Met Billy Gibbons at the Union Station bar in Los Angeles. Told him I was a big fan and so were my drinking buddies. He walks to all my drinking pals..60-70 yr olds..proceeds to allow a picture and shakes everbodies hand. Cool as dude.

Jerry Lee Lewis is still hanging in there, but he is the only one from the Sun days of the 50's. John Prine was living on borrowed time for years before Covid took him out last year - I will miss hearing him live, as well as I miss SRV. I was 16 THE DAY THE MUSIC DIED. Legends of Rock n Roll. Sad that Rock-n-Roll is dying if not already dead. Been to three ZZ Top concerts in my life and they were the best concerts I ever attended. Least I have the memories of great times.

John Fogerty and Billy Gibbons-legendary. My 6 year old asked what the blues are. So I’m looking for good pieces to show him and I came across this. Man, this is good music. I’ve been listening to a lot of metal and country lately. I forgot how much I love these two.

I’m an absolute child of the 80’s and grew up wanting to desperately play guitar like Edward Van Halen. Both John Fogerty and Reverend Bill have taught me that you don’t have to play fast, you don’t have to max out the gain knob on your amp and you can create some of the most timeless rock music ever. Thank you both for being such great teachers and influences on me.

I agree so much with this, its not all about the scales and the modes and the patterns. I too wanted to be like Eddie van halen and randy Rhoads and the shredders of the 80s but for me my revelation came when I plugged my uncles les paul straight into a cranked Marshall, no effects no pedals. Emotional, powerful, and melodic playing will get you very far. No discredit to eddie or the greats of the 80s in any way though
