Lord I remember listening to bobby bland as a child when my daddy got drunk he would play all his music loud as it can go..now he's rest in peace..straight memories jesus I miss my daddy..this song makes me cry every time I hear it because it's too deep...I love the way he makes that lion sounds..it's his signature! Rest in peace daddy 😇😪💔
Love Mr Bobby Blue Bland your voice beautiful , beautiful, beautiful,. I did get a chance to see him one time in Houston. Probably his last concert that he attended here in Houston at the blues fest. He had a standing ovation of course.. I sound like The Nutty Professor Hercules Hercules Hercules😁
Saw Bobby open for B.B. a couple times, and once in a small club on his own. No other performer in history could ever work an audience like Bobby. A friend had the perfect description of his voice: "butter and sand." The perfect blend of silky smoothness and rough, gritty blues. There will never be a "tribute" band trying to do Bobby's music, because no one else could ever capture that kind of soul with any credibility. The best ever.
Rodd, I had the pleasure of meeting your father in 1999 at Music Midtown here in Atlanta. A friend of mine grew up with Andre Benjamin, an Atlanta native, and Andre invited us backstage. Luckily, your father played the same day as OutKast and was there when we went backstage. I was embarrassed that at first I didn’t realize he was a performer, and stammered an apology. He very kindly said, “No need to apologize, son; I think it’s great...you’re my newest fan!” What a charming and unassuming gentleman he was. As so many others have commented, Bobby Blue Bland was a truly class act, with a character he brought to his music that has often gone missing today. Thank you, Rodd, for carrying on his tradition and making it your own.
Oh man, such a great loss. Today was sombre but I decided to remember and pull the memories from those years that I got to see 'The Man' in person, live shows through out the 60's. So incredible, the Joe Scott orchestra and Wayne Bennett's smooth guitar and Al 'TNT' Braggs lighting up the stage but it was Bobby Bland who was the 'show.' The greatest blues voice ever, bar none. I saw him in 2009 and 2010 and my 35 year old son got to see Bobby for the first time and he was floored. RIP Bobby.
Thanks to one of greatest singer's in the world nobody could do it like Bobby Blue Bland, he sang the blues as only he could. He will always be missed!! 'GOIN DOWN SLOW' RIP
Just listen to" THAT VOICE". Know the man hasta rest, but we miss him. Milton, BB etc yeah, we miss them . That's when soul music was REAL Thanks so much for keeping us with memories.
Love this. He and his band are dressed to the nines. Great singer, classy, will never go out of style. Is there anyone around today who can just stand alone on their talent? Very, very, few. Bless you Bobby

Love Bobby Blue Bland. He remind me of my father. They resemble each other. Every time I look at Bobby singing, I’m reminded of my Dad, who passed in 2008. I miss both of them. RIP Dad and Bobby Blue Bland.
This is the True definition of "grown folks music" Hes talkin bout taking care of a woman and being on her side, these days music has took a crazy turn where most artists Hate the woman. Old school players embraced the Responsibility and when they made mistakes they admitted it. R.I.P 2 a real OG! (the horn section is NOT playing around either)
You can hear the gospel ,blues and soul R&B in his style . He was the greatest blues romance lover who could resonate the pain, joy and mystic love of life. The orchestrations of horns are dramatic and the pause created the turbulent mixture of love, duplicity, infidelity and acquiescence. Alternating his unique voice and authenticity with the backdrop of the band. His performance evoked and overwhelmed listeners with raw emotions of intense love, passion , pain and seduction.WOW!
Absolutely. That’s what I try to tell my son.... but you said it better than me. Yes that’s the essence the old music helped people especially men to love women better. “Here’s what I’ll do... I’ll take care of you...”
Bobby Blue Bland was without a doubt the most gifted and extraordinary rhythm and blues artists that ever walked this planet...His unique and expressive voice was able to convey warm and sensitive soulful emotions like no one else...He was a first class talent...He was a perfectionist when it came to his recordings and his back up musicions...He had impeccable standards of quality music and he will be sorely missed but his great recordings will last forever as a memorial to his extraordinary talent .
Mike Vallen * To add a little something others may have forgotten, Mr.Bland, was a man with a pretty smile, with all his other special attributes, was simply an amazing artist .
