Yes, I was born in late Dec. of 1955. Much different time back then and hitch hiking was common and not frowned upon. Even in 1981 while traveling from Detroit to Las Vegas, I picked up to early 20 years old males at a gas station around Dayton, OH that needed to get to their Mom's funeral in Texas. I gave them a ride all the way to Oklahoma City and 20 dollars to find another ride down I-35 to Dallas.
My experience with hitching a ride was that I was picked up by a Real Serial killer..NO Joke I later saw him on " Americas Most Wanted " who would have known that the narrator was guilty of murking his own little boy Adam ! !
In the 70’s…my mom became vigilant about stranger danger. This was during the Bundy murders. She warned us about different scenarios. She was ahead of her time.

Awesome story, thanks Chris! I lived in Banff one summer (2000). Lots of dangerous wildlife there, moose, elk, bears, mountain lions (at that time, I never even considered watching out for Sasquatch). These animals just wander through the town from time to time, since it is in the middle of a National Park, and the rangers get called in to redirect them. But it IS pitch black in the mountains. You literally cannot see your hand in front of your face. So I can't imagine the fear that they felt. Yikes!
Glad there was a lesson here. Many of us had terrible hitch hiking stories. Simpler times? In many ways. But predators existed then too. And they weren't reported.
For the first time, I was truly creeped out. First these poor girls were attacked and then stalked by a Sasquatch; all in one night. They’re probably still traumatized. I remember when I was a kid. me and my cousin were shooting a BB gun near the edge of the woods. We were setting up bottles and taking turns. When my cousin took a shot the BB ricocheted. When it did it hit something behind where we were sitting up the bottles. There was like an old concrete platform of a building that had fallen. behind that was like a 12foot drop off into the woods. Anyways when the baby hit water if it was behind the building platform it moved. I got so scared I couldn't move. We were standing up on the hillside about 20 feet. Whatever it was it was literally the same height as us when we were standing on the hillside and it was standing down 12 ft behind that building platform. It was huge it was dark like a black silhouette had no details. It made no noise and it had an outline like a human except its arms were super long and it was really tall and big. What scared me and my cousin so bad wasn't that we saw something. it was the fact that we had been standing there shooting that BB gun not realizing that something had been standing there the whole time watching us. When it did move it took all my strength I had to get my feet to move. to run to my grandfather's house. I've never been that scared in my life since. My grandfather went back with a rifle but never could find any trace of anything. My uncle claimed we saw a bear but what I saw was no bear. I know that a hunter said a bear was watching us as kids playing in the yard one time. And I know that just a few years ago I walked out onto my deck. I still live in the same area. It was early fall with all the summer leaves still .99% green. It got so dark so fast walking along a mountain that his the sun quickly. It got so dark I couldn't see my hand 6 inches from my face. I'm watching the silhouette of the trees behind you Chris, as the story's tension mounts!😱So far so good - - nothing moving back there! About 1962 or so a friend and I, both in middle school, were walking along a country road through heavy woods when a car pulled up and the driver opened the door. We went over, thinking he needed directions. As we saw he was naked from the waist down, he reached out to grab me. Terrified, we dove into the woods and hid behind a downed tree, while he drove back and forth looking for us. Eventually we had to walk home, the scariest part of all, thinking he'd be out there waiting. Yes, even in the early '60's these predators were out there, it just hadn't become so common.

Hi, Chris, thanks for another great story. I'm now watching all your videos for the 3rd time. Whenever I get overwhelmed with life I spend time on your channel to take me off on another great hike. As always, a great story told by a master storyteller! I was a young teen in south California, and hitch hiking was considered an ok alternative for young people to travel. I never considered it because my father was a Master Sargent in the Army, and he had his rules. He said it was dangerous, so that was that. I think these girls were in much graver danger from the weirdo who picked them up, then dumped them in the middle of nowhere…than the Bigfoot.
Hi Chris! I did go hiking in some rough terrain last night. It was quite the journey, and I know how this will sound, but I clearly heard a voice say my name " Wesley"! I'm pretty weirded out by it, and might try some new areas because of that? With love, and respect. Wes Sept

Great story , i used to hitchhike everywhere back in the late 60s , early 70s. I enjoyed it tremendously. Not in Canada. Mostly in Va , where i started from to anywhere i would end up at. I left Richmond Virginia once going 300 miles and took me two months to get there. I got a ride with some people that lived in a commune , i ended up staying two months. That was a great summer.

That was really scary about those girls. Had me on the edge of my seat. Thank goodness they finally got a ride into town. Your hike out in the dark was also scary. Good story telling, Chris.
In native lore, sasquatch were known to kidnap and force human women. So tk go from an attempted assaultz to possibly that... they escaped truly horrific fates
Great story Chris!!! Sounds terrifying. Those poor girls! Like I always say, people who walk through and hike the forest are brave souls! These stories are scary but exciting!!! You tell these encounters so well. Get out of the darkness Chris!!! Run, Forest Run!!!! 😅 Stay safe out there. ❤

Hello again chris, Good scary story, Poor girls. Catch your next sunday thanks a lot and keep Hiking😂❤
I do believe that Bigfoot statue is in Kent, BC. remember seeing it next to “Sasquatch park” (actual park look it up)
I bet those girls never hitched hike again. Interesting that you never know, and it was dark out. Stay safe, and blessings.
A scary one for sure. Thanks Chris!
Great Story Thanks Chris 👍🏻
Terrifying!😯😯😯😯😯
Chris
You are so brave, but you make me anxious 🤦
Keep hiking but take care 👍
As always, a great story told by a master storyteller! I was a young teen in south California, and hitch hiking was considered an ok alternative for young people to travel. I never considered it because my father was a Master Sargent in the Army, and he had his rules. He said it was dangerous, so that was that. I think these girls were in much graver danger from the weirdo who picked them up, then dumped them in the middle of nowhere…than the Bigfoot.
💛🙏Thank You Chris🙏💛
Hi Chris! I did go hiking in some rough terrain last night. It was quite the journey, and I know how this will sound, but I clearly heard a voice say my name " Wesley"! I'm pretty weirded out by it, and might try some new areas because of that? With love, and respect. Wes Sept
A young woman had the experience of being saved by someone who saw her walking 🇨🇦
Chris...your story telling keeps getting better and better. This one especially. If there is a better YT storyteller on YT I haven't run across them. I keep watching for your personal Sasquatch experience story. Stay safe, stay healthy!
Thank you!! C🌲👀🌲
Thank you Chris. As usual great story and presentation!!! Be safe!
Great stories Chris. Thx for staying till dark, that really made it scarier.

Great story Chris...
This was a great story Chris. Thank you. Please be careful out their.
At 14:30 min. the crickets suddenly started chirping, as if by agreement, all at the same time! From complete silence to a whole chorus of crickets in just 3 seconds! Nature is a miracle, nature is the most beautiful thing on planet Earth... God's perfect creation! Mountains and forests are by far the most beautiful landscapes on Earth!
Sounds like a horror movie Chris and ending with your hike out in the dark!
Thank you for all your work! I love the hikes in & out of the forest also.
Jeanette is beautiful!
The fields looked amazing!!
The story is crazy scary, just imagine back then.....dark dark dark......
My first thought was, oh no, I can feel the bugs bitting through my tv. Then I saw you had bug spray. ....that you inadvertently ate... 😮 Love your stories. Keep safe.😊😊😊
Another bonus from the deep woods off, it cleans those foggy plastic headlights to an almost new look.
Amazing stuff. Did it a week ago 👍.
Brilliant story, those girls must have been terrified
First the man then the man beast 😳😳 I bet they’ll never ever forget that time in their lives
Good one Chris.
Great story chris,,i was watching the background to your left shoulder,,in the darkness of the trees behind you,a light flashes on and off,,at about 12 minutes, onwards until the end of the video...😳
You and Jeanette look like a great couple, Chris. Thanks for the story.
Great story telling, dramatic sounds, suspense..rock on Chris🕶
That was really scary about those girls. Had me on the edge of my seat. Thank goodness they finally got a ride into town. Your hike out in the dark was also scary. Good story telling, Chris.

Thank you! and Mike for sending it...
I loved this. I was born in 1968 in western New York state. We learned very young not to pick up hitchhikers. What a change.
Scary stuff...never know who is going to pick you up...
Wow great story glad no one was hurt thanks for sharing 😊
In native lore, sasquatch were known to kidnap and force human women. So tk go from an attempted assaultz to possibly that... they escaped truly horrific fates
I really enjoy your stories and camping adventures
Thank you Chris

Great story Chris!!! Sounds terrifying. Those poor girls! Like I always say, people who walk through and hike the forest are brave souls! These stories are scary but exciting!!! You tell these encounters so well. Get out of the darkness Chris!!! Run, Forest Run!!!! 😅 Stay safe out there. ❤

Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow this one had me pacing the floors lol. Great story. Love this channel. 🍻
I've heard of some real disturbing incidents of disappearances and murders along the Yellowhead highway between Prince Rupert and Prince George. It's a beautiful stretch of road, but very remote.
