    I bought a 2018 RAV4 on 9-24-2018 and it's been in Toyota's service department for 13 of the 30 days I've had it. It has 860 miles on it. This model has the most annoying rolling (like a ball bearing rolling around) and then a vibrating sound when the rolling settles down coming from the glove compartment and Toyota can't seem to find it. I made a recording of these noises and played it for the service department and they said they have never heard anything like it before. After having it for more than 2 weeks, they gave it back to me and said "I guess it's just a flaw in this model." What kind of explanation is that to give to a customer? While it was in the shop the second week, they gave me a 2018 RAV4 rental to drive and it had the same rolling/vibrating noise!! I am going to trade it in for the Nissan Rogue, which I should have bought in the first place. Rogue has more features/equipment for the same money as the RAV4 and a great car. Had one before I bought this.

      You could research customer satisfaction for Toyota dealers/service departments in your area, and go to the one you determine is the best. Unfortunately, they are not created equal. Or find an independent mechanic to diagnose, NOT FIX the problem. You don't want to void the warranty; take it to a good Toyota service dept. and say that "a friend suggested this could be the problem". Of course, you could hire a lawyer to go after the original dealership if they won't make you happy, but I'd save that for last resort. Unless you plan to trade in your car every 2-3 years, stay away from Nissan.

    I lease 2017 RAV4 LE FWD. The pros- reliability. It starts and goes even when it was -50C up north Ontario (Canada). I already have 60k on it, and not even a single problem. The cons are: FWD is horrible on snow, if you get one of these, get AWD, that what the weight distribution on this car is designed for. LE model's seats are not comfortable for a long drive. And controls are not in an easy reachable spots. Just for fun, google the TCS button location.

    I purchased this RAV4 LIMITED TRIM full loaded Blizzard Pearl another cost along with the price only color for 399, first time going out of my Honda trend for 3 decades... have gone to Honda dealers checked out offers and style... didnt really liked the looks of the CRV though interior looks nice.. finding out has CVT so decided not to and it looked like a moms soccer van but overaling mpg is good! I've had my RAV4 as of October with incentive rebate discount price was 35,500 ... was dropped to 31k , at first it was a 2k incentive pay in full, I hesitated (played) didn't want one yet so Rep dropped another 1k... again I told him I'll wait next years model... he went to the manager of another offer 1K off and a free car starter and talked me out of next year model 2019! Well I got baited to buy it... well It was due for me as a deserved gift for a new one! It is sharp looking what lead to my vision! But I put in another 10yr warranty Advantage Tech 1k for incase electronically disfunction.. who knows what can happened, it would cost more w/o it! My fiancee offered to have it rust free bottom sprayed, 3m clear tape for the hood and interior water repellent another 900 bucks out of her pocket. still looks nice until 2 weeks ago checked out the 2019 test drove the Adventure and it was nice as well has the masculine rugged looks to it, I liked the interior material better seems sturdier and thicker .. seats has air cooled and heat too, I like the idea that has the capability of tow up to 3,500 lbs w/c this I have only 1,500 :( a little garden trailer is already around 500 lb, I asked the value for the trade in .. no so much now which is 25k dollars and only has 4,500 miles on it! Then one I want would cost another 14K including tax, registration fee etc.... a little on a high end to pay differences and how much my new car got depreciated quickly! I still love my 2018 tho.

I should of actually waited but with the incentive rebate offer can't get any better I guess especially full loaded .. just w/o the heated steering wheel which Platinum Trim has that for another 800 bucks.. lol.. like who cares I don't need to heat my burger on the steering wheel... you could actually direct your heating vents to the steering wheel to heats it up..lol ! anyway, yeah I can still keep this one.. then purchased the 2019 used one later! :)

    The 2018 RAV4 looks so much better than the 2019 RAV4. Hope Toyota will go back to this look in 2020.

    #1 complaint : the side mirrors are enormous. Ridiculous design. Oh it does not beep while you are backing up and the objects behind you are stationary.

    • @Star-vg7ix
      @Star-vg7ix 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also you have to lift open the trunk..no help there

    • @TestofTime
      @TestofTime  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hhhmmm mirrors didn't bother me. I think the beeping when backing up occurs when you have sensors on the bumper.

      Richard Molina not too low, most cars are lower but yeah they could have tucked it into the bumper I suppose

    I purchased my RAV4 about 2 weeks ago. I am really disappointed that it does not have a digital
    speedometer. Very hard to read what speed you are going. I now wish I had not purchased this car..I had test driven a Honda and really liked the digital speedometer. I have to take my eyes off the road to try to read the speedometer that came with this car.

      NANCY CARTER I almost bought a Honda CR-V. Go google Honda’s and problem with the gas mixing into the oil and causing engine problems. There are multiple lawsuits against Honda over it. Their fix was to have people change their oil EVERY 500 miles. Toyota’s may not have all the bells and whistles but they are reliable for years and years. You bought the better car.
