If you haven’t noticed, they have a LOT of powers. This is mostly because of something called “power creep” which is a problem with a fair amount of Shonen like dragon ball. Basically, if season 1’s bad guy could level a building, season 2’s needs to be able to level a city or else they aren’t a threat. Rinse and repeat until your villains and hero are blowing up planets.
Not exclusive to anime. Comics do it as well. Nearly every series that has growth has this. Even video games: BnS, Doom, even Halo (remember the latest said this new race is even more dangerous than the Flood). Power creep isn't a bad thing just that it's usually bad because most writing is bad.
To be fair we knew in episode 1 that the fox Naruto controlled could easily level mountains. And its not until the war, the last arc, where Naruto gets that kind of power
Bleach is vaguer however. I guess you could say most of what we knew is that there is a god in soul society and the series ends pretty much at the power level of that god
Plus power creep as a concept in stories is stupid. The term was invented for MMOs and how adding new equipment made the previous content obsolete. In a story that doesn't happen. Even if your MC is godly powerful you can still create a story where the previous villains are a problem.
Facts
Never finished Bleach so I can't speak on that, But Naruto not really. Following the story the power scaling is linear but goes up and down, cuz we'll go from Genin fights, to kage level fights, then back down to genin fights. This "power creep" mostly comes from the ending of Naruto which, I guess? Tho its still more skills then just straight power (like how rock Lee helped guy hit madara). Power creep is real but don't just label everything that lol
On the topic of Bleach, this also isn't the case. Ichigo's powers are heavily suggested in the first few episodes. It's also made very obvious that his powers are heavily hindered by something that is simply not explained early in the series.
Now... I disagree with the outcome of this episode. Vasto Lorde form's power is never properly conveyed. When Shiro takes over in the first Vasto Lorde moment, he toys with Ulquiora's strongest form with no signs of any competition. Ulquiora takes advantage of him being distracted to break the horn and change ichigo back, but this isn't the same as comparing to his power. When he uses his true bankai at the end, ichigo obtains all this power plus the boost from fullbring. We still don't get any kind of quantitative indications of how much power this is, though.
Fun fact: it’s *heavily* implied (the name in the credits is the character he played in Power Rangers) that they got Ichigo’s actual VA to do his voice for the battle.
And an even greater fun fact, for a recent thing these two watched, Ichigo’s VA is the same one as Nero from Devil May Cry, Johnny Yong Bosch

Fun Fact: Naruto and Ichigo are both named after food. Ichigo is strawberry and Naruto is Naruto fishcakes. Which Naruto loves eating in the anime too
Ichigo's name is also the number 15 which is his age at the start of the series and if i recall correctly Naruto's name also translates to "swirl" which is the design he always has on his cloths. (Correction)for Naruto the name also means maelstrom. The swirl like pattern i am thinking of is found in the type of food he is named after which is cured fish surimi.
Not to contradict, but Ichigo is 'named' _"Ichi"-"Go",_ to mean 1st defender.
That's explained pretty early on.

ye for sure cause screw attacked messed up the outcome since bleach feats far surprass anything in the narutoverse. I mean Ichigo is somewhat weaker than Bankai Kenpachi who can litteraly cut through dimensions. So the idea that anyone in the narutoverse could stand up to him is just silly

Characters from most Shonen Anime/Manga (Dragon Ball Z, Bleach, Naruto, One Piece) have so many forms and power-ups just because of how long running their series are for a single continuous plot. One Piece has been going for 25 years following the same character week to week the entire way.
Bleach is a perfect example of the main character needing to get more powerful because the people he's fighting are all insanely powerful, and in turn the other people he fights in the future need to be even more powerful to pose a threat. The main villain for the 2nd/3rd of Bleach had the ability to manipulate anyone's senses if they looked at his sword basically having complete control over what they experienced and eventually became an immortal being that could warp space and time.
Obviously the next main bad had to be EVEN more powerful, so they gave him the ability to see all possible futures at once and actively chose to shift time into one of those futures...as well as being immortal accept under very specific circumstances. On top of that at least SIX of his 30ish subordinates were basically godlike beings that also had varying forms of immortality with powers ranging from becoming immune to any type of damage, piercing through any form of defense, reverting damage back onto the one causing it, to literally creating anything that they could imagine with a single thought.
So needless to say, protagonists of these types of anime/manga need a LOT of boosts to help them stand up to the ridiculous monsters that continue to show up in their series.

You guys are so right, stepping into anime territory, these guys are overwhelming. Like, dante and bayonetta have a lot of power and such but naruto and ichigo; for example from anime, just show how much anime characters exploit writing xD

This is one of the times where I really actually just dislike the fight it's not that Naruto won. I can understand that it's just how badly they just didn't care about the research when it came to Ichigo.

I kinda hate one thing about this battle resources that made Naruto way too powerful than he should be. That moon calculation is overall correct, except for that unknown boost. Thanks to Kurama, his own Chakra is not normally increased, but pretty much once he became a friend with him, Naruto can use his Chakra as his own and not only by entering the beast mode or any visible mode changes. Naruto did send almost all his Chakra, but it's hard to tell how much Kurama shared his own Chakra there. Still, the only boost that we could count there is Naruto's + Unknown Kurama's - Enough to barely live. Naruto can live without Kurama's Chakra being all burned out, but not the opposite. That means Kurama couldn't send him all of his Chakra because that would kill him and make Naruto much weaker, including having his own Chakra back at normal levels, which is similar to most Ninjas and highly possible less than Kakashi. Even Kakashi suffered power and Chakra drop with losing Sharingan eye.
Both Naruto and Ichigo are the types that won't give up no matter what, but yet again in DB, their personality wasn't well nailed. Naruto even by learning how to properly control and use Chakra at his power limits, would burn all of it until he wouldn't be able to walk. Ichigo is kinda similar, because Reiatsu is continuously released from his body during a fight - that's basically a full protection that can only be broke by weapons/claws of hollows that have more currently Reiatsu (or spiritual pressure) than his own. However, Ichigo don't need Reiatsu to live - it only would make him temporally (or with Final Bankai Zangetsu form permanently) lose it. Also, his Reiatsu reserves by each tougher fight than previous ones was growing up by the time - and also by the trainings he took. By thinking of that, Ichigo's Reiatsu reserves compared to Naruto might be much greater (since he continuously release it, often increasing it to adjust to the enemy) than Naruto's and Kurama's Chakra combined. Ichigo also suffered problems with the control of his own power, but he's a much faster learner and not as dumb as Naruto in combat, but overall his arsenal of techniques is much smaller than Naruto's. And for the final - they messed up a lot of the forms that Ichigo could use. And I don't think that he would use his Final Getsuga Tenshou knowing that he would lose all power right after.
I love the fight matching in DB, but they make a lot of questionable things or calculations, ending with more questionable wins.
The Voice Actor of Ichigo for the dub (English) is the 2nd Black Power Ranger from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
To hell with all the power creep. Watch the pilot episode of each, Ichigo wins.
If you want to see more of Bleach in video games, there are a few fighting games where you could react to the supers. Bleach: Heat the Soul, Bleach: Shattered Blade, and Bleach: Dark Souls. There's also an action game on PS3, Bleach: Soul Resurreccion, which has supers to react to, and Bleach characters also show up in anime crossover games, like J Stars Victory Vs. and Jump Force.

A little fun fact, a lot of things from this death battle was poorly researched. Mainly because Bleach's power isn't direct and more you have to read into it more. At the end of the day both naruto and ichigo were nerfed in this fight due to lack of understanding, but bleach is done sloppy by death battle. Still an amazing battle though

Like the "like lightning" feat for ichigo for example doesn't make sense since after that fight they had people MUCH weaker than him dodge literal light based abilities not even 1 episode after the fight he reached bankai. also playing it off ichigo only staying at these speeds as he got stronger through the series

Just to explain the naruto fart againts kiba. Kiba mainly uses hand to hand combat (taijutsu) along with enhanced beast/dog techniques. By concentrating chakra on his nose, his sense of smell becomes hundreds of times more sensitive... which made the fart super deadly xD

You guys should check out some of the naruto movies, I won't say all unless you're legit interested in watching them but some of the ones I remember being on the better end of the spectrum are, blood prison, the last, road to ninja, will of fire and then most recent is of course the boruto movie. Not saying any of the other are bad, those are just the ones I remember more. Been enjoying your content you guys are very entertaining and fun to watch 👍

From what I heard, they later admitted that Ichigo lost because they couldn't figure out how strong he actually was and so they just gave it to Naruto. That's stupid because if they couldn't figure out how strong a combatant is then they shouldn't be doing the battle in the first place.
Death battle have their mess ups and their bias and this is definitely one of those videos at this point within the anime community or at least the big 3 community know that ichigo would win in a fight between Naruto, so that video they did not only is it very misinformed and not well researched with majority of other power scalers being able to debunk this fight, but is just flat out wrong. The big 3 community and the anime community knows how it goes, 1.) Ichigo 2.) Naruto 3.) Luffy
Nah. Naruto is simply more powerful by feats. Especially back when this death battle was made.

There is a lot of backstory and information with these two that they had to fit into a couple of minutes lol! This was a pretty controversial battle when it came out, this is one of those long standing debates, anything involving naruto, goku, luffy from one piece, and ichigo is gonna be controversial. As fan of both I kind of bounce back and forth with this one. They technically didn't get anything really wrong here, but in terms of ichigo I think certain feats and scaling can be kinda vague. Both faced an enemy that was so powerful it required the power of plot to defeat them and they both needed help. The final arc of bleach was also hindered with the manga author being sick and stressed by deadlines so there's some things that are a bit messy with it. I also don't think the comparison between chakra and reishi are completely accurate, there's another battle that I think they get wrong with this but I won't spoil it for you.

(I don't get why they kept mispelling Heracles...it pained me so greatly but at the very least they take a look at some of the proper variations of Heracles's 12 labors myth!)
My guess is maybe the "Hercules" name is the one people recognize more. And maybe that's why?

They downplayed a lot of ichigo’s feats because they usually are biased with naruto but it was still an enjoyable video

Just the destructive power isnt the same. Because in one Naruto Movie the moon got destroyed also means nothing cause they would also be able to do it in bleach but there was just no point. Also if you read bleach you would know that his speed his much greeatr than light at the end of the mangas and the reason Ywach was scared of Ichigo's bankai wasnt just for 10 times boost in his stats but because it had an hidden power
This is another one of Death Battle's mess-ups. Without getting too much into it, Naruto is close to planet level while Ichigo is at least solar system level and could defeat the entire Narutoverse alone. Not to mention, in a real fight, Ichigo's spiritual pressure (his power level) is so high that normal humans would die by standing around him. This is a phenomenon related to Shinigami powers and how they disrupt the flow of natural spirit energy in other people should they be around them for too long. This was not an issue for Ichigo for most of the series, but by the end, he is so powerful he could be considered a candidate for Soul King (basically God).
Naruto, meanwhile, struggled with someone who barely had the power to destroy the world. Ichigo's battle with Aizen halfway through the series threatened all of reality, and they ignore the time Ichigo literally destroyed a dimension by existing as well as the time he shook Hell by powering up (much like Goku). Their math is based on the assumption that Ichigo's initial base form was not that strong and that the ten times multiplier was actually 10x. In reality, the way Shinigami powers interacted with Quincy powers, Ichigo NEVER had most of his powers. It's a major plot point that he realizes his Shinigami powers were actually EXTREMELY WEAK throughout the series, relying on his Hollow powers to compensate. By the series end, he has unlocked ALL his powers and they do indeed stack. In layman's terms, the 10x power scale can only be attributed to Ichigo's weaker forms. Now, with all his potential, the 10x power multiplier is more like 1000x at least. Think of driving a Lamborghini or a Ferrari but also having the entire break pedal pressed down the whole time - suddenly going 60 mph is still serviceable knowing that you have every block put on you, but in reality, you could easily go 220 mph once you let go of the brakes!
Naruto on the other hand was actually fairly accurate. The fatal flaw here is assuming spiritual pressure in Bleach and chakra in Naruto mean the same thing when they are clearly not. You cannot run out of spiritual pressure or else you would die. Spiritual pressure literally reshapes reality as everything is composed of it - even inanimate objects - whereas chakra is life energy. They also ignore Ichigo's fullbring powers which grant him just that ability - the power to reshape reality similar to a weaker Doctor Strange. Honestly, I don't know how they cleared this video when they ignored a MAJOR part of his arsenal. That's like doing the Death Battle between Luke Skywalker and Harry Potter and then saying Harry wins because Luke forgot the Force.
Really, DB was just catering to the bigger audience in this one.
They are also biased so of course they would give the win to Naruto

Not sure if anyone mentioned it yet but the "naruto" run is really the anime run. It's how they save time and money on animation. They been doin it for decades before Naruto
Amaterasu is an ocular technique that Naruto's rival Sasuke uses. Saying that Amaterasu is so hot it burns other flames doesn't do it justice and is a wrong info. It is actually a unique special flame that cannot be extinguished and burns its target until not even the ashes remain, regardless of what it is, even other fires. Furthermore, it is initiated simply by focusing his vision on a specific concentrated spot for the target to catch the black Amaterasu fire. Kinda like focusing the sun's light through a magnifying glass on one spot for something to catch fire, except the eye is the magnifying glass in this case. This technique is deadly due to the fact that you need no motion and thus gives off no warning, because you can initiate the attack and make the target catch fire simply just by focusing your gaze on them. Combined with the fact that the fire cannot be extinguished and will continue burning until the target is disintegrated, it is one of the most powerful and dangerous techniques in the entire series. This technique puts a strain on the eye though, usually causing it to bleed and eventually leading to blindness from over-usage, until they find a way to permanently fix the problem through eyes transplant.
Although Amaterasu is powerful, it is not invincible. People can survive Amaterasu by simply cutting off whatever body part that caught the black fire, like the 3rd Raikage decisively amputating his left arm on the spot in the middle of battle which caught the black flames. Also due to this technique only being capable of hitting what the user sees and focuses his sight on, it can be blocked. An instance is what Naruto did in the video, he used his Chakra as a shield to block the fire and then proceeded to shed off that Chakra that caught fire.
It can also be easily speed blitzed/ dodged and dispersed via shockwaves

I avoid watching Death Battles that would hurt my heart regardless of who wins. This is one of them, but I think it's time. I'll never watch Aang vs Edward Elric though.
Edit: Ouch for Ichigo, but it's not surprising. I knew they would give it to Naruto the second they mentioned the moon thing.
It's pretty obvious who wins in aang vs Edward. One doesn't stand a chance against the other.
So far we haven’t had a death battle like that, where we want them both to win and don’t want to see either die. Batman vs Spider-Man was maybe the closest, but still wanted Spidey to win 🤗

The problem with this battle and death battle in general,is that the characters get new transformations,naruto got baryon mode and ichigo got the thousand blood war,even if I don't watch bleach,if we're talking about present naruto and ichigo this fight could go either way.

You guys should totally watch both shows. Both have amazingly good character building, and amazingly emotional moments. One of which in Naruto will ALWAYS stick with me.

Naruto holds a special place in the hearts of its audience I feel. Sure it's another anime full of cool fights and stuff, but at its core Naruto is about a kid who was bullied and ostracised by his peers but overcomes it to earn their respect and admiration. Now he's even got a family of his own. A lot of us can relate to being bullied as kids, but we try to come out of it okay like he did. Seeing that downtrodden kid come so far in this show gives hope for us as people.

Got to make this short but A LOT of assumptions had to be made for both characters. Also both series are on going so not really a good idea to match the two. Bleach kinda continues with Burn the Witch and other sources. Naruto continues with his son. Where both characters exist in those stories. You have to assume that Ichigo is basically just invisible and behaves like any normal object... not true since he can grow and regenerate out of no where. And you can see the faults of thinking a ghost behave like a human, physically. Naruto is probably more inconsistent. Scaling for both is all over the place. Where saying Ichigo is lightning speed is definitively flawed. This is due to low powered people in his verse dodging light. And Naruto only dodge light in a very late into the series. But that didn't mean Naruto is slower... in short they fight. They don't get a stopwatch and get properly measured.
Had they both been running the same amount of time when this came out? Because if both get more powerful as the series goes on, it would seem whoever has the longer running series would be more powerful 🤔

As they briefly discussed they were insanely popular for their time and there were miles ahead of everything else. It's also unlikely something like that will yet again occur due to saturation and cultural shifts. While you can google when they released it doesn't mean this is when it aired in the US. A good example is Naruto. I remember watching it way before it aired in the US and it got popular years after launch. Then there was a steep decline in Naruto due to tons of fillers (40% of classic Naruto was entirely filler). I believe it was 2004 or 2005 it felt like it was the high point of popularity in the US for the big three. Doesn't mean world wide but at least in California that's when I noticed the greater public put on merchandise of many series.

Ichigo definitely should have won. In the manga Ichigo is way stronger than anybody in the Naruto verse but this vid is old so maybe they’ll make another one to correct this one. I hope Natsu vs Ace is coming soon🙌

You can predict the result of every episode of Death Battle based purely off popularity. This series is made purely for entertainment, and I respect that, but you shouldn't take what they say as gospel. When it comes down to it, it's a popularity contest that they try to legitimize by explaining there abilities in a way that completely favors the more popular character. Which is what I don't like.
