@@aidanquiett668 that was Wayne Knight, the dude from Jurassic Park that tried to steal the Dino DNA using a shaving cream bottle, Bill Murray was seen playing golf with Michael and Larry Bird and then at the end after the game was won.
The thing I liked is that the characters themselves addressed being turned 3d as a bad thing. They reacted to it as if they were being put into Dip. Which I think is kinda a statement on the Looney Tunes personality in general, Chuck Jones himself hated the ideas presented by 3d animation/CG/tweening and while he warmed up to it, he was allways stalwart in the idea that computer animation is lazy and lacks heart. That a pencil and paper are allways going to be better then a stylus and screen. Of course he died still believing that and never saw how far digital animation had progressed. But Bugs and his friends have allways held the same sentiment. I am happy to see that the new animation team still feels the same way Chuck did, and that they gave the Tunes such a horrific reaction to being transformed into 3d, how happy they were to be reverted back to 2d, and that in many ways they hammered in the fact that 2d animation will never die. It's why I still love the Looney Tunes, why I still prefer them over Mickey and his gang, and why I hope Warner Brothers can stay around for many years. There are a lot of concerns with the studio, I see a lot of collaboration with Disney, while Disney owns Fox... which to some extent they have some control over WB's... I really hope they don't end up fully being consumed. I'm not happy with the direction Disney has been taking Fox liscences, and Mickey's crew. So I would hate to see them rip the heart out of the Looney Tunes.
There’s a quote, I forget who by, but it always sticks with me. “3D animation will be considered top of the line until the next generation or method makes it mediocre. Traditional animation will always be timeless when done beautifully and with heart.” I can see where Chuck came from in his sentiment, but I can also see a lot of animators on both sides of the “issue” put good work into this film. I can’t wait to see it for myself to know if my sentiment is well placed or not
I understand his dislike towards tweening. It's only done because studios wants to save money on the animation and make something faster. It's understandable when small content creators use it, but a disgrace when big studios like Warner Bros. or Disney uses it.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who dislikes 3D animation compared to 2D, characters have way more expression and feels so much more alive when they’re not models imo
Well in a way, it was mostly a references to those cartoons where Daffy is some kind of superhero character (Duck Dodgers) while Porky is a sidekick character.
This just looks like Don Cheadle has had enough of not being recognized despite being in most of the marvel movies and he’s starting his revenge on LeBron James and the Looney Toons franchise
This has to be the best review I've seen yet! Couple things that would've been a nice touch for me: (SPOILERS) I was expecting Daffy or Bugs to pull out the super juice again, but the Michael B Jordan joke was a good switch. Porky pig's rap would've been funnier if they briefly swapped his voice with Rick Ross or someone with a deep biggie voice to play off the Notorious P.I.G joke. And lastly I wish they played up the Bugs death scene a little more. It felt weird that he's on the floor dying, the entire Looney Tune cast is grieving, and Lebron and fam just leave them there like "Okay Bye! Good luck with that :) " Overall though it was just a fun watch
I'm not sure if Porky looking like E-40 during the rap was a joke about how KTT peeps trash his flow as sounding like Porky but they shoulda gotten him to do the rap
I'll be honest, I'm kinda relieved I'm not the only one who genuinely enjoyed Space Jam 2, despite its faults and flaws. I just found myself laughing at the movie cuz of its solid jokes and the Looney Tunes are the best part of the movie which is the reason I watch it in the first place. Plz don't hate me but I do like it even though it's not as equally good as the 1st movie 😅
I really enjoyed this film and found it really fun, I'm still rather confused some people find it really bad and messy, but is understandable, I think I just appreciate well executed Animated part
@@ToriCake95 Pepe was barely in the original Space Jam lol. And that meme reference (that's also like 3 seconds long so who gives af) was literally done as a reference to the original short since the animator for that part wasn't even aware of the meme. And bringing back the Monstars would be such a rehash that'd you'd probably complain about that too.
I enjoyed a little of the movie, however there were plain as day differences that made SJ1 better than SJ2. SJ1 was more about the tunes whereas SJ2 is more about Lebron being a bad dad and teammate. SJ1 jokes and references were more fluid whereas SJ2 was littered with memes and advertised as much of its catalogue i stead of focusing on a decent story. Similar to SJ1, i enjoyed the animated parts and characters WAY MORE than the humans in SJ2 which negates most of the movie focus.
One Piece did something very similar called "One Piece film: Stampede" where this movie featured in the background and main cast EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER (filler included), and we are talking about an anime with well over 1000 chapters and almost 1000 episodes, so its a lot of characters and it was pretty fun to see some unusual team ups and "Where's Waldo" background characters to point out.
Honestly this might be the future of these films if Ralph Breaks The Internet followed up by Scoob followed up by this is anything to go by, and maybe that’s fine, but I really hope every film doesn’t just become ‘We have characters, let’s do Endgame!’

while the same studios responsible for the movie unironically perpetuate those exact things. is it self-aware to """call out""" onseself just to still do those things anyway?
I watched this movie with my dad, who not only watched the first film as a teen, but also played basketball on a team. We both had a lot of fun with the film, and when we discussed the movie after we saw it, we came to the same conclusion you did: this is clearly just a marketing ploy, but it was hilarious and we had fun, so it literally doesn't matter.
I kind of wish they gave more focus into the fact that Bugs misses the other Tunes and is lonely. It could’ve been a meta commentary that the Looney Tunes haven’t done everything noteworthy in decades and Bugs was actively avoiding getting other WB characters like Superman so he and the Tunes could be loved again.
Would of been better if the story for bugs was that after the world lost interest on the Looney Tunes, the gang split up and go their separate ways, leaving bugs all alone in Looney Tune Town.
This is why I love Saberspark: He gives his honest opinion for what its worth. He knows the difference between good content and bad content, what works and what doesnt, and hes honest about it. At the same time he acknowledges that he is basing solely on his opinion. So he points out the plot holes of a movie he likes and the redeeming qualities of a movie/property he doesnt like. And that is why i hold his opinion in high standard. That being said, even he couldnt convince me to pay to see this movie. I am not interested in seeing this film in theaters or using my HBO Max trial to see this movie. Just from the premise of the original (which I LOVE btw) and the trailers for this movie, it is more skewered towards children. And is, for lack of a better word, dumb. But I havent seen the movie so I myself cannot say that the movie is dumb. I absolutely hate the type of culture that will just destroy a movie without even seeing it or do so for the wrong reasons (I'm lookin at you Ghostbusters 2016 and Godzilla Vs. Kong respectively). So I will wait until this movie is on Netflix DVD or I break and trial HBO Max before I blast this film.
You honestly have a fair point. A lot of people nowadays just seem to quickly judge a movie and/or just listen to the critics without actually even seeing it.
It's where he's wrong: there is no difference between good content and bad content, different people have different standards for what's good or bad, for example: I like the Lord of the Rings trilogy, but to me Spy Kids 3D will always be a better movie, with better music and more charming special effects, and I will not allow my opinion to be trampled upon. An option cannot be incorrect.
@@imacommentator that doesn’t count. Also, the movie isn’t even in space in the first place. It’s in a video game. You’d think Warner Bros would realize that tiny little detail
I'm not gonna lie, the tunes don't look bad in cg. It wasn't overly detailed by wasn't too simple neither. They didn't hit uncanny Valley territory; atleast for me they didn't. It shows that cg can be just as stylised as hand drawn; which also looks great.
"Too much jam, not enough space"? Saber, Saber. It's CYBER space. Eh? Eh? Actually the most clever thing about the film, from what I can tell without seeing it.
I'm so glad Saber liked it even though it's not perfect, I mean animated movie reviewers in TH-cam seem to ask for every single animated movie that's released to be just as good or even better than Spider-Verse, if they're not, they're DISASTERS, come on guys, this was a miracle to get, a sequel to such an old movie, and like Saber says, this movie is FUN, the people in the movie theater and me laughed so much and had a great time with all the cameos, some guys were so surprised and happy to see Rick and Morty, sometimes having fun is what matters.
@@eduardotorres6108 yes, I was I was about to say. At least Speedy even got screentime; Pepe got nothing thanks to people twisting the nature of his character into that of a rapist 🙄
A lot of his highlights seem to be what other reviewers hated about it(but they also seem to have gone over it with a finer-tooth comb, so that might be it).
I honestly love that Rick chose to use a line from the Great Gazoo becuase he knew he was in a kids movie and that WB owns HB now. It works on so many levels. He's a higher intelligent being that just showed up in a flying saucer. It was the perfect quip to go out on.
I enjoyed the film. It lacked the amazing music OG Space jam had but it was still good. Loved the fact that the Animaniacs made an appearance as well as The mask from the movie of the same name.
Question: Why doesn’t Tweety bird have definable feathers but everyone else has either definable hair, fur, or feathers? For the whole movie, I was trying to spot the Warner Siblings and Freakazoid like it was a “Where’s Waldo” page. I did find the Warner’s. Forgot to specify.
"better than Ralph Breaks the Internet" Kind of wish I could un-see that one, honestly. Probably one of the biggest disappointments for me, at least given the bar set by the first movie. Whatever level Space Jam 2 is at, it would have to be amazingly bad to fall in below Ralph 2 for me.
@@RacerC45 It has its moments, but I feel like the marketing and weird references really distract from the plot, and it comes across way more contrived and convoluted than the first movie, while also marking a significant reversal in Ralph's character development, so he can learn a lesson again. When the first movie did references to oldschool game characters, they fit in thematically and were cool to see, but the meat of the movie still hinges on original characters and game concepts. I think the baddies anonymous scene is memorable at least in part because that's a uniquely reference-heavy moment that still serves a distinct narrative purpose. In the sequel, it's like they wanted to amp up the references to take up 60% of the runtime and half of the plot. By expanding those references to the whole internet, they seemed a lot more scattershot, random, and distracting. But moreso, it's the fact that the movie never has room to breathe and be itself, and the references feel less like cool background cameos and fun facts and more like the foundation upon which the whole roller coaster is built. And I just don't think that holds up well. And any time you need to have a character make a bunch of "viral" videos for plot reasons and you actually show what those videos are, that's never **not** going to be cringe. It's made so much worse given how the driving force of the entire movie revolves around the main characters needing to make a ridiculous amount of money. So that idea of becoming a really bad TH-camr who copies every viral video ends up a central and pivotal action in service of the movie's conclusion. (well, debatable, anyway. I don't remember what actually ended up solving the conflict of needing a new steering wheel for the arcade cabinet)
We can all agree that the original Space Jam wasn’t perfect as we thought it was, yet it has a certain charm to it. In a weird way Space Jam 2 does catch the original in that way, yet it’s not better. Both of these movies prove that a movie might suck(subjectively), yet it is entertaining and enjoyable to some.
I enjoyed the film overall, but as someone who's learning game development myself, the plot device of a game glitch just deleting an entire character made me physically cringe.
Yeah, literally everything they did involving video games was just made up hokum. Luckily it was all background juliberish. You can tell the writers were just pulling stuff out there ass. I kinda wish they played off it more, but they said everything so seriously. I think I face palmed the first time when Labron's kid said "is it some kind of futuristic or a matrix engine?" It can, if you ham it up enough. It's kinda like what TH-camrs do. Hell, Saber does it all the time. Being a sellout sucks, but at least you know where the money comes from. There are people out there getting money in the worst possible ways, who cares if some guy spent a minute talking about a garbage product... look at it this way, in the 90's we had to lagitamitly wait 3-6mins to continue watching our shows. That's the length of a whole video. I get the idea that "ads can't rule us" but how would you suggest they make money? All the money they make from merchandizing, and movie tickets goes directly back to the advertiser's. The rest of the profit goes to the studio, which they use to start another production. Sure there are tycoons at the top dipping there fingers in, blame them, they're typically the reason we have to see so many ads. The more ads, the bigger the dip a tycoon takes. At least now we have ad placements that are funny. Tbh I think advertisers get the shaft by this new way of advertising, becuase it's basically putting us off the product most of the time. I don't think I have bought a single brand of anything this year. I've been buying generic everything. At the end of the day you still have the power to choose what you want to do. If you're weak minded, sure, I can see why you would be mad about ads, but if you have even the slightest bit of self control... ads are the last thing you should care about in this world.

I might be stretching a lot, but I feel like they portrayed Bugs Bunny a lot better than in the first Space Jam. Something about him seemed different in this film. Like when Lebron first came to Tune World, Bugs seemed overjoyed to have another toon to do gags with since all the other toons left to other worlds not wanting to be who they were. Bugs seemed to have been alone for some time, and his mission was to bring back his family (which he did in the end but not without sacrificing himself).

Good luck with that :) "
Overall though it was just a fun watch

Because Space Jam 1 had the spark that the sequel didn't. Meme references. No Pepe LePew. No Monstars. It was booooooring.

"better than Ralph Breaks the Internet"
Kind of wish I could un-see that one, honestly. Probably one of the biggest disappointments for me, at least given the bar set by the first movie. Whatever level Space Jam 2 is at, it would have to be amazingly bad to fall in below Ralph 2 for me.
It honestly is worse than Ralph Breaks the Internet
Hey! I love Ralph Breaks the Internet. Especially the part with the Disney Princesses.

It can, if you ham it up enough.

The Micheal B. Jordan joke just made me mad. For us, the audience, and him.
It made me laugh lol
@@Prettyordying I thought it was funny too but yea I get peoples disappointment
Not that deep
That was the worst, it could've redeemed the movie, but it just felt insulting to the audience, getting their hopes high and then punished for being gullible
@@arturogonzalez-barrios8206 bruh it was a gag.... it's not that deep.
I’m so glad that there is a reviewer who actually enjoyed this sequel
It's youtube, ppl would say anything, if it's either a lie or not.
@@spideyguy3315 I’m guessing you can’t handle people opinions
@@henrym4484 But sometimes those opinions can be lies tho
Is it me, or were the Monstar cameos just reused frames from the first Space Jam?
No, you are right it was reused.
I actually thought they were animated again, but it feels kinda sad
@@CalzoneStudiozOfficial Well I mean you gotta save money some how
They reused the same animation, also they stole the iron giant animation from ready player 1 too
yes they were, seeing saber being positive for this movie kinda make me gag
Tbh this isn’t as bad as people think. Even though there are ten thousand references, its fun and weird. Like good weird

I personally really disliked it lol but people are entitled to their opinions
Haven’t seen it so I can’t really talk. But I just dislike the whole “lebrons a cartoon” aspect of it. Idk how long it lasts. But the original was local action with realistic cartoons. This was just cheap 2D cartoon. Though I know it gets way more realistic 3D but the original never just put Michael Jordan as a 2D character
It was meh. LeBron can't act and Lola became an annoying side character. At least in the original she was a strong competitor.
I kind of am disappointed that you didn't talk about the chungus meme that show up in the movie.
Not going to lie that made me laugh. 😂
Me watching space jam first time: OMG CROSSOVER!
Me watching ready player one: Oh sweet they put iron giant in it.
Me after seeing space jam new legacy: *ISN'T THIS READY PLAYER ONE THE SEQUEL BUT WITH BUGS*
Plot of iron giant: I am not a weapon
Iron giant in ready player one: laser eyes…
"Morty, we are in Space Jam 2, we're Space Jam Rick and Morty!"
Oh fucking hell…
Aw jeez Rick, aren't people gonna think we just give the warner bros views?
I just love how meta this movies gets
This movie is perfect with no flaws because of big chungus, that’s my review but saver sparks was good too.
Could’ve been an 11/10 if Lola’s bunny titties where bigger.

Tbh this feels like the first honest review of this movie. Everyone else is dunking on this movie to dunk on it. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I actually enjoyed watching this with my kids.
Bugs Bunny: “Warner Brothers,…ASSEMBLE!!!”
Also, this movie is like a giant candy. It may have no right ingredients nor a correct formula, but it’s still as entertaining and sweet I just can’t help take a bite out of it!
agree and for my PoV, this is the worst thing that WarnerBros treated Bugs Bunny 😠
This movie is a jawbreaker. The more you try to bite, the more it hurts. Better enjoy it at your own pacing and your own way.
@@miserirken agree, and it would been better that Bugs has nothing to do to LeBron Jame's problem the fact through out the film Bugs insults LeBron James like a take that so it will be entertain for the one who not a big fan of sports.
now it hit me..... THEY DIDN'T PUT ANIMANIACS CAMEOS! The nerve!
8:26 Oh yea, I set my expectations pretty low for everything except the comedy.
And I was not disappointed! Granny is easily the best part of this movie btw.
Granny is definitely the most badass character in Looney Tunes. So I agree.
The thing I love about this is movie Porky spitting bars
I’m disappointed we didn’t get any cameos from Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, and Rooster Teeth.
With the exception of Rick and Morty which this film is their theatrical debut.
Imagine a scene where Wiz and Boomstick run into Ben 10 and Hal Jordan.
Wait, isn't rick and morty adult swim?
Rick and Morty?
Um Rick and Morty

That’s what makes it exciting. It going to be a mess but it going to be fun as hell, but mostly a mess.
its the same Iron Giant animation from ready player one

I just like to have fun when watching a movie, not every movie has to be an Oscar winner.
I absolutely loved the movie: I even loved how the Looney Tunes squad still remembered the events from the first movie. Even the original Monstars make cameos in several shots in the movie! Man, it was really great.
Edit: I also really loved the 2D animation portions of the film, it was so good. And in my opinion, I think the 3D animation of the Tune Squad trying to be realistic was good, and I did enjoy it.
Same, I enjoyed the movie
The Rick and Morty part was definitely a surprise
For me it wasn't cause EVERY PERSON POSTED ABOUT IT
So was Austin Powers

@@XboxPlayer-hw9zk And agreed
"They turned Lebron James into a cartoon! Funniest thing I've ever seen!"
the looney tunes didn't live in a golf course, it was merely a portal to they dimension
It was such a missed opportunity to call Lebron’s GoT “Lebron of Thrones” instead of “James of Thrones.”
How you describe Space Jam is how I feel about the Sonic movie and Venom; its a dumb movie, and its not supposed to be good but its FUN and can make me laugh and sometimes that's all that matters.
you know, Kim Jong Un watch space jam when he was a kid, and that’s why the Chicago bulls are his favorite basketball team.

I cringed throughout this entire movie. My family laughed through it. I died inside and lost brain cells through it.
Did you enjoy the rick and Morty cameo? 😂😂
Like the first?
Atleast they enjoyed it
@@johnbacon4997 I did enjoy the cameo. The cameos in general were fine!
@@invaderpez12 The first is fine, a fun movie to watch and rag on with friends. Compared to the second one, the first one can be considered one of the greatest movies of all time.
I mean he even considered Lebron as family since he was the first toon he played with in a while. Heck Bugs seems to have more heart in this film than he usually does. I just wished they went a little more deep into Bugs' story. But again, I could be stretching so much for a Looney Tunes movie 😂
