RAM 2500 Cummins Polishing Stainless Steel Exhaust

    Hey, thanks for putting this video together. I was experiencing the very same issues. I had power to the dash cluster and didn't think it could be the batteries because i wasn't getting that telltale "clicking" you would normally get with dead batteries. Appreciate the video! I actually remember watching some of your earlier videos when I was installing the whole Banks starter kit like you have, (CAI, boos pipes, and the Monster Ram Air,) and they helped me get the big picture I needed to get through the project. I did all that with about 500 miles on my new MY23 2500 Rebel, and have about 11.5k miles now. I've done just the one change at 5.5k miles and am trying to stretch the next one out to around 7k miles or so. With the Banks boost tubes and the Banks CAI, I as well, couldn't get that oil filter out below in the front pax wheel well, (boots for those beautiful boost tubes just took up too much room,) so I had to remove the Banks CAI. I noticed in your video how you just removed the air tube out of the way and didn't even disconnect the two sensors; great idea! That will save me a lot of time here the next time I change my oil. On the oil filters, I would recommend just got to Walmart and get a Mobil 1 Extended Performance 20k mile M1-403A filter for just a little over $11. Can't beat it for the price and availability. Even WM gets nearly $16 for the MO-285 filters that aren't as good as the Mann-Hummel filters from Mobil 1 that can go up to 20k miles. Also, heads up on the 15w-40 oil! Cummins says NOT to run the 15w-40 in the Ram 2019+ 6.7's as they switched to hydraulic lifters. Previous 6.7's love the 15w-40, but with these new lifters - beware; Ram won't warranty your motor if they see your oil records using 15w-40. They say to now use 10w-30 down to 0°F and then a 5w-40 if you live where it may get colder than that. In Central Texas, I like a 5w-40 in the Summer heat for better all around protection, IMO. Plus, a 40w oil will just protect better than a 30w oil. Any CK-4 oil in those two viscosities and you will be fine, but I prefer Valvoline since Cummins has endorsed them and they put their logo on their bottles. I have been finding it cheapest at Walmart online or Amazon delivered to your door, (WM's threshold for free shipping is just $35.) Thanks for taking the time to post all that you have, I for one have found them helpful!

      @@AirRyanTX hey man! Awesome, thanks for returning back and watching another video. Glad they were able to help you out! Yes I just removed the CAI pipe and it made for pretty easy access. Glad that tip will help you in the future! My next oil filter I will be getting something different, along with the oil. I am coming up due for another change soon. I did not know that about the oil, thanks for the tip! I will have to look into your recommendations for sure. I usually use the Mopar brand filters and will more than likely go back to that if the price is right. Docs has not been bad though. I feel like routine maintenance makes them a decent option. • @thejourniganadventures7391
      @thejourniganadventures7391 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@allansouza8949 the 22’s can be deleted but it’s a bit more of a process. They have to get an older ECM, remove your ECM, send them both in to get the older one flashed to your truck. The 22 year model has an ignition interrupter to turn the on cycle off after it is sitting for too long. That is what makes deleting the 22 and up models almost impossible.

    Would you opt for Crows foot & torque wrench or just open end wrench good and snug for the fuel line nuts ? For my year I see they’re 40 ft pounds from rail & 60 ft lbs for the main line to the rail. Uncharted territory for me.. sorry for the dumb question 🤣

    • @thejourniganadventures7391
      @thejourniganadventures7391 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not a dumb question at all! I bought a set of crows foot, they sucked and I took them back. Slipped off so bad when I was trying to torque the lines. I ended up using my open end wrench and going for good and snug. The ones I used the crows foot on at the back is where the fuel leak happened. Grabbed my wrench and snugged it up. As a good friend of mine said, don’t He Man the piss out of them lol, just get them snug and add about a 1/4-1/2 turn on them. (Based on how tight they already feel when you get them snug.) This was a super fun project!

      @@dylanfriedmann4319 glad the install Went well! on mine I snugged the little plugs down. I would say go back through and re-torque all of your bolts for the intake plate and then double check the boot clamp from the boost tube to the throttle body. Also, in my cold air install video I go over how the provided Allen key slipped for the monster ram bolts. I bought a kit of allen sockets to ensure I was able to torque down the bolt inside the monster ram to the right specs. Those things made a HUGE difference.
