    I really want to show my appreciation for this team and their videos. I'm a pretty big arachnophobe, but this has cut my fear of, at least tarantulas, in half. Could I bring myself to hold one.... ehhhh... but the fear of being bitten is pretty minimal now

    As an arachnophobe, this took most of the fear of these specific spiders away. Of course, neither want to bite, but obviously under certain conditions the female WILL, and the male CAN, but considering the venom isn't that bad, it's really helped me realize they're not as bad as I thought.

      Jesus Christ wants a personal relationship with you through the Holy Spirit, not religion and blind faith. You see, we all have sinned, and have broken God’s law (The Ten Commandments). Wrong doing deserves justice and must be punished (just like how a criminal has to pay for the crime they have committed) but God saved us from the eternal punishment of our sins by sending His Son Jesus Christ, fullness of God in flesh, a perfect, sinless sacrifice to pay the penalty for our sins by dying on the cross and resurrecting, so that we may have everlasting life. It is all finished and now for you to accept the free gift of grace, you must repent of your sins and put your faith in Jesus Christ and Bible says that His Blood will cover all of your sins, you will be forgiven, saved from eternal punishment, and be given everlasting life. By faith you will receive the Holy Spirit, become born again, know Jesus personally and He will transform your heart and clean you from the inside out. Turn away from sin, read the Bible, pray for the Holy Spirit to fill you and change you, obey the Word. Much love and God bless you!

    I think its important to point out that neither of these spiders were "Aggressive" at any time. They were actively fleeing at all times possible, didnt even flick hairs defensively. Word choice is important here. Also, you have rubber tipoed tongs for a reason, tarantulas can and will break their fangs biting hard/metal objects(snake hook, tongs, table). That being said, you were 100% brave and otherwise treated the animals respectfully. clearly no harm came to the animals just like any other brave wilderness content, thanks for uploading!

      @lasmirandadennsiewillja9435 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +15

      I also want to add, "They're not aggressive, but this one..." is misleading. The animal had been stressed out of its mind for hours at that point (being caught at night and filmed during daylight, it was held captive in the tiny container for longer than a couple of minutes). I also doubt "it's coming for me" accurately described the situation. The spider wanted to get away. It didn't even throw any threat poses. As far as I know, tarantulas have surprisingly bad eyesight and are nocturnal hunters. It's probably fair to conclude that the conditions weren't excellent for the tarantula to get a good, clear view of the situation. It probably just had one thing in mind - get into the shadows, shadow = bushes/holes/caves = safety.
      And what was the darkest spot? His shadow and shirt. Just like desert camel spiders that don't hunt humans but run after them because they want to hide in their shadows.
      Finally, venom isn't a fun fighting weapon, it's a hunting tool. If we were out in the wilderness and depended on fish as our primary food source, we'd also think ten times before we used it against a potential threat. If the tool is gone, no or less food can be gathered, and a new tool needs to be created, using up energy that was supposed to be replenished by using that tool. It's no wonder venomous animals are hesitant to bite and use their venom.
      I know they need to dramatize videos like this to flatter the attention span of people who have strong prejudices against anything that isn't cuddly and designed by centuries of breeding to serve their human handlers, it's a compromise to get those people to take in some of the actual information. But still, I think angles, music, and sound effects already serve the drama purposes and it wouldn't hurt or offend anyone if phrases that put the animal's actions and reactions into the wrong context were avoided.

Suddenly I saw some movement out of the corner of my eye, and I turned my head to see an ENORMOUS garden spider, about an inch from my face! I don't even remember moving, but the next thing I knew, I was in the kitchen trying to tell my mom what happened, but she was on the phone, so just kept waving at me to go away! Thanks Mom!

      @DaxterL 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +25

      I still have some arachnophobia in me, but mostly instinctual reaction thanks to my sensitive ticklish skin. But throughout my journey of overcoming it, i've come to find out it makes perfect sense for animals to hold back when it comes to attacking. When you think about it, herbivores are much more likely to attack you as they tend to be more sturdy and have a tougher build, they are bigger, heavier and usually have blunt weapons like hooves or just their entire bodies, they are usually the ones who are backed into a corner.
      Now a predator like tarantuals, or cougars etc, they have so many weaknesses and have much more to lose. Typically stamina is an issue (unless you are a wolf pack), so exerting unneeded strength could be a waste, better save it when you'll need to hunt down some prey to get your needed calories. They can get hurt themselves, a chipped tooth, a broken bone is a near death sentence for a predator, losing a tooth is losing your tool of survival, the only one you have, a broken bone will take a lot of energy from your body to recover and a lot of time where the predator is vulnerable. Is the scuffle with the unknown creature before you worth it? A rival trying to encroach on your territory, a human just being around, another predator just walking by? Better just puff out your chest and show off your claws and teeth, make some noise to show you are not to be trifled with, and hope things won't escalate.
      And when it comes to venoms, those things are not infinite either, yet another resource to use when in need. Dry bites are a thing. In the end, they are wild animals and even with documented tendencies and typical behaviours, each animal, big or small, have their own personality and will act based on their condition, health and their temper. It's a fascinating even if sometimes terrifying world. But truly humbling to see how we all are not that different from each other.

      There are absolutely spiders that will bite without you squeezing them. The male on here bit the snake hook without it squeezing. A Johnnycashi also comes to mind since it's in the same genus as A Chalcodes, and they can be defensive little beasts. A Chalcodes just... doesn't. They're a great starter species for new keepers because they just don't care to hurt anyone. And they don't grow like weeds and need rehousing every few months like a certain orange psychopath who earned the title of Orange Bitey Thing for their entire species...

      Most of these sorts of shows are done specifically with compassion for the animals, wanting to teach people that they are harmless and we shouldn't hurt them because we're afraid. Not harming the animal is one of their primary goals during production, and most of them really aren't even that bad to be bitten by. It makes sense they'd have the presence of mind to take appropriate care with fragile critters when you consider the passion and love for the animals that goes into these productions

    I used to be arachnophobic, I watched educational videos like these to learn more about the behaviour of these creatures and now I also explore more information about tarantulas! Arizona Blonde tarantulas are great starter species if you get into a spider-keeping hobby and they make very interesting and non-problematic pets due to their docile nature! Spiders are important to keeping the rest of the insect population down and I don't mind them. I'm glad I could learn so much from shows like these about the importance of keeping and protecting those animals as they are so important to our ecosystems!
    Fun fact: spiders and tarantulas can "get moody" just like other pets, some times they are docile and other times they are aggressive and just wanna be left alone! As an introvert I get it lol

    I was a bit skeptical of how you handled this video in the beginning, but you really brought it together in the end to show how these giants truly are gental and just want to be left alone

    The fact that Mark and Coyote get stung and bit just to entertain is amazing

    My brother and I used to have several tarantulas as pets, including a Goliath Bird Eater. Despite appearances, they are so incredibly docile. We handled every one of them and never got bitten once, nor even experienced the threat of a bite. They truly are gentle giants
