I just love how Bethany talked about how she's choosing Vader for loyalty, and cause she's invested in star wars. And then Ken just went "Loyalty is for suckers" and chose Obito. Absolutely amazing.

The Regeneration makes the outcome obvious. And the insane amount of Ranged attacks Obito has that he can just spam till Vader dies
Vader has more range as he has almost every dark side abilities and he is much faster than obito in terms of combat his preconition would allow him to see all of obito attacks plus genjutsu wouldn't work because the force could get him out of it he can also implant the concept of infinity into obito he also can increase the hate in obito soul to make him reckless just watch the debunk cause it was very accurate

Realistically Obito would kill Vader long before he ever needed to use ten tails. The scaling in the Naruto verse is crazy not to mention the versatility. Okay. I’m throwing my hat in cause both were downplayed but Vader was a lot harder downplayed. The outcome isn’t obvious, it’s just that Star Wars is very stupid when it comes to deciding what is canon and what is not. After doing my own research the ranges are too astronomical as to what is the definitive answer.
Óbito has weird translation issues in both manga and anime and if we take the highest peak of what it says in the manga, Obito has stated he could erase the universe. We never see it in the manga and we are not even sure he can do it all at once or he could keep going until the universe is destroyed to reach his final goal.
Darth Vader, however, has retcons after retcons after rewrites after non canon to the point you can’t tell what he can do anymore and the guys behind the Star Wars canonicity staff need to sit down and sort the mess out.
There is quotes saying that “the force can match anyone who is faster than them in speed”, “destroying a planet is miniscule to the ways of the force”, in comics he can rip dimensions and become a time god, he scales to Luke who can move black holes, etc, etc. In other words, we can’t tell if Darth Vader is Star buster level or multiversal level threat and I’m too tired to care to do more research.

I think the reason Vader lost to Obi Wan twice was due to his overconfidence (ROTS) and his emotions toward Kenobi (Kenobi show). Their last duel on the Death Star Vader was the master of the two as said by him he had finally matured and mastered his abilities
Naruto has such good lore and characters that have amazing stories, glad you guys watched this! Recommend watching the death battle with Madara Uchiha as well! Side note, Obito had an alias where he used the name ‘Tobi’ (the pun they used at the end of the video)

I recall it boiling down to simple counters of their abilities. The difference is that Aizen fans dispute the ability of the truth seeking balls to destroy his spiritual composition in a way that results in a permanent death. Does Aizen just have some nonsense plot armour? How is he surviving spiritual annihilation? Then there’s the illusions where gaps in Aizen’s illusions could be exploited by Madara, while Aizen is vulnerable to Madara’s illusions with no special escape from them.

Gin's attack itself works exactly like the Truth Seeking Orbs which dissolves its Victim at a cellular Level......Hell Gin's Bankai further amplifies this by making i instant thus the Massive Hole on Aizen... YET AIZEN was able to OUTHEAL That Attack even b4 He achieved Butterfly form.
Hell the Reason why Aizen was given a Lengthy Life Sentence was because NO ONE is soul society not even Yamamoto whose Bankai is equavelent to the Sun or arguablely with a Supernova couldnt kill him.
Interms of Illusions: True Aizen willl not be able to break free of Infinite Tsyukomi or arguably Genjustsu but That wont even matter.
Reason being Aizen's Kyoka Suigetsu IS NOT IND CONTROL as Deathbattle CLAIMS but rather Manipulation of all YOUR SENSES as Aizen explained to Unohana, sure Unohana suspected his corpse was a fake but thats because hse was very familiar with bodies given her line of work EVEN then when Aizen showed his Corpse She was shocked only when he revealed it to be his Zanpakuto.
Mind you There two characters in Bleach whom had Resistance to Mind Control those being Byakuya and Yhwach YET both fell victim to Aizen's Kyoka Suigetsu more than Once. Also DB never mentioned this but at TYBW Aizen You only need to LOOK at Aizen to fall under his Kyoka Suigetsu the Anime fortunatey made this very clear when Yhwach himself stated his senses was affected by it.

This Death Battle was the most intense battle out there that focus on Dark Characters with Redemption at the end. As it’s hard to believe that the crew who done Obi Wan V Kakashi done this this battle for a a darker atmosphere of the battle. Also the music was so good to bring chills of Naruto mix Star Wars with a dark ora theme. So the next battle after this one is Jean Gray v Raven “Phoenix v Raven”/“Marvel v DC” as it’s like the battle of Scarlet Witch v Zanatana Death Battle. I hope you two check it out or other Death Battles our there. 😄

I noticed that he says “Find peace in the Next Life” before killing him with a sword that destroys Souls. Meaning Vader doesn’t get to go to the ‘next life’

for some reason the ending of this battle felt really somber and just...sad, maybe it was the writing with Obito essentially giving Vader the peace of the vision from the moon jutsu and the line of "I release you from your hell"- idk, i really enjoyed this battle.

Gonna be a little tough to do that after Obito disintegrated Vader with a soul-destroying sword. Not gonna lie, kinda a dick move.

The didn't mention or make use of the biggest weakness of Obito's phasing ability. He can't breath while he's doing it since your lungs can't hold oxygen when all physical matter passes through you, and he also can't pull himself or others into the other dimension while intangible. One of the strategies to defeat him that's used in the anime is to trap him in an area of sustained danger like a fireball, poisonous gas, or continuous explosion till he can't hold his breath anymore and turns tangible to breath thus suffering the damage of his environment.
He just has a limit of 5 minutes for Kamui. It’s not really about breathing just the limitation of that
If you can barrage him with nonstop attacks over 5 minutes that’s one way to beat him, but he’s still ridiculously durable and powerful
Even if it did work like that, Obito is just as fast as Vader and can certainly outmanuever something like that.

There's a reason he needed Izanagi to rewrite reality and place his body elsewhere to survive Konan doing literally exactly that, a sustained colossal explosion that lasted five minutes- Without giving up a Sharingan for good (specifically, the stolen one hidden behind his mask), Konan would've had him dead to rights.
But, of course, going into that limitation would've meant going into how Obito survived that exact problem, and Izanagi giving you one undo button that sacrifices half your moveset is REALLY hard to comprehend for the purposes of a Death Battle . . . and also would've meant potentially having to explain Izanami and its whole complicated bullshit.
The episode was overall pretty good, I definitely don't agree with the outcome and some of the research, but the fight was really good
I actually don't mind Obito winning but the reasoning was off especially the speed stuff, I mean at 6:10 I don't think Death Battle actually realizes how absurdly fast a picosecond is, speaking of which scaling Vader to Legends Luke is a big problem considering Luke can move a black hole and fought against a galaxy destroying space goddess (yes Star Wars Legends gets pretty ridiculous) yet Disney SW lore gets priority in terms of research I guess which just makes things even more confusing since Disney Vader and Legends Vader are two very different characters in terms of feats, power-levels and even characterisation to an extent, you can't just cherry pick what stuff you want from two different continuities and make a head-canon version of a character (E.g combining Injustice Superman with DCEU Superman) but that's just my take.
Overall an awesome fight but the research could've been better and more solid (personally even with Legends content, I don't think Vader should really get any scaling from Prime Luke imo).

This is a great Death Battle, it can honestly go either way in the winner, but I ain't here for a winner, I'm here for a good time and I got that in Spades with it's Awesome Animation by DevilArtemis (who you may know as the animator for TFS's HFIL series as well as animating for previous DBs like Gannon vs Dracula), amazing dialogue between the two("You are liberated from hell. Find peace in the next life" may be my favorite kill line of the season) and Beautiful music to go withthe battle

not exactly what happened. He was aware he was trapped by it judging from him looking around. He instead chose to remain inside while Obito took the opening to kill him. There are always people who will argue the inescapability of the Tsukuyomi’s power vs Vader’s ability to break out of any illusion. This approach sidesteps that debate.

Also, the Infinite Tsukuyomi should have little to no effect on someone that is not native to the planet "Naruto" takes place on, since they don't have that special chakra that makes ninja so powerful
@@ladychrya9379Infinite Tsukuyomi, like Itachi's own Tsukuyomi, is a sensory illusion; you don't necessarily need chakra to be susceptible to it, especially considering that Kaguya did a similar Infinite Tsukuyomi in the past, when humans were lacking in chakra.
Essentially, to escape it, you need to 1. be able to deny the input of your senses (this part Vader could do) 2. understand the nature of the Tsukuyomi (this is debatable; notably, Tenten figured out she was under an illusion but couldn't break out of it) 3. Be willing to leave behind the illusion, willing to give up the peaceful dream that you've been given (THIS is the part Vader would definitely struggle with. Given Padmé back, he might not fight very hard to escape.)

I agree with the outcome, though I think DB was being extremely generous to Vader. DB is overestimating Vader's speed because they're relying on blaster bolts in SW being lasers, but they aren't: they're plasma, just like the blade of a lightsaber. As such, blaster bolts travel MUCH slower than light speed. That's why we can see them fly from point A to point B with our very normal eyes.
Actually, Death Battle downplayed his speed hard cause there is a direct quote that states the force will match any speed higher to their own when needed. Vader was downplayed, but honestly Star Wars needs to get their stuff together so fans can actually understand what is canon and what is not. After hearing Vader was downplayed hard and I did my own research. I stopped mid research cause after I heard that Vader can rip dimensions and become a god, I got tired and decided who cares anymore. Óbito was also downplayed too, but his is more translation shenanigans rather than being involved with retcon territory
Not really generous considering multiple Jedi and Darth Vader himself have been stated to have near light speed reaction and the laser Vader deflected was directly stated to be moving at lightspeed by the droid using it.

Thing about Tsukuyomi (the illusion) it Alters the victims perception of time
Not spoiling who did this but someone used it on someone to let them live their entire lifetime in peace before killing them
What took only seconds in the real world was several decades to the victim
Obito could have done the same for Vader/Anakin before the finishing blow

2. And the person who did use it used it on -REDACTED- it was only 1 second in reality, and it was only 72 hours, not decades.

Infinite Tsukiyomi is entirely different than regular Tsukiyomi.
@@HonestOpinions4uThe light novels are direct cannon from Masashi Kishimoto. Obito has the Rinnegan, which in turn means he can summon the Gedo Maza statue. You could argue the statue should not have been filled to allow for him to turn it into the ten tails and then seal it, but it is not a third party, since these are things he is capable of doing with his abilities.
He therefore can cast the infinite Tsukuyomi, but did not awaken the Rinnesharingan first, which is a clear research/representation issue on their part.
Starwars cannon is a problem as well, as you have to chose between legends or Disney. Disney Vader does not even remotely stack up to Obito, even without the Ten tails. Legends is a good fight that I see Vader winning around 6/10 times.
The cannon material of Naruto's end villains are above anything Disney could throw at them, Legends powers are beyond anything Naruto could throw at them.

Obito gave him a good ilusion unlike what kakashi did, he is a manipulator for a reason.
Due to the fight having to be short, this was kinda ridiculous, but I also think that the difference between the two is pretty big, obito without the ten tails stands a good chance against Vader, but with it, he's way too powerful, even though he loses the one ability that makes him pretty much unkillable by Vader, he also gets really crazy regeneration. Plus even in the anime they don't use all of the abilities he has access to.

@@beaner5685 I just watched 3 different debunk videos after reading your reply... having been a fan of both of these universes since I was a kid, but also being a realist and realizing how stupid a lot of the Fandom stuff is... I stick by what I said.
Just as an example I think its really dumb that both of these characters are said to be faster than light because something moved at the speed of light and then they reacted to it... so I would have to assume that they reacted based on the feeling they got from their powers... which I'm sure you would grant to vader due to him feeling it through the force, but not to obito through sensing nature chakra and chakra in general... it's all very stupid. And I believe obito would kill vader without ever going to the tails jinchuriki, and he wouldn't be hurt.
I also never liked superman, and grew up with dragonball... but deathbattle was still right.

Obito without Ten Tails actually lacked the power necessary to match and harm Vader base on feats alone since he have no feats that exceeds Planetary without the ten tails which Vader already surpasses. He needed the ten tails to match him in power and the animation also showed exactly that where Vader was easily winning against base Obito and had to actually fight when Obito used the ten tails

When I initially saw this I thought he'd break out of the trance at the end like he did in the Vader comics where he was offered a path to peace with Padme in killing Palpatine while on a mission and showing the outcome and he breaks out without much effort by instantly understanding its a lie. Something similar also happened in those comics when he made his sith lightsaber crystal.
Only problem, everyone in the Naruto universe can break out of genjutsu but even then no one could break out of the infinite tsukuyomi so Vader wouldn't be able to break out
Facts; vader had dealt with mind altering visions by other wordly entities
Only Sage of Sixth Paths Rinnegan can block or cancel the effects. It is an absolute genjutsu that cannot be dispelled otherwise. They make it pretty clear in the series to state this, which they follow in Naruto very well. For example, jinchuriki's will die if their tailed beast are removed, which happened to both Gaara and Naruto. Gaara was revived by Chiyo sacrificing her life energy, Naruto was saved by the other half of the 9 tails being sealed within him before he could die. Kushina barely lived long enough to help Minato before dying, and Obito survived with Hashirama cells long enough to help, but was ultimately doomed.
For all the BS in Naruto, there are hard rules that cannot be overwritten. The only exceptions involve Hashirama cells and Rinnegans
Infinite Tsukuyomi is not normal mind tricks that could be resisted. That's kinda the whole reason it is a result of an over 100 year plan.
@@joelsasmadThis. Visions are not the same as genjutsu even though visually they look similar from a 3rd person/audience perspective.
Genjutsu actively manipulates all 5 senses by directly fucking with your nervous system - it isn't just a hallucination or an image being shown but your active perception of reality. And Obito, with basic Sharingan genjutsu (*not* Tsukuyomi) was able to do this to the 4th Mizukage Yagura who was a perfect jinchuuriki...the host of a tailed beast and one that had honed that connection deep enough where they work together. Which is important because having that connection with the tailed beast in you gives you that "second person" to knock you out of genjutsu, and it's one directly connected to them so they know when they are getting fucked with internally. This same Yagura (albeit in a short filler around Itachi) was able to stalemate Itachi and kill his first Akatsuki partner - the same Itachi who has the base Tsukuyomi naturally in his eyes.
Yet Obito managed to keep Yagura under this genjutsu for years, shifting his attitude and bloodlust and turning the Mist Village into the "Bloody Mist" and allowing Obito to essentially rule it through a puppet dictator. And Yagura was never broken out until a Mist ninja named Ao, who managed to get a Byakugan like how Kakashi got a Sharingan, came back with his new eye and was able to see how turbofucked Yagura's chakra network was, realized he was in a genjutsu, and forced him out of it...the shock of which put Yagura into a coma and causing him to eventually die. Again, just with his own basic Sharingan genjutsu.
Not the Tsukuyomi which essentially locks a person in an alternate reality through which the user manipulates not just physical/sensed reality but also time and space. Like how Itachi used it during the Uchiha massacre on his girlfriend to allow her to "live" an entire happy life with him, growing old and raising a family and dying peacefully...all in the span of real-world time of about 5 seconds. After which she also died peacefully like her Tsukuyomi self because she really lived that out in her mind. And that's not even getting into the Infinite Tsukuyomi which is similar but essentially amped not just in scope but power to match compared to the single target base Tsukuyomi.

the thing is as well, while jedi are trained to deal with illusions and mind screwing, most ninja in the world of naruto are as well, to different degrees of skill, even the most adept and skilled ninja at breaking out of mind hacks couldnt break out of infinite tsykoyomi, If you are a living human being and you arent VEEEEERRRY lucky with how you are able to hide from the moon, you will get trapped in it

Before the Phoenix Vs Raven fight, I would recommend Raven Vs Twilight as the former may in fact spoil the latter.
I wonder if someone revived with Edo Tensei could use The Force. Because there is an actual living sacrifice that plays host to the soul of whoever is revived. And Minato could still use Sage Chakra which is kind of Forcey. Just imagine Obito using Edo Tensei to bring back Obi-Wan, Mace Windu, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Dooku in immortal form to fight Vader.
Sage chakra is basically the same as the force.

The thing about the Force is that the only reason people can use the Force is because of midi-chlorians. Which are microscopic lifeforms that allow interaction with the Force.
Sage Chakra can theoretically be used by anyone without midi-chlorians, even dead people. So I don't know if bringing back a Jedi with Edo Tensei would allow the dead Jedi to use the Force if they don't have midi-chlorians. Or would the human sacrifice used in performing Edo Tensei act as a conduit for the Force or just give them access to Chakra instead of the Force.

The only way to beat Obito is to have the Rinnegan and/or Kamui.
They definitely forgot to mention and include several of Obito's most OP ocular abilities like Inazagi, Planetary Devastation, and Teleportation, but in all fairness it would probably take too long to list all of them. Vader is crazy strong, but Obito is easily among the strongest characters in any fictional universe. Vader didn't really stand much of a chance here.

@@djb9267 He's ridiculously power. I don't have a number value to assign to his power like DBZ, but the fact that Vader's lightsaber could even deflect the truth seeking orbs makes no sense. Lightsabers are made of plasma, the fourth state of matter. Obitos truth seeking orbs cannot not be stopped by matter in any form.

@@djb9267 I don't read star wars comics. I just watch the movies like most people. Jedi are fairly unimpressive in the movies. If they are as powerful as people say that they are in the books and comics then half of the things that cause Jedi trouble in the films simply shouldn't. Obi wan should have just force crushed Grevious' lungs, or Jengo Fett, and he shouldn't have to run from Droid Akas or sneak around storm troopers. But instead Jedi just swing around their swords like regular samurai most of the time. If their swords weren't shiny they would look far less interesting.

I didnot like how they ended, yes, Obito should win, but not with the illusion, there are plenty of comics where The Force itself tempts Vader into a worlds where everybody is alive and he is happy but Vader always rejects it, because he knows what he did and accepts it, killing Obiwan, Padme, and Anakin with his own hands again if it means get out of the illusion.
it’s a combination of temptation + power of the illusion + time it gave Obito that counts here. Vader’s fragility against the truth seeking balls means even a moment of weakness is an opportunity for a quick death.

If anything a Genjitsu with him being Anakin would have made him range harder and just like a force vision I think it would have snapped him out it anger
As powerful as Anakin is, he still hasn't gotten over Padme's death, hence the God Tree illusion easily working on him. Probably the saddest Death Battle so far. "Find peace in the next life" 😢

The final Genjutsu illusion from Obito was the entire goal for the villains, because it was one that nobody at any power level could break from.
Alright. I guess the bet continues. While I don’t agree with the outcome and this fight is very controversial as to who wins (just like Madara Vs Aizen), the fight itself is very good. In the end, Death Battle is entertainment and nothing more.

Obito is destroying Vader easy, I doubt Vader can even kill him with the regeneration and kamui, sword of nunumboko no diffs light saber.
The only scenario in which Vader would win against Obito is if he managed to crush the rinnegan before Obito became the jinchuriki of the ten tails. After that Vader would lack the firepower and skills necessary to kill Obito.

honestly despite the debate around this episode being physically painful, with both sides acting like children of the children knew every slur across every language invented by humans, i still love this episode and its my current favourite of the season

Yeah. It’s a good animated fight. It actually made me do research on both characters more than just the anime and the 9 movies. The problem I found with the research though is that I found way WAY too many retcons and rewrites for Darth Vader that he scales from planet buster to Multiverse level just because. I actually gave up mid research because I got really bored. With Obito it was a lot easier to track down, but still has translation mishaps with quotes like (paraphrasing) “I can destroy a universe if I have to to achieve my goal”. It is never shown him doing it nor do we know if he much he can input that much power at once or can continuously destroy everything until the universe is gone. So he could scale planet buster to universal as far as I have researched. This is why I commented so many times on the Stitch Vs Rocket fight that if they were going to do this fight, not to put money on it just because it would bring in negativity on a pretty positive community

I will say the only reason why kakashi didn’t win was because they didn’t use his final form, kakashi ends up getting both eyes for a short period of time and was more powerful than both Naruto and Sasuke combined and did most of the damage to the final villain, he was faster and stronger than obito and also had all of obitos abilities plus his own
I’m not just saying this out of favoritism or anything I’m a Naruto philosopher and my brother is a Star Wars philosopher and we’ve talked about both of these battles many times and who would win and both final form kakashi and final form obito are just busted and are almost impossible to beat unless you use the main characters from the show or someone from like dbz
I think they didn’t use Kakashi’s peak because it required ‘outside help’ by their conception of what that means. I’m not familiar enough with Naruto’s story to say if that was a fair call.

The difference between the two all came down to that last ultimate jutsu Obito used. It is not a normal mind trick or genjutsu. It is powerful enough to enslave the minds of entire worlds, not just a single person, erasing and rewriting memories, minds and perception of billions (or even trillions) of people all at once. But with every bit of that power focused on just Vader alone, he has never faced anything like it before.
Brother vader could have made obito go insane by implanting the concept of infinity into his mind but you probably didn't know that because they only explained 25% of vaders abilities and then gave obito abilities that he didn't do by himself and needed prep time
@@beaner5685 Vader is an overwanked mess who goes from "Dark wizard space knight" in the works most people are familiar with to "Dimesion ripping infinity god plus" in comics/novels/expanded universe stuff and I don't blame them for getting into all of that stupidity.

Vader will is stronger than that theres lore out there that has shown him a different life he could choose to be happy with family but he snapped out of it and chose the dark side they should have room that into consideration
You have to understand, Obi Wan does say those words, because it is true. However, I think Obi Wan knew that he couldn’t beat Vader at that point. I think that’s why he stopped fighting back. He knew he couldn’t beat Vader, but that his death would spur Luke on. At least that’s what I think.
