boggy Creek" came out? That did it for me!
@@rivercrow8988 I've never seen it. But I'll check it out! Thanks!
I loved In Search Of !
Love to hear your stories and get away from how crazy the world has become. It is really disturbing.
The world is going to get worse the Bible tells us so.
Yes I agree!!
Religion is the opiate of the masses.
Best part of sunday thanks chris keep hiking 🌲 🌲
This is one of my all-time favorite channels. But I just had a good giggle, I just thought that “what if Sasquatch, dog man or whatever were going to sneak up on Chris and throw rocks, branches and what-not….. just to realize he’s sitting in the woods in the dark talking to absolutely no one (in person at least) and suddenly decided to call it a night for safety reasons” 😂
I loved you moving around and these 3 stories
Very disappointed the young boy could not get his relatives up to see the footprints.
I know. All they had to do was throw on a jacket and slippers walk out there real quick and look. They're being lazy and didn't care
YAY!!! No bugs. The arch boulder in the beginning is so neat! Love these stories! So chilling!! 😨
Here is one Chris. Yesterday my son was coming home and about 2 miles from here he seen an animal walk across the road in front of his truck about 300' away. It walked on 2 legs and it took it about 4 steps to get across the road. It came out a corn patch and went into a corn patch on the other side of the road. He is not sure what it was but he knows it wasn't a bear. It was dark brown in color. He guessed it to be a little over 6' tall.
Where was this at? Maybe a juvenile Dogman, perhaps? 🤷🏻♀️
Possibly a Bigfoot
@@7NativeRN Upstate NY.
@@7NativeRN He said it looked like a person but all hair as far as he could tell.
I'm in the fingerlakes region, where in upstate ny (if you don't mind me asking)?
Time to kick back and watch some Basecamp. Thank You!😊
All 3 stories were great. I love that you went to the trouble of going on different locations for each story. Makes me wonder how I used to be brave enough to camp out nowhere. Now I just watch others camping!
Three stories needs three beers.
Not if you're driving after the three encounters. Only if he is at home in his den.
GOD BLESS YOU
Yeah, I think the last brew was a sparkling H2O.. 🙂
😅
Happy Sunday everybody!!!❤😂🎉 It's story time!!!😊❤🎉🙏
Love all your stories, Chris, and the way you tell them and vary your locations. I grew up (12 years) in a three-duplex colony in Western Labrador. Five families manned a power station in Menihek with little outside contact. Spent my growing up years in the bush but too cold for Bigfoot since it reached -50 F below in winter. Watching your stories is like sitting around the campfire again so thank you.
❤
Am I the only one that watches the tree line behind Chris to see if anything (anyone?) is sneaking around? 😳
@@debpeck4895 you never know!
I watch all around him! I don't like when he is out there at night.
I always do! 😅
I'm waiting for the whoop whoop whoop !
I do also.
Chris needs a million subscribers!
Love the scary stories....watching from Scotland 😊
We spent eight days in Scotland at the end of May. What lovely people and beautiful countryside! We were surprised to hear from our guide that there are no bears or predators for the sheep there.
@@debpratt52we don't have large predators, apart from humans, in the UK. The only large animals are Red Deer
Story 2 reminds me of when I was a kid at our family cabin in the NC mountains. Every now and then dad would not have the key so he left a pane of glass loose on the back window. He'd hoist me up to it, I'd climb through and unlock the back door. I felt so accomplished and helpful. Lol
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I always enjoy these Sunday story times with Base Camp Chris!!
I found the dog jumping into swamp water at night was way more terrifying to me than the yellow eyes of a sasquatch
Same here. That was very dangerous for the Dog! I hope he was either well Rewarded, or Taught not to do that.
We have only seen 1 cougar in the wild but, many bobcats. We were sleeping in the open one night when we could hear something circling us over and over. Suddenly, 2 parents and 5 kids were crammed in our suburban trying to sleep upright. -ha
Same here, Scott. We saw a mountain lion cub near Cherry Valley, NY and have seen bobcats, plus the black bears in the ADKs.
@@debpratt52 We are in western WA. Cougars are thick, you just don't see them. We have had two in our yard. We live by a creek. Waterways are grocery stores and concealment for cats; that's how they travel cross country. Plenty of bears too. Most run off before seen. Just have to be ready to defend yourself against the rare bear or cat with 'nothing to lose' -ha Our 5 kids and I spent tons of time in the woods with not many problems. I feel safer there than the city. Take care.
Some CURRENT Cougar facts:
In the Pacific Northwest, there are currently 1 female per 2-sq miles. When they have kits, the kits will stay and hunt with momma for up to 2 years.
The Cougars USED TO HAVE 1 female for every 20-30 sq miles. This has changed because of a population explosion in the kits per momma cat. 1-2 kits per season was normal, now Oregon Dept of Fish and Wildlife is seeing 2-3 kits per momma! The amount of young cougars around where I live (lane county) is ridiculous. We see them in DAYLIGHT crossing the street, napping in peoples yards, stealing peoples pets and small farm animals.
It’s out of control.
@@staceytroffer8287 I hear you. No doubt. I remember when hunting with dogs and baiting were banned here in the early 90's. A trapper on the radio said, "Until now, I paid to trap but, in a few years, you will be paying ME to trap." I think that certain folk don't want us getting our own food out of the woods (there won't be any left.) Why else fill the woods with wolves, cougars, and bears? Thanks for the info.
@@ScottCarlson-cz7wj the loss of using dogs to trap/hunt the cougars is the main reason we see such population growth in our area. Now we have a few men given the authority by ODFW to humanely leg trap the cats, then euthanize only the cats deemed problem animals.
These are APEX PREDATORS with no known threat, except a human with a dog and a gun. Period. The population balance is way out of whack, to the cougar’s detriment, because there isn’t enough prey to keep them all well fed. The cat cams we have placed in the forests (SEMI-RURAL) areas where I live show skinny malnourished cougars. A skinny malnourished cougar is a dangerous cougar.
In 2018 I remember 1 hot summer night I’m sleeping in my trailer with all the windows open, and I can hear the low purr/growl of the big cat as she paces around my trailer. My 4 dogs, in bed with me (don’t judge) all have heads up, deadly silent, follow her growl as she paces around under each window. My mastiff started a low growl….. and we heard her quickly pad off into the forest.
Cougars don’t like dogs. They don’t necessarily fear them, but they don’t like them. Something in the self preservation gene, I imagine.
I’m glad Millard the dog swam back.
21:32 Great sound
Great video! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Chris. Thank you, Tyler for sharing. You are believed. Love the trio of stories Mr England. Kiwi Linda and Bruce 🦧🍺😊
Tyler, if you read this, I believe you.
Yes Me too !!! ❤️
Thanks, that means allot.
I believe you
To see something like that… holy cow! 😳
Thank you, good sir. Appreciate you sharing your experience. 👍😃
I believe you too! Long ago I heard an extremely loud scream coming from the woods. I got out of there!
Dang Chris, you are such a good story teller! For real, I listen to several cryptid story tellers. Think yours pulls me in the most. Great job! Keep on hiking! Love me some hiking and good stories.
That's great a 3-in-1 story time. Thank you Chris for sharing the stories from 1978, 1980, and 2000. Good to see you were in your truck for the last one, it was really dark out there!
Thank you Chris for all your great scary stories!!! You truly are a talented story teller, so much that I can't wait to hear them on sundays!!!
I have no patience with people too lazy to wake up to share something amazing. Some things are worth an hour less sleep. I shared the predawn visit of Comet West that reached across 30 degrees of the sky one spring morning in 1976. My brothers responded to my urging them to join me and still have that memory today.
How did you get a "•" as your @name?
I understand, however we don't know everything going on in their life. Geesh
That's a tricky name you have there!
I have narcolepsy and guess what comes with it?
Insomnia.
Yep I'm exhausted all day until I try to go to bed.
IDC if God himself walks down my street. I'm not getting up.
I love the 3 story combo better !
Great storytelling, had me on the edge of my seat. 👍
I need a Job Drinking Beer ! Congrats Chris on your sucess ! Love the story ,Most likely these are from another dimension, which is why they are so elusive, the biggest question is why do they keep crossing over.?
@@briantix7693 we have the good berries ;)
Thanks for more great family time with great stories.
Wow just heard this story and right at the 24 minute mark you can hear a yell or scream. Chris was busy talking and didn’t even noticed. Scary if you ask me, I could never.
I love listening to your stories.
I had one walk through my yard in February this year during the late afternoon/early evening (daylight).
😮
Never ' molson golden '! Pabst blue ribbon!!💙
Seeing all the beautiful places you visit for your stories really makes me want to visit different parts of the USA. I live in the UK and we don't really have a wilderness here.
Thank you Chris for these 3 amazing stories...KEEP HIKING!!¡!!
i personally really enjoy when you bring your mom and dad along! beautiful people, thank you for sharing.
Love the stories , I to believe. You take your time and explain it so well. I'm hooked on these videos.God Bless
Thank you Chris, I need this tonight.
Such great stories and I love that you made the effort to get to three different beautiful places to share your craft, much love Chris
Thank you so much!

Happy Sunday with Chris... Keep hiking stay safe.. Ontario Canada
I always look forward to the weekend so I can watch your videos. Cheers
Awesome, thank you!🌲
Always a good time hanging out with you Chris, will be looking for you next weekend. God Bless
Chris that light is awesome! With the different light settings ✨️ 👌🏻 I would buy one of those. 🎉
You are a great storyteller!
I was totally mesmerized with your storytelling Chris, the last story you told was even creepier in the dark!
Thanks Chris. I really enjoy your sharing people's stories.
Good story
Commenting because I love this guy's content, and also to boost his channel in the YT algorithm. Thanks, Chris. Keep it up!
You really have a way of creating a spooky atmosphere when you tell these stories. I can imagine everyone around a campfire spellbound and totally hanging on your every word while listening to you. Why do we humans get so much enjoyment and seek being scared as entertainment? It really doesn't matter why ..... just keep doing it! 😆😍
Appreciate the 3 stories back to back lol
Good afternoon Chris!
Thanks Chris for the three great stories 👍
I really liked this - moving from place to place - different drinks, etc. Very intertaining!!!
Home Sweet Home! Avery is just up the mountain! People have stories of smelling the big guy up here and on Sonora Pass! Thank God every day that I live in this beauty! Fishing up on Ebbetts for my Birthday! Nothing like the beauty of the Sierra! Absolutely love your channel, thanks for all you do!
Thanks for taking us with you, and for hiking longer for our benefit😄 Set up camera, walk away, go back to get it 🥾
Gorgeous locations tonight. :)
As always very interesting stories! The background music is new and distracting from your calm presentation; I know some folks probably like it, but to me your style of a few sound effects once in a while is enjoyable. Too much background noise reminds me of modern TV programs that play the drama music so loud you can’t hear the actors talking.
Fun Fact:
It's illegal to hunt Bigfoot in Skamania Wa.
I do hope its also illegal for Bigfoot to hunt littlefoot (us!!).
Bigfoot is also protected by law in Whitehall, New York!
A very good law!👍
Why do they have laws on the books for a so called mythical creature ?
That's been my question ever since I heard of that Law.
Another Fun Fact is: in Skamania County Wa, Bigfoot is Classified as a Sub Species of Homo Sapien.
I so look forward to Sundays for Base Camp Chris and Mr. Ballen. Great stories as usual Chris. When telling your stories I picture myself in the story. You really bring them to life. Thanks. Love from Maryland.
I believe ya Tyler absolutely ! ❤
Hey Chris,

Trilogy of Terror, Base Camp Chris style. Cool 😎
I was born and raised in northern Minnesota. My family were advid campers\outdoor . One time when I was about 12 we did a 2 week camping trip up North in the Boundary Water Canoe Area off the Gunflint trail. My parent and younger brother and older brother, who was a joker. Anyhow we portage in a few miles to an isolated lake and took the boat further to what we thought was an island and set up camp. A few days later as I was playing close to the shore, I looked up over by some trees and saw a furry something watching me, but hiding behind a tree. It was huge. Thinking it was my older brother trying to scare me with his fur lined coat inside out, I just went back to playing with some rocks. When I looked back it was gone. Later I told my mother about it and she told me that Tom had been out fishing with Dad all day. It could have been a bear, but it was huge. Never saw it again, but heard lots of strang noises.
The legendary Chris

Hey Chris. great job, love the content, stay healthy , stay safe.
Wow, this was awesome, Chris.
I loved that you were in your truck and didn't have to walk in the dark yikes 😳 😬
Just you sitting in the back of your truck was scary 😬
I love those lights pretty awesome.
These stories were scary. I thought that the Bigfoot was going to come back to that cabin, if the boy could get in that easy so could Bigfoot or any other Cryptid yikes 😬 😳
I would be putting better locks on that cabin for sure.
I just have to say thank you for 3 awesome encounters. Wow
Each encounter had it's own frightening feel.
Thank you for sharing Chris, and for all the hard work and time you put into your videos.

Great video as usual and the second one is Vermont I'm a Vermonter and Live about 2 hours north only because no interstate to get there but that's a great wild area Bennington triangle so great bunch of stories!!!
I’ve experienced a very similar situation as the family did when looking out of their camper. Something is out there…

Thanks, you too!
Thanks Chris, You Are The Best Story Teller....😊🙏🏽🙏🏽😊 🐾🐻 🦧 #Legend
I'm loving these great stories!!😊 Thank you.
Thanks, Chris for more riveting camp stories in the mountains! It sounds like Tyler had one heck of a fright near Avery. I've never been there but I got close while rappelling down Moaning Cavern in October of 2013, only 25 miles away. The whole area around Angel's Camp, Vallecito, Murphy etc. has strange, creepy kind of vibes emanating through the forest and woods.
Thank you Chris! Love to kickback and listen to your stories on Sundays.
