I love that you topped off BEFORE the trip and did the ACTUAL calculations from there. Those computers are so wrong sometimes. With that said, I did a delete and straight pipe on my 2500 Cummins. No intake replacement yet. Average mpg is 17.3 at 20 miles. Trip is about 50 mph average and 5 stop signs. The highway here is 70mpg, but I can definitely tell it’s working hard on hills. Can’t wait to see what it’s like with the grid delete and intake elbow replacement.
I tried to make it is accurate as possible! I was surprised that the computer on the truck was actually pretty close to the numbers I got. I too now have the truck deleted with a muffler. Ran 5” down pipe back exhaust and love it. Truck is running great. Took a trip up to Tennessee and was getting 20-21 mpg in some areas running cruise control between 70-80 MPH.
@@thejourniganadventures7391 that’s amazing! 4” intake with a 5” exhaust theoretically actually makes a lot of sense because of breath-ability. Definitely gonna roll with your idea down the line. Exhaust sounds better with a 5” anyways.
@@Tyler-lq7fb it most certainly sounds great! I ran with the stainless steel pipe with the muffler to eliminate cab drone. Running on the freeway the cab noise is pretty quiet which is exactly what I wanted. When you lay into the pedal though, it roars haha. I didn’t go with a tip either, I ran the pipe straight and polished the stainless steel. Looks really good!
Great video series. I have a 22 HO Dually and installed the pedal monster, huge improvement in throttle response, no more dead spots, I was quite surprised. The one thing these trucks need is better downshifting parameters with the Aisin, there is a lag.
Thanks! Yeah the shifting can be a little concerning sometimes. I have had a few shifts that have scared me a little with how they felt but it so far seems to not have any issues. I most certainly have the pedal monster on my radar.
For those that do not know, the peddle monster takes the digital signal from the peddle and amplifies it. You have four category settings with 10 levels in each. Stock, city, sport, and track. Older vehicle there was a cable that went from the peddle to the throttle so response was instant. Ram dampens the signal, so the response sucks. I can tell you, I have not even touch track yet as sport is pretty darn responsive. Also, Banks Peddle Monster gets it power from the OBD port so if it dies, the peddle goes back to stock. No dead peddle. I have tried it, unplugged the OBD and kept driving. The rest on the market, you go into limp mode.
Thank you for the update. I just got my boost tubes back from the powder coater. They turned out great. Looking forward to finding the time to do the install on the Monster Ram Intake and boost tubes. Your videos have given me the confidence to do it myself. Thank you for sharing what you learned. I will let you know how it all turns out.
Seriously considering installing the same Banks mods on my 22' Ram. Thanks for the how-to videos and your honest opinion. Don't know if you've thought about installing the FASS, but that's also another upgrade I've considered. Would be nice to see a how-to on that.
I would highly recommend it! I have been thinking about several additional upgrades, FASS is one of those on the list. Glad you enjoy the videos! If you decide to make the plunge let me know your thoughts.
You don’t need a FASS lift pump, the lift pumps in this newer rams is plenty good, only older dodge rams cummins can really benefit from a aftermarket lift pump, FASS or air dog work great
I have 2019 3500 dually. I really want the Monster Bank. I use my truck to pull my 5th wheel RV. The problem I have is my abilities to do the work myself. I need to find a good mechanic.

The ram intake has a much thicker heater element that installs from the top. I also live in Texas, south east of SAT so not sure if it will ever be needed
As mentioned the Banks Monster Ram does come with a heating element that installs from the top. I would imagine in colder weather it would function just fine but living here in Houston we don’t have to many cold days lol I did install it on mine and if we get a cold snap I will try to give you some honest feedback!
The turbo whistle is significantly louder. I wish I would have done a comparison before and after but you can absolutely hear it more. Before the upgrades it was pretty quiet, couldn’t really hear any turbo spool in the start of the video you can kind of hear it as I am entering the freeway. With the boost tubes, cold air and monster ram it allows the turbo to really sing where you can hear it.
It did not. There have been many discussions in the comments on my install video. What makes the Monster Ram maintain factory warranty is that it does not change anything with the trucks ECM and it maintains all emissions. The only reason you would not be eligible for warranty would be if something happens and it is directly related to the install of the Monster Ram. It comes down to if the reason for the warranty need is directly related to the aftermarket hardware that is installed. This is my second Ram, I had a 2018 and it was completely stock. I never had any issues out of the truck. I now have the 21 and I did the banks upgrades and love it. Not a single problem whatsoever.
@The Journigan Adventures yes i am gonna have them do it. It seems a bit sketchy replacing Ram Monster .i might be able to do it, but it's better safe than sorry.
How is your truck doing? Any engine lights come on for anything yet? I had the Banks air box on my 2022 HO and got a CEL for low boost? Has anything like that happened to you? I put the stock air box back on with a new OEM air filter and it's fine. But I have the Banks in a box in my garage and I kinda want to put it back on, but I'm scared. And on a side note my dealership restricted my warranty for having the Banks Ram Air intake. I had my truck there to get the codes erased from the air box and they flagged my VIN. They said I Have to put the truck back to stock to get my warranty back. But I don't want to take the banks off and I don't want to pay their labor charges to do it. I'm on the verge of ordering the Banks boost tubes but I don't want any cel lights to come on for anything. Guess i'm gun shy. lol Just wondering if you've ran into any issues now that it's been a few months?
Hey Mick! No sir my truck is running great and I have put a few thousand miles on it now. So far, so good! Have you tried to contact banks support and explain the problem you are having to them? There tech people are really informative and might possibly have some answers for you. That is pretty crappy on the dealership to do that to you. It is probably because they “think” the code is directly related to the modified intake horn. Which as you already know, is not the case. Before you get the tubes I would figure out what is going on with the CAI first. Once you have that sorted and working seamlessly, get the boost tubes. I wish I had more answers for you man, but unfortunately and thankfully, my truck is going strong lol as I said, I would contact Banks and see if you can get some knowledge from them. They might be able to give you some honest answers. Keep me posted. I hope it all works out and you get everything squared away!
Hey there, I can only go off what I have read in the forums and from other TH-cam videos, but the connector to your turbo needs to be tightened to the point where you think it should be and then a bit tighter. There has been a few others with your issue and they resolved it by retightening the connections. But please take this with a grain of salt, as it is hear say.
Holding 75 on cruise control does make a big difference. The more docile your driving is the more MPG you will see. I bought these parts to try and get a little more mileage per gallon out of the truck and it did that. There is certainly a fair amount of hype on the parts in regards to the MPG increase. However the performance overall is undeniably better. During the test run I was driving on a new section of highway with posted speeds of 75 and had the cruise set at 80. Adjusting accordingly for passing lax traffic etc. As @coreymckeon1867 mentioned, it would pay itself back over time. That time would vary on your driving style and you may see a faster or slower return on investment if you are the type of person that makes decisions based on items bringing you great economic benefits you may or not be able to make this make sense for you. I have enjoyed the upgrades greatly and would definitely do it again. I love the way the truck drives.
I did the pedal monster with my 2022 ram 2500 with only 4k on it and my radio kept going black, I think it interferes with it.
