Its not stated very often but visually it is clear that Krillin is a kind of Monk, and he reguarly shaved and waxed his head to be so shiny bald. After Cell He stopped doing so and grew his hair out.
It was stated outright in Goku and Krillin's first meeting in Dragonball and then stated again during the Buu Arc when Goku expressed surprise about Krillin even being able to grow hair.
Shaolin monk, if I am not mistaken. I mean, I don't know if the Shaolin order exists in DB, but Krillin looks like a Shaolin monk.

The gap in power is too big for anyone in the Naruto universe to compete with anyone from the Dragon Ball universe. Madara and Hashirama (Characters in Naruto) are considered god-like beings because using their full powers, they could damage mountains and create craters. You aren't even considered a threat in Dragon Ball unless you can erase an entire planet. Roshi destroyed the moon in Dragon Ball when Goku was a kid, Piccolo destroyed it again when Gohan was a kid, and Vegeta destroyed that bug planet with a ki blast in the Saiyan Saga. Unless you can threaten to destroy galaxies with your warmups, you can't beat a DB character.
OMG could you imagine if they started to react OG Dragon ball? Kid Goku, the heartwarming tales 🥺from the very beginning?! OG DB is so much like abridged too in some ways. I can just see their reactions now to some of the iconic moments 😂 I mean why not right? Everyone on youtube has been starting that trend lately and just because abridged is ending, doesn't mean their DB reactions have to. That would be so lit! ah too good to be true, i should stop hyping myself up. 😭🤣
@@NIKEONXX The original Dragon Ball dub is fine. Not perfect, but fine. Unless, you were referring to the Funimation Z Dub which yeah it's bad. For the Buu arc I definitely recommend the Kai Final Chapters version.

@BluePhoenix_1999 to be fair they get the winner right most of the time they do drop the ball sometimes like with Aizen vs. Madara Yang vs. Tifa Ichigo vs Naruto. And there were at least humble enough to admit that they got Link vs. Cloud wrong the first time

Dan Hibiki, Smokey Bear Vs. McGruff the Crime Dog, Wario Vs. King Dedede, Red Vs. Blue, Macho Man Vs. Kool-Aid Man, and Spongebob Vs. Superfriends Aquaman.
Chuck Norris vs segata, and Aquaman vs SpongeBob are the best of those suggestions for sure, so if they see your comment, know that I second that lol

I highly suggest He-Man vs Lion-O if you want more goofy style battles. The voice acting for it is topnotch

One of my favorites. I've watched it a few times just because of how entertaining it is, even compared to other deathbattles.
This is probably one of the most hype death battle videos ever, roshi and jiraiya are both sooooo cool and such interesting and just really amazing characters, but kinda don't get enough love and are kinda weird especially roshi, the turtle vs toad dynamic was also pretty cool.

It took 50 years to CREATE the Kamehameha... Grandpa Gohan learned it from Roshi in under 50 years... as did everyone else who learned it.
It's a lot easier to learn a technique than it is to create one.
Case and point: Every move Goku uses was taught to him by someone else... or an inherit ability he unlocked. Not ONE move he made up himself.

There are a number of times when Death Battle just cripples themselves by their basic assumption of a battle to the death. This is one of them. (I don't consider Kakashi vs. Obi-wan Kenobi among them, because there's a plausible explanation there: Kakashi was guarding the perimeter of the Leaf Village and quite reasonably fought with a clone while he personally alerted the village. Whether Kenobi fully realized this or not, he received no feedback through the Force suggesting killing his opponent would substantially affect the future.)
Roshi didn't need to use Lightning Surprise and ki is generally considered a higher form of chakra.
@@rhythmkhandelwal2940 Well just from evidence it seems like ki is utilized on a different magnitude. No one is casually blowing up the moon in Naruto using chaka, (but occasionally... sure.)

This fight literally only boils down to the fact that Dragonball power scaling is obscenely broken. Its utterly pointless to pit almost any character that's not borderline invincible against a DB character.

I got what you meant about Roshi commenting on the toad but to give a little context a summon in Naruto is pretty deserved most of the time since you need to use your own chakra to bring them and maintain them here or else it doesn’t work

The one I want to see is Master Roshi against Genkai from "YuYu Hakusho". She's ordinarily a very old woman, though when she uses certain of her powers, they cause her body to return to its youthful condition. It would be a fun battle. Although I don't really see them battling to the death; it's not really in either of their natures, and in fact I could see them getting along like a cranky old couple.
So maybe a One Minute Melee then? Those don't have to end in death.
Even on her prime she would be classified as a B- and at this rank she's a montain buster, Toguro who was a B+ so she would have no chance against Roshi. And i do like Yu Yu Hakusho A LOT,
@@euqinemor Genkai's ability to make use of other people's spirit energy is nothing to sneeze at though. But all in all, the power scales on DBZ and YYH don't line up at all. Yamcha probably has as much power as anyone on Yusuke's earth and most demons.
@@kingbeauregard Yamcha i would say is equal to the most powerful characters, they are all planet busters when they reach S- but that's it, Yamcha i wouldn't say that Yamcha is untouchable on Yu Yu hakusho's world but he might be the strongest guy to ever set foot there but not unbeatable.

They didn't even use Roshi's full arsenal for this fight.
His sleepy boy technique lets him hypnotize his opponents, his Lightning flash surprise generates streams of electricity powerful enough to take down someone like current Tien (which is saying something), and he's capable of casually generating gale force winds from his palm.

Even if Jiraiya could reliably turn Roshi into a toad, that doesn't mean Roshi would be helpless. Buu once transformed Vegito into a literal piece of candy, and he still flew around and kicked the shit out of him, even as a piece of candy.

I think it's because they're dancing with Ran and Shaw. The dragons taught them deeper truths of Firebending, which fits in with the theme they were going with for the opening speech.

I don't know further explanation on what the were doing with the dragons though, ATLA is my favorite show and I know very well. Not complaining to see those two here, just curious.

Master Roshi would beat any character in the Naruto-verse. Even Naruto - the strongest character in the Narutoverse at his peak - can't match casually blowing up the moon (the most he could do was blow a big hole in it). In fact, the version of him in Dragonball Super could solo the entire Naruto universe fighting him at once (he gets a ridiculous power up in Dragonball Super, just so he can hang. At one point, he beats the crap out of Tenshinhan, who's MILLIONS of times stronger than Roshi was in OG Dragonball at that point).
It's worth noting that, even at his relatively weak level in OG Dragonball, Roshi can catch machine gun bullets...but he doesn't HAVE to. He can totally tank bullets; we see him do it all the time (Lunch shoots him with a machine gun a lot). It grazes or bruises him, but it doesn't really hurt him. Meanwhile Jiraya lives in a universe where throwing knives are a realistic threat that have to be dodged.
Naruto is only the strongest character we've seen fight, but Shibai Ootsutsuki is undoubtedly the strongest character that we know of in the Naruto series.

Without watching this I would give it to Roshi. He blew up the Moon in early Dragon Ball. That's better than anyting Jiraiya has ever done. Roshi was able to hang with characters in Super during the tournament of power and almost any one of those people could probably solo the Naruto universe.

I don't really even like Dragon Ball Super all that much, but I do know the characters, especially the ones who battled in the tournament of power just are in a higher weight class than the Naruto universe. Like in the first Arc in the Battle of Gods, Super Saiyan God Goku and Beerus are shaking the universe with punches and a few arcs later right before the tournament of power, Gohan who hadn't been training for years trained for a few days at best with Piccolo and was keeping up with Kaioken Super Saiyan blue Goku. It's just nonsense.
But my point was if anybody that fought in the tournament of power was remotely on this level of Super Saiyan God Goku from Battle of Gods then they would probably wreck the Naruto universe.

Well, I can think of a few anime (like Pegasus Saint Seiya iirc or Sailor Moon) that could compete. Although DB has a habit of rapidly boosting a character's power every single arc. I'd say they haven't quite reached DC level, tho.
There are many other anime character who can beat db character but death battle never put them against db character. Also most people cant powerscale db bcuz of its inconsistency

Pegasus Seiya doesn’t stand a chance either against Dragon Ball high tiers at this point. Classic Saint Seiya has shitty feats for one.

I'd argue manga is more canon than anime, regardless of which one came first. Especially since DB started as manga and the DBS manga has now gone further in time than the actual anime did.

Super manga and anime are both canon but follow different paths, so because they use mostly anime here the manga is not canon this time

Roshi is physically stronger by far and trained with Korrin which help him see through Jiraiyas Gentutsu. DeathBattle doesn't always get it right sometimes they an the fans get blinded by favoritism an will miss things about characters. There are some battles that they got wrong but the fans defend them with...less than average logical sense.
They dont get most thing right, they dont even show all of the character abilities in the fight and in this one they even forgot to mention other abilities of master roshi
