You really should only touch your Axolotl if you absolutely need to. Like if you're moving them to a tub, or you're getting them out of a difficult situation in their tank. If you really want to know what they feel like make sure your hands are clean, with no soap or lotions on them. Be very gentle. They're not an animal you can just pet whenever you want to. Touching them once every so often will not hurt them
@@theregalreptile3953 ok! I was asking because I saw this girl who always pet her axolotl and it was fine. Could you gently pet it? Or could that still hurt it.
@@bubblesthefish I personally think you could gently tap or pet your axolotl. Just not often. There are probably people out there who pet their axolotls all the time and have no problems. The big deal is to make sure your hands are very clean. And remember they have a slime coat that you can accidentally wipe off if you're not careful. Just be careful and you should be fine!
