      I disagree since 99% of the Teams program is fluff. What a bunch of useless, overly complicated garbage crammed into one stupid thing. Trying to consolidate all programs into one mega program might sound good, but it is stupid. Most people will only use one or two functions of this program that has a thousand functions. What a garbage program. If we want team voice chat and messaging, we use Discord. If we want video conferencing, we use Zoom. If we want shared calendars, we use Gmail. If we want file sharing, we use dropbox. But how many people use ALL of those five things I just mentioned? Probably very very few. and that is just five functions. Expand that to hundreds? Forget it.
      What a shame.

    Teams was installed at my workplace and everyone given access... but no Training ⛔📖. Of the 250 workers, 200+ are confused as hell, 20 are just confused, and 30 (administrators/dept head/managers) think this is the greatest thing in the world. Sometimes a "Great Stapler" makes a "Lousy Hammer." Common question at work, "my haven't you responded to my Teams message?" "I don't get on the computer but once a week..." "It's company policy you have to log in daily..." Nobody logs in daily. Just the elect 30... who got and paid for Teams. Seems to work for them.👍

    You very much glossed over the requirements for using Teams. As I understand it as a single home user I cannot use Teams, I must have an association with a company or school that has Microsoft 365. This does not make sense to me. 1:10 of video. This means that if someone wants to, for example, interview me for a job while I am at home on my home PC or Mac, this is not possible?

    Sorry, wrong. Microsoft Teams has a free version that I installed today (April 18, 2020) and am using Teams free version on my Windows 10 laptop. I signed up using my base Microsoft Live Account, then used my @Earthlink email address to set up the Microsoft Teams business account for my own IT support business. One does not have to use Office 365, as I am not using Office 365. I am using Office 2013. I am using the Teams Desktop app. Everything appears to be working properly. There are a couple of minor bells & whistles missing in the FREE version, but so far, it's not a deal-breaker.

    I have been invited to participate in a summit and I need to have their background to use. When I click the link for teams that was share it does not allow me to add a backdrop. there are to spaces that show one is to blur the background and the other is a white butter that cannot be accessed. So I downloaded team for me and I cannot connect to their team platforms because it says i'm the manger so what am I doing wrong.

    Hi Kevin! Really enjoying and looking forward to your next "Info Videos". I'm with a Government office (Education) w/ more than half a million employees and since the COVID-19 pandemic, me and my small team were tasked to teach and assist our co-workers in using MS Teams. Since video conferencing is getting to be a norm in this time and age, I was wondering if you could make or plan to make a short video (demo/tutorial) on how to use MS Teams together with Video Conferencing etiquette for "Dummies"? If you get what I mean... Thank you very much and keep safe!

    Good God, I will need a bit of practice to absorb the content as fast as you are spitting it out. Wow, I'm going to need a power drink just to recuperate. Lots of interesting stuff though, Thanks

    I have the following questions: 1) For teaching online, do my students have to purchase the teams software 2) Can you post pictures on the whiteboard? and 3) Is the whiteboard interactive for use by both the instructor and the students?

    1. How do I access Teams with my personal office 365 subscription?
    IF YES, how and..
    2. Can I send invite/chat and meet non 365 members with Teams?
    Thanks for your educative videos.

      Unfortunately you can't currently access Teams with a personal Office 365 subscription. You need a work or school account to access. Once you're in Teams, you can invite anyone else to join the Team, irrespective of what type of account the other person has. Hope that helps!

    If you are using Microsoft Teams don't forget to use a Microsoft Teams optimized headset. It makes all the difference!

    How are job seekers supposed to use this to communicate with businesses, when they have to be part of a company to use it? Sounds like the same shit as Skype for business. I had hoped this problems would be solved with Teams. Well congratulations Microsoft, you did it again. New program, still the same old problems exists.

    This was great Kevin!! In the toutorial, I noticed that in the files you had added a column for "status". I need to do that, but it is not listed as a template column, and can't find any mention of it anywhere when I search. Can you explain how I can add the status column? Thanks in advance!

    Hi Kevin, I really love your videos as there are very informative and straightforward. Recently I created a team in Microfoft Teams by accident and it is based on a SharePoint page. Can I delete the team I created but not affecting the SharePoint page that is linked? I am afraid by deleting both will be gone. How this is done? Thanks in advance.

    Hello. Thanks for sharing. My question is presenting a Power Point in Teams. I recently presented my Power Point to a class and I did not have view of my Power Point notes on screen unless I shared through my desktop. Is there something I am doing incorrectly. Thanks.

    Thank you for the overview. My 1st impression of teams: lots of resources and possibilities. Downside is too many windows too many buttons, too much visual information. Should be not only powerful, should be simpler.

    @12:40 - While Teams has a lot of good business-based uses it's still utter rubbish from an audio-visual point of view. The device settings are too basic - I understand why you might want to hide these settings for casual users, but there should be an advanced tab that lets you a do lot more with it. MS need to look at the kind of things Open Broadcaster can do - multiple audio devices, video and audio EQ, levels and mixing, aspect ratio, video resolution, filters.. these things could make it a professional presentation tool instead of a glorified Skype tacked onto a file management system.
    Hell, just allow users basic things like toggle video mirroring on the preview, or accessing their webcam's settings app from the Teams settings page - you even fell foul of that in the video! "As my webcam is going in and out of focus.. I can.. errr.. turn it off.." - yeah imagine you just clicked a button and the webcam settings came up and you could turn autofocus off. Sure you can do that in Windows by searching for it, but it's hardly befitting of a pro-level application that it doesn't have such basic stuff. Zoom is still very basic but I actually encourage it's use for a lot of education and presentation-based things in my organisation, just because it has a few more settings. It's getting used for webinars and presentations involving senior management and they're like "hey AV guy, can you sort X issue out?" and I'm ending up being like "well.. no, there's literally no settings here".

    Thank you so much for this video!! At about 14:30, you show and discuss the "Start recording" option during the video chat. I downloaded the free version of Teams on a MacBook Air, and that feature doesn't come up on my "..." menu in my video meeting. Is there a purchase I need to make to have that?

    • @hanawaleedlol
      @hanawaleedlol 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No need of purchase,i use ms teams for school but 1 thing, are you supposed to be student or teacher? Because for students,that option is either bot there or it is disabled (grey). For teachers,it will show up with some other settings.

      @@hanawaleedlol Neither - it's for an audition/job interview, so I downloaded the software independently. I need to record the practice video chats I'm having with my friends so I can see if my audio equipment is cooperating with Teams.

    ...so in order for me to invite someone outside the organization, they must have a MS Team account? If they don't, then they cannoy join meeting...correct?

    • @KevinStratvert
      @KevinStratvert  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can invite anyone to join your meeting even if they're outside your organization. They don't need a Microsoft account to join (e.g. I can invite someone with a Gmail account to join).
