which one speaker you use to record original track? I'm not a music producer, so I'm not sure a studio monitor is a good choice for listening music in front of a computer? Which one speakers would you reccomend to listening music for home use?

Eris 5's beat KRK in the bass detail for some reason, that was dope, maybe its the advantage of more wattage on Eris, More wattage always gives better sound at most, and eq is flat enough in both. Both are great!!

They sound *very* similar, to the point that not looking at the video I couldn't tell when the switch happen.
On Long Drive I think the e5 had a little too much emphasis on a particular mid-frequency of the voice. The biggest difference I heard it on Man on Fire, the e5 were a little brighter and imo sounded better.

They sound 98% the same to my ears. In Canadian dollars the Eris E5 are $149 each, and the KRK Rokit 5 G4 are $239 each. That's a $90 difference per speaker. I'm going to buy a pair of E5's. I did not see what the extra $180 difference is in the KRK's.

Two great Speaker. Is it surprising that this two different Speaker Sounds so Close. KRK is a Digital DSP optimized Speaker and the another is complete Analog AB. Presonus have typical a bit to much round 70-250hz but in combination with 80 or 100hz pass filter and a Sub come this down to a extrem good combination. Both Speaker have enough mids and both have good highs. The Kevlar Tweeter from KRK Sounds different to another speaker, maybe not for all, for me personality more real as a adam tweeter but i like the highs from Presonus more. For me, without sub KRK, with both speaker nice to have, thx for test. greetings ;)

First of all, thanks for the amazing channel! Came here to check reviews on Edifier 1700BT, and here I am few weeks later after having watched tons of your amazing videos, making my choice for a desktop / music listening speakers. Completely forgot about the Edifier 1700, and here I am making up my mind between these two monitors. I am someone who can barely call him self audio enthusiast, and this will be my first entry in that field, may I say. So, any help would be appreciated by recommending one of these speakers primarily for music listening and gaming. Thanks in forward to anyone who replies.

i just wanted to point out here that the difference in bass is considerably bigger than you might think, i bought the presonus first, awesome mids and highs, but really lacking in the low end, with the krk's, which i own now, i can finally check my lows, and even subs below 43Hz, which they are rated at, and in my treated room, the bass goes to about 33Hz, after that you cant hear them anymore. (it goes down to 33Hz, but the volume drastically decreses at around 38) so if the price difference isnt too big in your country, buy the Krk's.

    bass is ok.
it really shine when listsning to band music. guitars, etc. analog warm and clear highs character. realy great on mixing vocal. or listening to music with focus on vocals.
its down side is the highs freq detail on eris can give too much details and feel overwhelming. it easily give my ears really bad ear fatigue after 20mins of listening.
unfortunately, also its hard to feel the vibe from electronic music with eris. compare to the Rokit i had.

I had the Eris and found something off in the timing between the lows and mids. Something not right , lack of focus in the lows to low mids. Bought the HS5 and they piss all over the eris, much more transparent, great mids, tight lows, timing is really sharp. But from my impressions, the KRk are the ones to get, very balanced and tight , an all around great budget monitor, especially for dance music, where lack of lows on hs5 makes headphones an essential companion. However the HS5 are great. A bad mix stands out on them, they are great for fixing problems in the mids, I guess that’s where they shine the most, I can see why they are such a standard for a secondary monitor. I just don’t rate the Eris, above anything else I’ve owned or heard , you can easily get better for the price.

Presonus E5 is closer to what the original track sounds like. KRK Rokit 5 feels like it wants you to hear the fly that farted in the studio on your mixer. That is how flat it is.

i have a question not related to this video. i have the R2000DB and R1850DB. is it normal that the 1850s sound much clearer then the R2000DB's? i have them side by side now on my desk and the 2000 sounds a bit muddy compared. I still think the 2000 are better overall, warmer and more bass. just not as crisp as the 1850db or do you think my R2000DB are faulty? sorry for the bad english btw

oh and to be on topic..do you think the rokit 5 g4 are a good upgrade from rokit 6 g2? i will mainly use for listening to vinyl and bit of dj-ing in medium room

Krokit has more expensive and balanced sound. Presonus sounds hyped and cheap on high frequencies.

The krk because the low frequencies are more detailed than the presonus, but the difference is too minimal, the price of the presonus is very cheap and you can make a great electronic music tracks in this monitors really is not a big probem.

Los krk tiene una mejor respuesta en bajos, pero es una pequeñez, aunque en Rock me gusta mas como suenan los presonus, los medios son mas detallados y los altos mas claros.
