      Jeff, The choice is obvious, the 2019 RAV4 Hybrid with more power and 10mpg extra at a minimal premium in price is the clear winner - OOPS - you won't be selling them until next Spring. ;)

      I traded a 13 for the 19 adventure model. To me the back seat seems smaller and I'm the same size as you. My only complaints are the cupholders are where my elbow rests so a water bottle will get in the way. Also the power window buttons are mid forearm on the door making it awkward for rolling down the window quickly

    My 2018 RAV-4 XLE is paid-off and has 18K miles. It was also about $1K - $2K less than the 2019. Sure, the 2019 has some more advanced features, but I'll take the 2018!

    Still to my eyes the 2018 looks much more cohesive, more calm and overall classier the way a toyota should be. The 2019 is like its pressed from the top and bulged from four sides. Also ground clearance is said to be improved but from what I see here its the otherwise.

    2019- More safety features, more auto-pilot, back seat reclines, more gas mileage (41 mpg in hybrid), more higher clearance. I also like the raised screen- I don't have to look down to look at map or whatever when driving. Lastly, 2019 looks better!

    The RAV4 was always a great car, and a super-smart choice. For me, the old styling was lacking both inside and out, and the new 2019 knocked it out of the park. Now, I really want one -the Hybrid version!

    I just bought a 2019 Limited to replace a 2017 Platinum and I love the 2019. The layout and feel of the 2019 is just better all around. The seats are wider and more comfortable and can be heated or cooled. I love the layout of the console, the shifter has a better feel to it and the automatic parking brake is a plus. Cruise control has been shifted to the steering wheel and the push button start has been moved farther away from the heating/cooling off button which I find safer. I usually trade every 2 years but I may keep this one a while longer.

    What a great way to get prospects. I was a TO for about 5 years & then GSM at a Honda dealer, and needing some help was a great way to close some deals. Nice video buddy. So my 18 Adventure may get upgraded to a 19 Adventure. After the 3k rebate stops, it's killing my trade value! I was in a FJ for 11 1/2 years. The RAV's a great all-around car. IMHO just like my FJ made in Japan rules. Raleigh North Carolina is a long drive from Southwestern Colorado.
    A 19 in two tone Lunar Rock, w/BSM, no sun roof, no JBL, cold weather pkg. 🤔

    I wish I could blend the two. One thing I need is maximum cargo space, with that, I'm looking to remove the rear seat for increased cubic feet (bulky cargo for work). The 2018's split rear seat....including the bottom portion would allow me to remove the larger section and leave the smaller seat section intact for the occasional 2nd passenger.

    Like the 2018 overall a little more. Hate the new screen position, the huge knobs that stick out for the climate control, the shifter being more to the right, and the electronic parking brake. For the exterior, I don't like the front and rear being 'more square' - any little bump will ruin the grill / hood or trunk door.

    The 2019 RAV4 looks great with those double exhaust pipes. It's a welcome change for sure. The boxey front profile gives it a more masculine look. I love the bigger grille at the front; it's definitely more pronounced and looks aggressively stylish and sporty. Also, I love the new gear shifter as opposed to the 2018 shifter. The old shifter looks too flimsy and lacks that much needed rugged appearance that is now present. The raised Infotainment screen looks great as well as the whole dash layout. Very Mazda cx5/Cx9 like interior looking. Although not quite as elegant and upscale as the Mazda; however, it's a step in the right direction. If you ask me, I choose the 2019 RAV4 over last year's model.

    Rav4 2018, does so much better offroad, more reliable, 2019 has problems with gauge, transmission and brakes. 2018 Rav4 looks more youngish style.

    Denis N sorry. I couldn't think of the name for it. It is the lane stabilizer. The thing when you about to get over and you get beeps and the car basically pushes you back in the lane unless you persist.

    I went with the 2018 XLE RAV4 this time after I was informed that the dealerships would only be getting a certain number to sell of the 2019 models. Plus I was told flat out by the leasing manager that I wouldn’t be able to afford the 2019 (dream killer)! I’m very happy with the 2018 as it has the BSM, lane departure, the rear hatch button to close it and a sunroof among other cool features. I really wanted to see the 2019 in person, but my lease was up and I got a really great deal on the 2018. I still hope to test drive the 2019, but I’m happy with my decision 😀

    Happy New Year to you...I vote for the 2019...feels more upscale in the interior, the exterior styling is more aggressive, increased HP and better gas mileage... and of course, the reliability factor of Toyota automobiles....even though I drive a Cadillac XT5. One day I'll come into my senses.

    okay... I've gone to the Toyota Dealer today ! Since I've got my RAV4 Limited Nov1 .. decided check out the new on 2019 Adventure ... I wasn't really impressed of the looks of it.... seems a lot roomier/spacious thats for sure.. Interior leather I liked thicker durable w/c on mine was like thin leather trim seemed cheap or it can be easily can be scratched or tear! On this video.. I didn't realize the rear end body view between the 2 is 2018 much wider than 2019 but yet... when I opened up today the 2019 much wider in the cargo compartment?

    Great video comparison. I test drove one (2019) in my area the other day. I like the styling a little better and interior visibility seems better. Too much plastic material used in the interior IMO. Also, the engine seemed a little noisy accelerating from a stop. Overall, better than 2018 I believe BUT it is selling over sticker right now!

    Does the exhaust header pipe drop down below the chassis on the 2019 like it does on the 2018? That was one of the stupidest design decisions on the older models.

    I hope the 2020 Highlander won’t look similar to the 4Runner. In Hawaii there are tons of 4Runners. When you pull up to a traffic light it looks like a 4Runner (or Tacoma) car club are having a get together lol!
    Great vehicles but I’m not trying to look like everyone else.
    Also, I hope the new Highlander hybrid has a similar increase to its MPG as either the RAV4, Camry, or Avalon had.
    Great review btw. ‘19 definitely over ‘18. Merry Christmas and a happy new year!

    • @rightlanehog3151
      @rightlanehog3151 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The other hybrids you mentioned all use a 2.5 4 cylinder engine. If the next Highlander Hybrid uses a V6 again it will still burn a lot more gas.

    • @AE-ix2iz
      @AE-ix2iz 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Right Lane Hog ahh yes that’s true.
      Were there increases in MPG for the non hybrid versions of the 4 cylinder? I’m curious as to what was the cause of the increase. Better hybrid tech or better ICE tech? Or both?

    I love the 2018 ! But then again I bought one last year ! ;) I like the front grill on the 2018 much better and the doors are smooth not indented for looks like the 2019. The 2019 looks more boxy and more male looking.. do not like the wheels on the 2019 or the interior. I like 2018 display screen better then the way they displayed 2019 with it sticking up. The 2018 back end tail lights look so much better then the 2019 plus I like the details better. So glad I bought my 2018 Rav 4 last year 2018 ! Love the look so much better ! Love my car ! :)

    Clever choice of color for the comparison. If you didn't pick black, it's easier to see the huge plastic cladding on the back of 2019, looks cheap compared to body color painted panels on the 2018.
