My whole life I have had melasma along both sides of my face. Some people had even commented on “dirt on my face”. Finally at 60 I decided to use Curology for anti aging. They prescribed me the Tretinoin with Niacinamide and Tranexamic acid. After using it for about a year I no longer have the melasma. It is gone! I also use vitamin c. I can’t comment on the Tretinoin for wrinkles as I never really had any( genetics- my 94 yo mother has few) but it definitely worked for the melasma.

I have gone so far past “is it working?” For me, with my sensitive skin my only criteria for working is-is my face not burning, dry feeling, or peeling. I swear it seems like everything makes me burn, get dry crinkles or scales, or makes me peel. I’m not talking about Retinol or vitamin C. I don’t have any actives going. Cerave gives me white, cyst-like bumps on my chin. Vanicream moisturizer and even just Vaseline makes my cheeks get little tiny scales. I have spent so much money trying to find something that doesn’t burn and make me peel (even all mineral and other “sensitive skin” sunscreen). Using SPF religiously will give greater results than you think
This is a great video thank you! I had perioral dermatitis and tried to use prescription skin care (tretinoin/ hydroquinone etc) on it when it was in flamed- bad idea. I then did zero therapy for approx 3 weeks before introducing a brand specific for perioral dermatitis from Australia called Amperna. Literally a light serum, moisturiser and sunscreen. It’s taken time and Dr Drays videos but I can now use tretinoin daily with a simple skin care routine and have my best skin ever! Xx
Dr. Dray can you go over ocular rosacea, blepharitis, and dry eyes syndrome and how some chemicals on the face make these eyes conditions worse? Sulfur, AzA, metrogel, chemical exfoliants, differin, etc. Just a few examples. Tysm! ❤🤗
Consistency BUT ALSO using the few ingredients we know work. Consistency with tret and a good moisturizer (and SPF) has done wonders for my skin in a couple of weeks . I feel so much better

This video was perfectly timed. Thank you❤ Coincidentally, I looked at my all my opened serums (6!) yesterday and wondered when I first used them. They were way over the experation date😮, so all in the bin and starting a simpeler routine. Less expensive and probably better results.😊
I know many people that don't put a single product on their face and have perfect skin all day everyday not a single imperfection. Yet here I am trying all sorts to keep blemishes and the odd pimple out of sight, so much comes down to genetics but it is what it is.
Some times switching it up is not a bad thing.i stay minimal but will switch up sunscreen and moisterizer it's okay to do that.as long as we aren't grabbing a week changing it up.ive been an esthetician now 6 years and find some times coq10 and eucerin work both effectively but I will use a glycolic a.peel due to my issues once every 2 weeks.just for my Fitz 3 skin.only
Most products don't even give you an expiration date. They just tell you how long it's good for, as if you will remember the exact day you got it. I'm about to start writing the date with a permanent marker on them when I get them for that reason.
I do that! I write the date of purchase in the box (if it comes in one) and then write the day I start using it somewhere in the bottle. This also lets me see how long a product lasts so I know when I should purchase another one!
My father says that are a waste of money and time. Somehow it gets me and by that i mean it affects me mentally. I have a simple skincare routine i cleanse with a gel fragrance free cleanser then i moisturize and proceed with sunscreen. Most of the times i go commando and put sunscreen right away when i wake up. My moisturizer is simple no high end ingredients personally i don't go overboard my line in price is roughly 20$ for a moisturizer and mostly i choose a moisturizer both for face and body and the quantity is essential too 400 ml is the least. Now my moisturizer is 750 ml and lasts me quite a lot . Personally i see they work my skin feels soft and plump and i have no irritations going on. Idk what happens tomorrow but i love my skincare and have faith in it 😊. Have a great weekend Doctor Andrea with lots of fun ❤.
@@reneesoli5345 I know and that's why i don't pay attention to his comments about my skincare. Taking care of my skin is my responsibility and if he doesn't understand it's his problem 😊✌.
I have a consistent hyperpigmentation routine that's NOT working because I own a pool, so rashy, burning, over exposed sun drenched skin daily. Good problems to have I guess. 🌞 Additionally, people may linger with inadequate products because of price. Yea there are tons products but for most of us it's an investment. 💡
Hello Dr Dray . With your help I was able to get rid of all my acne . Thak you very much. Mostly I use tretinoin and my acne is gone within 2 months. However they always come back. I am not sure what to do for preventing it. If anyone with acne prone screen , please let me know what to do to prevent acne. Like I usually get white heads which will stay as it is till I use tretinoin, after which they become red and disappear over time.
I know when things are not appropriate for my rosacea-prone skin immediately, but if it's _working_ is much more nebulous; thank you for helping me set more realistic expectations. We live in an "instant" society, and I'm not immune even at 52. Oh, and those "god forsaken makeup wipes" KILL my skin, too! They BURN, even "Burt's Bees!"
I had wasted so much money on moisturisers , these “Non” comedogenic moisturisers always break me out !! 😢 and the one that suits my skin are way too expensive, so can’t afford em. Also my parent says that studying is more important than focusing on face , I don’t even get money to buy face wash / cleansers … I have to use soap even for my face 😢😢
I'm sorry 😢 I faced the same issue. Try using the simple Olay moisturizer. It's not very expensive. Also, try drinking 2 litres of water every day. I have been suffering with acne since the age of 13 and I'm 30 now and the only thing that works for me is drinking water and taking my vitamins D and C. Hope this helps. Drinking 2L of water everyday has tremendously helped my skin and I wished someone told me about this when I was younger. I have scars from acne that are beyond repair now. Anyway, all the best with your skincare journey ❤
Hi Dr. Dray, can you do a video on conditioners? It's not clear from research who should use them and for what. For example I have male pattern hair loss with very short, thin hair and it's unclear if it would be helpful or harmful to use conditioner
5:21 I did this once but it made me sooo discouraged. Now, I only take photos every month or when I feel like I need to put a picture in my skin log/journal. Keeping track is important. Sometimes I think a product is working for me and then I see a picture of my skin and realize that it looks the same as usual and that bums me out 😢
I've found that my skin care routine has worked. I have a photo from 2017 and now and I look younger now. And, I'm 64. My skin feels great! I use it every day even if I don't put makeup on. It took awhile but Vit A and sunscreen made the biggest difference to me. I do use Argereline which made a huge difference around my eyes. I don't have 11s or crows feet anymore and no botox. The only thing I'm unhappy with is my lip lines and I'm considering filler for them. Maybe not for a few years. CITY BEAUTY makes a cream for marionette lines that works though it's not permanent. Thank you for this video and have a good weekend!
I’ve been a sentimental fool for a petrolatum moisturizer I used in the 80s. The fragrance reminded me of the old days. Now, my mature skin can no longer handle it. 😔
Can you please shed some light on salicylate sensitivity please! I was diagnosed with cutaneous mastocytosis with a skin biopsy. I am in the hands of two specialists, a dermatologist, and also an allergist. I would really love some of your professional insight on products that I could be using that are low in salicylates. Thanks in advance Dr Dray!
Im shocked that im only doing skincare for 2 weeks and i can see a big difference already! I had big furrows of deep wrinkles on both cheeks. They are now barely visible!!
When jn my 20s, I tried a line of skin care, instead of using miscellanous cheap stuff (which worked "fine" for me at the time). 1 year later I have this amazing skin. However it is now very hyper reactive: I seem to blush for cold, for heat...for being uncomfortable with the idea I am going to blush for no reason... Ridiculous. So I stopped the experiment entirely and returned to a more dull resilient skin😂...but a more professional appearance. That line of products in Paris France (50 years later) is still commonly available in most high end department stores, in their cosmetic department. I just looked up the prices...and I am wondering who can really afford over $1000 a year for them!!! It is almost obscene.
The EU is fond of banning things. But retinol is just restricted OTC by percentage. And prescription is fine. Mo Skin Lab (Italy/toxicologist) has a short video on this and April Basi (cosmetic chemist) also has a short video.
How do concentrations in skincare work? Is using twice the amount of 5% benzoyl peroxide the same thing as using half the amount of 10% benzoyl peroxide, etc.?
"Products only work...when you use them" 😅 that was personal !!
My whole life I have had melasma along both sides of my face. Some people had even commented on “dirt on my face”. Finally at 60 I decided to use Curology for anti aging. 1.You dont need that many products if you know what you are doing.
2.Invest in lasers if you can, many times they will make your life easier, they are usually worth every penny
Excellent information, as always.
Thanks for watching
Happy Friday Dr. Dray!! As always your video had great content.
Happy Friday Dr. Dray!! L9ved this Video!! Have a Wonderful Day and Weekend!! Thank You Always!!❤

Hi Jackie! Happy Friday!! I hope you are doing well and that you had a nice day. I had another long day. We've been really busy lately. It rained most of the day and was in the 40's so a bit chilly. I'm ready for a cozy evening at home. And of course I would love it if my dear, sweet friend can join me for tea. It wouldn't be the same without you. I'm sure your kitties are ready for cuddles and so are mine. Let's prop our feet up and relax. I hope you have a lovely evening and have sweet dreams. Peace, joy and many blessings to you always. 💕🙏🙏💕🕊💕🐈☕🐈☕💕
Hi Mary!! I Hope Your Day was Amazing, I Know it was Busy, and i Bet Your Feet are So Sore!! I Had a Pretty Good Day, the Weather was Windy and Sunny, All in All it was Nice!! Tuesday I'm Suppose to have Some Heavy Storms, Which Could Bring Strong wind and Tornadoes!! Praying it Won't be as Bad as What They're Saying!! On a Much Happier Note, I'd Love to Join my Dear Sweet Sweet Friend in Tea, Kitty Cuddles, and Having a Blessed Evening Together!! You are Such a Joy, and I Love You Always!! God Bless You!!.... Sweet Dreams!!🙏🕊❤️🐈🐈🫖☕️☕️🍰❤️🙏
@jackiemarsh2470 Tornadoes in the forecast already! Seems so early. I will pray that your area doesn't have to deal with that. And that everyone is able to stay safe. Good night, sweet friend. 😴❤
Heck yeah. Good skincare works. I’m 66. My rosacea is gone. I never thought I’d see the day. Took me a full 7 months to see my skin clear up, repair sun damage, even skin tone. Now to address eye wrinkles…..😂
Could you perhaps share your secret recipe for this? 😁 Struggling with rosacea for years now 🙈
Yes please share this routine 😭
@@2002baykay hi. Read comment above. I typed it all out. Good luck.
@@turnbacktime65I don't see it.
@@monikab3413my dermatologist prescribed a cream/gel of 15% Azelaic Acid, 1% Ivermectin, and 1% Metronidazole. Cleared it right up.
Also was using Paula's Choice, the Calm line for redness. No more Rosacea!
I remember cerve oil cleanser use to be 5 bucks.its rising due to influencers.no offense but it's somewhat true.
Morning Dr. Dray: Could you review Cos de Baha brand? I find their retinol serum to be fabulous. And their prices are great! ❤️
This video was perfectly timed. Thank you❤ Coincidentally, I looked at my all my opened serums (6!) yesterday and wondered when I first used them. They were way over the experation date😮, so all in the bin and starting a simpeler routine. Less expensive and probably better results.😊
Happy Friday and Thank you for this video Dr Dray ! ❤
Bioderm sensitive Micellar Water is absolutely amazing!
Good morning Dr Dray ❤
Morning!
Wow ❤ your hair is looking soo good😊
I know many people that don't put a single product on their face and have perfect skin all day everyday not a single imperfection. Yet here I am trying all sorts to keep blemishes and the odd pimple out of sight, so much comes down to genetics but it is what it is.
Some times switching it up is not a bad thing.i stay minimal but will switch up sunscreen and moisterizer it's okay to do that.as long as we aren't grabbing a week changing it up.ive been an esthetician now 6 years and find some times coq10 and eucerin work both effectively but I will use a glycolic a.peel due to my issues once every 2 weeks.just for my Fitz 3 skin.only
My skin care routine is cheap and easy: cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen and tretnoin (from Mexico for much less $)😅
Happy Friday, Dr. Dray ❤
Happy Friday!! Hope You're Having a Beauiful Day!!🌷
You too!

Have a great weekend Doctor Andrea with lots of fun ❤.
definitely not a waste, but having realistic expectations is key
Dad is wrong this time.
@@reneesoli5345 I know and that's why i don't pay attention to his comments about my skincare. Taking care of my skin is my responsibility and if he doesn't understand it's his problem 😊✌.
Hey Dr. Dray, good video - thanks 😊
Thanks for watching
I can tell if the product works when I stop using it and my skin gets worse.
I have a consistent hyperpigmentation routine that's NOT working because I own a pool, so rashy, burning, over exposed sun drenched skin daily. Good problems to have I guess. 🌞
Additionally, people may linger with inadequate products because of price. Yea there are tons products but for most of us it's an investment. 💡
Happy weekend Dr Dray…see you tomorrow x🤩💙
I spent 65 yrs assuming that skin care couldn't possibly make any difference, then I tried it. 😂 Instant effects.🎉
Funny this video came out now. I asked myself exactly this question few days ago.
I'm sorry 😢
I faced the same issue.
@@ras8124 thanks for understanding and also for your valuable advice 😊
Excellent video 👍
I use garnier micellar water to cleanse my eyes since they are so sensitive. For the rest of the face, it is a cleansing foam or gel or oil
Hi Dr. Dray, can you do a video on conditioners? It's not clear from research who should use them and for what. For example I have male pattern hair loss with very short, thin hair and it's unclear if it would be helpful or harmful to use conditioner
omg i love skincare in jars
Dr Dray, Miss Andrea, I absolutely love you! 😊
How do i know: i wake up with glowy hydrated happy skin and most important no burning/irritation upon applying the products. 😝
5:21 I did this once but it made me sooo discouraged. Now, I only take photos every month or when I feel like I need to put a picture in my skin log/journal. Keeping track is important. Sometimes I think a product is working for me and then I see a picture of my skin and realize that it looks the same as usual and that bums me out 😢
I’d love a video like this, but for knowing whether a product is causing sensitivity and knowing when to stop trying with it….
What do you use for argereline?
@@Hemmyii the Ordinary
@@Hemmyii I also use The Omnilux red light.
@@latherandlace I love the omnilux mask!

Dear dr dray please make a video on excoriated acne scars on face.
I picked my acne so bad ,now I’m suffering from this skin issue
Happy Friday!
Morning!
Thank You!! Have a Great Day, and Happy Friday to You Too!!😊
Such an amazing and applicable video, love love love and im not just saying that cuz im biased as a superfan 🙏🌸🌸, besos desde puerto rico!
Tangent Dr Dray, facial moisturizer with glycerine squalene & urea. Is that a good combo? I know urea is good for body, but face?
Various forms of retinol works (plus ascorbic acid, it's but not equally important). Period.
Dr. Dray will you ever review The Outset skincare line? Thank you for your wonderful videos
If you want a derm review in the interim, dermangelo has reviewed it.
Great video❤
Happy Friday all
Same to you
Thank You!! Have a Great Day!🖐🌻
Im shocked that im only doing skincare for 2 weeks and i can see a big difference already!
Your hair looks great today Dr Dray!
Hi dr dray, can you do a video on Europe’s new regulations on retinol for the face and body?? I saw a friend post about this
The EU is fond of banning things. But retinol is just restricted OTC by percentage. And prescription is fine. Mo Skin Lab (Italy/toxicologist) has a short video on this and April Basi (cosmetic chemist) also has a short video.
Rosacea is a daily struggle for me
Well I think it works, my skin is not longer flaky and dry now that I’m consistently using Dermalogica and Osea
How do concentrations in skincare work? Is using twice the amount of 5% benzoyl peroxide the same thing as using half the amount of 10% benzoyl peroxide, etc.?
I am using Retinol (The Ordinary) for more than 2 months, neraly 3 months but i didn´t notice anything changes only my skin is afterwards more dry.
After how many days of using the ordinary 30 aha bha ...Can I use a 10% vitamin C serum
..?
As I research ingredients… my skincare is now working.
