  • It's ok to be a little uneasy around your dinosaurs. What's important is working with them to get over that fear, and train them to behave. The better an animal is trained, the more confident you can be in handling them :)

Wow good job with him! You are brave too!
I'm curious if your dwarf isopods are still alive that you put in his tank in one of the other videos. Also do you remember the site you purchased them from?

I've gotten more confident with Kelvin now! Training REALLY made a difference!
Also- I have no idea if those Isopods are still alive.... I doubt it >.< I'm still SUPER NEW at bioactive.
I THINK I got them from Josh's frogs.

How old is he? Is part of his behavior due to puberty?

He's almost four years old, I think most of it is because he was very hungry. Training has made a world of difference!

How are you now with your tegu? My tegu is about 7 months old, we had a spooky encounter the other day, I was going to get him out but he wasn’t having it and not thinking about it I remembered I found a worm under his water bowl and so I dug that out and made him aware of it, well that triggered hunt mode and he leap out of his cage onto me, and I panicked, he landed on my chest and crawled up me and I thought he was gonna get my ear but he only ended up going up on my head and then he calmed down once he was up there, but it started a small fear chain I’m working on overcoming, I will need to teach a similar method of target training as well, also I just ordered a grow tent to do his big boy enclosure so we are both excited for that

I had great trust in my Tegu until this August- but after working with him and biting back my fear, I've become a lot more comfortable, but not at the level of trust I had earlier this year. I'm getting there.
Thankfully my Tegu isn't reacting out of aggression, just likes food.
Your experience would have scared me too!!!! You did good not throwing the lizard off you :) Try petting him while he's eating so he starts to understand your hand is not food.
