Do an ark basics for yutyrannus! I think they might be surprisingly good as an adventuring mount: large predator status means raptors ignore you, ability to recruit wild carnos, great speed, meat harvesting, and they look really cool
Daedon's are very good. I had a 1mil health fire wyvern because I wanted to test how fast it's healing was. I left it overnight and it barely regenerated 10% of it's health on it's own. I then proceeded to use 2 Daedons next to it and it healed about 700,000 HP over 30 minutes.

I never appreciated the Daeodon until I started playing on Valguero. My main ground mount is a lvl 268 Daeodon I named Big Boss. He's an absolute tank and has saved my butt more than a couple times now. I've been using him to tame Rex's. Only downside is he goes through a ton of food. Regardless, I never thought I'd be so attached to such an ugly creature. Lol

Using its healing against it for the purpose of taming is absolutely genius. Simple, but genius. Def gonna try doing this
Using a crossbow to knock one out will trigger the healing buff without fail. No need to whack it first.

I found one on its own on genesis 2 and tamed it with a TEK bow.
Very timely you've chosen to do a Daeodon guide as I'm gearing up for boss fights myself (not sure if you remember me from your prev posted episode asking about a Yuty saddle?). Anyway, I wanted to ask if the mechanic of no cooldown when force-feeding kibble as opposed to regular meat still works? (have yet to test it coz I'm saving all my precious kibble). I understand why you don't take a Daeodon in to boss fights but personally I'd rather try to ride the pig than my Yuty (if only I could find it a decent saddle for said Yuty ;-). Got a decent amount of Rex kibble saved up (easiest to get) but didn't know about the Iguano benefits - superb guide and advice!
Ok, so I tested it myself - wasn't really sure what this "no cooldown" thing was all about. Went all out against the Alpha Brood and oh so close. When you're feeding kibble it's not healing the pig, only filling its Food bar (so ~10k Food stat fills in about 10 secs when forcefed). I was using Rex kibble but your Iguanodon kibble would help speed that forcefeed part up even more.

Hi! I'm new to Ark. I caught my first one today. The kibble you are talking about doesn't exist anymore. Caught him to prepare for the boss fights in the future.

Is 'Cooked Prime Meat' now the best food option for boss fights... since dino kibble is no longer a thing? Cooked prime provides the same amount of value as raw prime (50), yet cooked prime stacks (unlike mutton and raw prime) and it spoils slower.
I'm breeding Rex's right now, so i've been collecting loads of prime meat and cooking it up. I could use it to make Superior Kibble (currently its most preferred food at 120 value) or just use the cooked prime for the boss fights, has anyone done the math on this?

Heya guys I gotta question,what if I was to fill this dino with cooked meat and have it passively heal a baby wyvern,when the food runs out on the Daeodon will it die right?

I have a lvl 160 called bacon that follows my wooly rhino called Hennessey.
Both are op.
Full rhino charge I can one shot a lvl 50 and below creature I'd timed right.
If I miss or run out of Stam the deodon steps up an helps take the heat let my rhino gain Stam and distance then repeat charge.
Took down a lvl 150 carno with ease...
Without bacon though..
Wouldn't survive the moment my rhino runs out of Stam in a fight..

Phlinger Sir question for you. So as they are pack animals dies it made sense to tame a pack or breed multiple to help heal even faster? To where you can have overlapping heal buffs or does it cap out at one buff total?
My understanding is that if you have three of them, they get a pack buff to healing. Let me know if that doesn't work out, though.

Strongest creature in ark. I’ve seen level 5 deaodons kill level 100 Yutyrannus. And literally everything in their path. I’ve defeated ark bosses with more ease than these fuggers. Seeing as how it’s a dumb pig, seems a little op lol.

It also depends on what you are looking for. Most TH-camrs have their gather and taming rates super high. Nothing wrong with that, as it allows you to get into the later tiers of gameplay with less grinding. I've discovered that even the stock settings leave a bunch of dinos in the cold, since you don't need mounts to get around quickly on the ground, or pack animals to carry your stuff. Raising the gather rates compounds this, since you don't really need the bottom-tier gatherers as badly. Increasing the taming rates above 2-4x also reduces the need for a kibble farm.
Again, it all depends on your play style.

Sam Thompson You need a male and female to breed them and make fertilized eggs and not just normal eggs that are used in cooking or eating to get quick health, stamina and hunger

In mobile ark they are only found in dungeons it’s unfair
